Chapter 1007: 104 Smash the Door
The guard looked curiously at her lunchbox and asked with so suspicion, “Is it really good?”
It was the stifling heat of the late sumr season. Was it really okay to eat such greasy food?
“Not bad, there’s also a portion of Bingjian. I heard that Eunuch Ren asked for ice today, so he must feel a bit hot. Bingjian is most delicious in the sumr.”
“Alright, I’ll take it in. Miss Sun, you should head back.”
The guard took the lunchbox, clearly not intending to let Sun Ning enter.
Sun Ning tried to squeeze in but was stopped.
“What’s this?” Governor Sun, although having not left all day, had taken many docunts from the county governnt to review.
He was feeling hungry at the mont, seeing him carrying in the lunchbox.
He called the guard to open the food, and his initial excitent vanished upon seeing the greasy dishes served, losing his appetite instantly.
“Where did this food co from, so greasy? How can one eat this in the sumr?” Eunuch Ren’s palate had been spoiled by Ye Muyu’s cooking; if it had been before, he might not have seen any issue, but having witnessed better dishes, how could he settle for less?
The guard also had so disdain, “It was sent by Miss Sun, who said it was made by the best chef in the county. There’s also a portion of Bingjian…”
“Are you sure this is Bingjian?” Eunuch Ren looked at the ss of crushed ice, sowhat at a loss for words, “Just sprinkled with so crushed fruit on ice?”
“This…” The guard hadn’t expected Sun Ning to be so unreliable. Could it be that there wasn’t a single competent chef in the entire County City?
“Eunuch, what about this food…”
“Take it away, take it away.”
Eunuch Ren was already annoyed from reviewing docunts all afternoon, and now seeing the greasy food and the ssy Bingjian, his temper flared up, not bothering to save any face.
The guard quickly repacked the food into the lunchbox and hurried back to the entrance of the yard. Seeing that Sun Ning was still there, he straightforwardly returned the lunchbox to her: “Miss Sun, you are too kind, but you should take this food back with you.”
After speaking, he slamd the courtyard door shut.
Carrying the lunchbox, Sun Ning stood there, stunned for a mont, “What does this an?”
The maidservants trembled and dared not speak, as it was clear to any observant person that Eunuch Ren disliked the al Miss Sun had sent.
Sun Ning wasn’t foolish and understood as well. Her hand shook with anger as she threw the lunchbox down, “Absolutely ungrateful!”
“Co on, let’s go to that woman’s yard! I’m going to ask her how she deceived Eunuch Ren.” Sun Ning stord off through the spilled soup and water, fuming towards Ye Muyu’s courtyard.
Just as they left, the courtyard door opened, and Eunuch Ren and the guard saw the remnants of the rejected food at the doorway, both angered.
Xiao Tianhao also appeared, “Miss Sun has gone to trouble Madam Chu, please see to it, Eunuch.”
“Are they out of their minds? How dare they, with their disgusting food, and still not allow anyone to speak ill of it?” Eunuch Ren was so angry he nearly slamd the door, “Co, follow to see. I really want to see if the Sun family mbers think they can touch the sky!”
Xiao Tianhao felt relieved only after seeing Eunuch Ren proceed.
“Open the gate.” Sun Ning rushed straight to Ye Muyu’s courtyard, standing at the gate and striking it with stones. The loud bangs attracted nearby maidservants to co and watch the spectacle.
Chunqin stood in the courtyard, seeing Ye Muyu co out, and quickly advised her to keep her distance.
“Madam, those people from the Sun family have gone mad, coming here to smash the door. Aren’t they afraid the master will be angry?”
