Chapter 1323: Chapter 1320: Discuss

After setting off celebratory firecrackers joyously at the residence, the entire family sat down for lunch together.

“Ah Heng, after Ah Yu gives birth, I’d like to visit our hotown,” Madam Liu shared her thoughts.

Although they had more or less settled in the capital, both she and Chu Zhiwen were still not quite used to it; simply put, their hearts were still tied to their hotown.

With two major celebrations this ti, Madam Liu couldn’t restrain her desire to return ho.

On hearing this, Chu Heng humd in acknowledgnt and asked, “What about father? Is he also going back?”

Chu Zhiwen, without a second thought, nodded, “Of course, there’s nothing amusing for here alone. It’s your mother I’m worried about, traveling so far by herself.”

Madam Liu blushed upon hearing this, “Nonsense, why can’t I go back by myself? You’re the one with old bones. Don’t end up feeling unwell after such a long journey.”

Chu Zhiwen’s face was all smiles, “That won’t happen; I still need to go back and drink to our grandsons’ weddings.”

Passing the imperial examinations was naturally a joyous event, and a celebration would definitely be held back ho.

Chu Jin, hearing this, felt a bit envious, “Grandfather, may I return as well?”

It had been three or four years since they left their hotown. Chu Jin was very interested in the hotown celebrations. Every ti, he was able to share a purse full of celebration candy with his friends, which always attracted a string of followers because of the sweets.

“What would you go back for?” Chu Zhiwen was puzzled, “Didn’t you go out with friends during the last Mid-Autumn Festival?”

Although Chu Jin hadn’t found a suitable academy yet, he knew the children of his cousin Chu Heng’s colleagues at the Ministry of Revenue and often called them when going out.

“I want to go back to our hotown,” Chu Jin declared boldly, “and while I’m at it, soak up so good fortune so that when it’s ti for to take the scholar exam, I might pass on the first try.”

“Lil’ Jin’s got it right,” Madam Liu said, nodding superstitiously, “and while we’re there, we can also offer incense to our ancestors at the ancestral temple.”

Seeing his grandmother supporting him, Chu Jin imdiately grinned, “Can I go back then?”

However, Madam Liu didn’t decide for her grandson and simply said, “You’ll have to ask your parents.”

Ye Muyu slowly sipped her sweetened trella soup, seeing her son’s pleading gaze, she chuckled.

She playfully evaded, “Ask your father.”

Chu Jin montarily withdrew, but still really wanting to go, he mustered up the courage to look at Chu Heng and said weakly, “Father… what do you think?”

“I don’t think so,” Chu Heng responded nonchalantly.

Chu Jin’s expression instantly beca troubled, his features all scrunched up together.

“Mother, can you please plead with father for ? Don’t worry, I absolutely won’t be reckless, and I’ll take good care of Grandfather and Grandmother. You said before that boys need to go out and see the world to broaden their horizons.”

As Chu Jin spoke, he clung to Ye Muyu’s hand, cooing, his movents instinctively softening. At ten years old, this half-grown boy’s cooing didn’t seem out of place at all, though his awkward deanor made Ye Muyu burst into laughter.

Chu Jin’s ears turned red, especially since he knew his mother was laughing at him, but to achieve his goal, he earnestly persisted.

Ye Muyu, chard and amused, saw her son struggling to keep up, and finally reached out to tug at Chu Heng’s sleeve, “Ah Heng, why not let Lil’ Jin go?”

“By this ti next year, he might not have the chance to travel far.”

Chu Jin was initially elated to have convinced his mother, as convincing her was akin to convincing his father.

However, the last remark made his face fall instantly, “Mother, what do you an by that? Why wouldn’t I be able to travel far then?”
