Chapter 1662: Chapter 1659: Doing a Favor

After leaving the tent, Ye Muyu didn’t linger and quickly left the horse track with Su Mei, getting on a carriage to return home.

There weren’t many carriages at the entrance anymore, clearly indicating that many families’ members had left after the incident.

Ye Muyu subconsciously glanced around at the carriages and found that the Sacred Girl of Southern Border’s carriage was still there. Could it be that she was still at the racetrack?

Though curious, she couldn’t investigate and could only keep this matter to herself.

Upon returning to the residence.

She saw Chu Heng striding over. He was still wearing his official attire, evidently having returned directly from the yamen.

“Why are you back now?” Ye Muyu wondered.

Chu Heng replied helplessly: “I heard there was an incident. The yamen was about to close until before noon, so they gave us a break one hour early. I heard Zhongjin saved Chu Ziluo? Is she alright?”

If he wasn’t certain that his daughter was fine, he wouldn’t have returned so late.

Ye Muyu took his hand and led him to Chu Ziluo’s room.

She recounted everything that happened at the polo field, “Luckily, Zhongjin was there; otherwise, something serious could have happened to Chu Ziluo.”

“Why did chaos ensue at that moment?” Chu Heng asked the key question.

Ye Muyu was truly caught off guard, “I hadn’t considered it before you mentioned it. At that moment, I was watching from above. It was an accident; the two were peting for the ball, the horses’ heads almost collided, and they abruptly turned outward without reacting in time, causing the incident due to excessive speed.”

Chu Heng pondered: “Whose sons were peting for the ball?”

“One from Minister Xu’s family, and the other from General Wang’s family,” Ye Muyu provided useful information, eagerly hoping he would investigate the situation inside, as she was too shaken to ponder whether there was any ulterior motive or if someone had deliberately set a trap.

“The extent of each injury.” Chu Heng rubbed her head gently, wordlessly soothing her, evidently very familiar with Ye Muyu’s temperament.

Ye Muyu rubbed her cheek against his palm: “Minister Xu’s son is still unconscious, having hit his head, while General Wang’s son’s leg was broken, his shin fractured.”

“Alright, no need to worry. Perhaps I’m accustomed to thinking in conspiracies, and in reality, there’s nothing wrong.” Chu Heng touched her forehead to reassure her.

Ye Muyu nodded, relaxing.

They reached Chu Ziluo’s courtyard.

The plum blossoms on both sides of the courtyard grew exceptionally well, with Hong Mei standing out in the winter season.

“Master, lady.” The maidservants attending the courtyard all greeted them.

The room was quiet, Ye Muyu stepped inside first and saw Chu Ziluo lying on the bed, peacefully asleep, though her little face was still somewhat pale.

She walked over and softly asked Nenya, who was attending at the side, “Has she woken up yet?”

“No, the young miss drank calming medicine and has been asleep ever since. I’ve been staying by her bedside, concerned she might have nightmares.” Nenya replied.

Ye Muyu reached out again to touch her forehead.

It felt a bit cool.

“Take good care of her; should anything happen, find the doctor first and then notify me.” Ye Muyu thought Chu Ziluo would feel much better after a good sleep.

Since she wasn’t having nightmares, things seemed alright, but the situation could change later, so she arranged for someone to watch over her continuously.

“Does she have any other injuries?” Ye Muyu asked tirelessly.

Nenya pulled out Chu Ziluo’s hand: “The young miss suffered only a minor wound and some red swelling around her waist from the rope. Otherwise, she’s unharmed.”

“Has medicine been applied on her waist?”

“Yes, while the young miss was asleep, I applied ointment to relieve the swelling,” Nenya hurriedly nodded.
