Chapter 1208: Chapter 1205: Treating Illness
“Every ti I had als sent over, Doctor Lu was called out for house calls,” said Madam Liu.
“Aunt, you needn’t bother bringing als separately in the future. If you don’t mind, I’ll co and join you for als at the residence,” suggested Lu Sangqi. He was now busy treating patients and improving his dical skills, and whenever he encountered sothing he didn’t quite understand, he would seek advice from Ye Muyu.
Ye Muyu didn’t understand dicine, but she could provide examples, all of which were extrely valuable. On many an occasion, Sangqi would burrow into the Chu family’s bookstore.
Inside, one could find rare books, available for purchase either as printed or hand-copied editions, and a number of previously lost texts had been restored.
This made Sangqi realize that Ye Muyu truly loved reading, which was why she knew so much. The more he read, the more his mindset changed, and he no longer fixated on dostic affairs.
“It’s no trouble at all, I’m just bored and wandering around, and it gives an excuse to bring you so food,” Madam Liu would say, as Lu Sangqi never charged a fee for his visits and even provided dicine for free. She didn’t want to take advantage of him, and after several persuasions, Sangqi suggested he might like to eat als prepared by Ye Muyu from ti to ti.
During this period, Chu Heng was busy with official duties, and Ye Muyu, worried that he was not eating well and would ruin his health, began to prepare soups and broths daily, as the household affairs were not too demanding.
Madam Liu took it upon herself to deliver the als to Lu Sangqi.
She would also take the opportunity to go out and browse around since staying ho all the ti left her restless.
“Aunt, make sure you dress warmly when you’re out and about. The weather is fluctuating with the change of seasons, making it easy to catch a cold,” Lu Sangqi said with concern, and from his waist, he took out several bottles of pills, “These are so preventive cold dicine I’ve recently developed. “You’re quite the sweet-talker,” Madam Liu said, finally smiling as she accepted the pills and decided to carry so for her children as well.
Ye Muyu then asked, “So, are you going to open up your own clinic?”
Lu Sangqi hadn’t attempted the Imperial Physician exams and didn’t seem eager to beco an Imperial Physician. He had been reluctant to see patients before, but lately, he had started running his clinic more actively.
Shaking his head, Sangqi said, “I won’t. I haven’t finished reading the dical texts in your family’s bookstore, and there are many things I have yet to fully understand. I need hands-on practice.”
“So you’ve opened the clinic to validate theories about diseases?” Ye Muyu raised an eyebrow, thinking that he was quite bold. The capital was filled with nobles, and any minor deviation in treatnt could easily offend soone, let alone novel thods of treating illnesses, which were likely difficult to implent.
“Be extra careful. The situation in the capital is unclear at the mont, and you wouldn’t want to get tangled up in another family’s troubles,” Ye Muyu advised softly, concerned.
“If you trust , you’ll stop making house calls and have the patients co to the clinic,” she suggested gently.
Lu Sangqi didn’t respond imdiately, only saying, “I know my limits.”
Seeing patients from among the officials and nobles did indeed involve complications, yet it was also an opportunity to establish connections. The risks had to be managed appropriately.
“By the way, I heard that the Luo family also sought you out to treat the Eldest Young Master of the Luo family,” Ye Muyu comnted while sipping her hot tea, curiously inquiring, “Can you cure the Young Master’s leg?”
Lu Sangqi looked at her with a hint of bewildernt.
