She nuzzled her face into his palm playfully, letting him cradle her, “Will you believe anything I say?”
“Yes, I believe,” Chu Heng leaned close to her lips and kissed her, their breaths heavy with a heat that brushed her face, making Muyu’s cheeks flush and her heartbeat slightly quicken.
Chu Heng had intended just a light touch, but seeing her reaction, the color deepened in his eyes, and he couldn’t help but pry open her teeth, kissing her a bit forcefully.
Ye Muyu closed her eyes, her eyelashes trembling lightly and the tips of her ears turning a dark red, unable to resist reaching out to touch his Adam’s apple.
After the kiss, she took a mont to catch her breath.

As Chu Heng carried Ye Muyu into the delivery room, his hands were shaking.
Ye Muyu had already begun to experience contractions, and she, who feared pain above all, couldn’t help but moan.
“Ah Yu, don’t be afraid, don’t be afraid…” Chu Heng held her hand tightly, his trembling lips kissing the back of her hand.
Although Ye Muyu felt the pain, she wasn’t very scared. Seeing his strong reaction, she felt touched yet also distressed.
She tried to muster a smile, “I’m not afraid, you shouldn’t be either, Ah Heng.”

The midwife lifted Ye Muyu’s skirts, “The lady’s water has broken, but the cervix is only dilated three fingers…”
Generally, the cervix should dilate first, then the water breaks for a smooth birth.
If the water breaks first and the cervix doesn’t dilate within an hour, the child won’t co out.
Hence, hearing the midwife’s words, Madam Liu’s hands started to shake.
Chu Heng understood the midwife’s implication as well, his lips pressed tight, his complexion turning extrely grim, “How can we ensure a smooth delivery?”
“We need to wait for the cervix to dilate. If it’s still not enough after half an hour, labor-inducing drugs will be necessary,” the midwife hadn’t expected this situation either and was sowhat flustered, stuttering as she spoke.
Ye Muyu also heard this and felt a wave of pain with each contraction beneath her.
