“In about ten days, I guess.”

When they arrived at the main hall, Chu Ziluo was also there.
The kitchen staff steadily brought out dinner. The mutton hot pot was steaming, filling the house with white smoke, and the radishes inside had already absorbed the rich broth.
Next to it were some side dishes that were prepared earlier, piled up to cover half the table.
There were also a few small dishes ready to be eaten.
The lamb ribs had been roasted to a golden, crispy perfection, placed prominently on the table. Even Chu Ziluo couldn’t help but lick her lips: “Mother, roasted lamb ribs, we haven’t had these in a long time.”
Eating mutton in winter is fine, but in summer it’s too hot and dry, which Ye Muyu didn’t like. So, the kitchen hadn’t prepared it in a long time.
“I’ll go check on the lamb skewers.”
Originally, Ye Muyu wanted to grill them while eating, but it was obviously not suitable to do it inside the house. It wouldn’t be good if her husband and Chu Ziluo ended up smelling like oil and smoke.
“I’ll go grill the skewers first, and teach the house chef while I’m at it. They can learn through practice.”
Chu Ziluo eagerly said, “Mother, I want to try it too, can I?”

Chu Heng watched as he was left alone in the blink of an eye, smiled helplessly, and followed them out.
Ye Muyu saw that the charcoal fire was ready and placed the lamb skewers on the grill. Before long, a rich aroma filled the air. The skewers had been marinated, so they smelled delicious even without adding any seasoning.
“Mother, it smells so good.” Chu Ziluo was beside her, helping to grill. Although she had never done this before, she was meticulous in following Ye Muyu’s lead, placing the skewers on the grill and adding seasoning just like her mother.
“Ah Heng, why did you e out?” Ye Muyu noticed someone handing her the honey beside her and looked up, a bit surprised yet smiling as she saw it was Chu Heng.
Chu Heng stood next to her, handling the seasoning perfectly, “You all came out, I can’t stay inside alone.”
“Well then, just wait a bit. The skewers will be ready soon.” Ye Muyu said, speeding up her grilling. She was already handling ten skewers with one hand, and soon added another ten with both hands.
“Are you hungry? If you are, have a bowl of mutton soup first to warm up.” Ye Muyu was concerned that Chu Heng was too busy at the yamen and might get hungry quickly. Mutton soup was not only nourishing but also good for the stomach.
Chu Heng was about to say it wasn’t necessary.
Ye Muyu had already instructed Su Mei to bring out a small bowl of mutton soup.
“Ah Heng, have a sip.” Seeing the anticipation in Ye Muyu’s eyes, Chu Heng found it hard to refuse. He made a sound of agreement, took the spoon, and had a sip. The soup was not gamey and tasted great.
“How is it?” Ye Muyu’s eyes sparkled, eagerly awaiting his praise.
Chu Heng chuckled, spooned another mouthful, and fed it to Ye Muyu: “I think it’s delicious. You should taste it too.”
Ye Muyu did not find anything wrong with this, nodded in agreement, and took a sip. The soup tasted indeed quite good. Smacking her lips, she said, “It’s very fresh. By the way, I just remembered another dish. I’ll make you steamed mutton tomorrow.”
“Sounds good.” With that, Chu Heng and Ye Muyu shared the bowl of soup, finishing it without even noticing.
