Chapter 1395: Chapter 1392: The Arrangent

“Hmm? What’s wrong?” Chu Heng responded,

Ye Muyu set the toy basket aside and reached out to pull him, “Let’s go to the study. There’s sothing I want to discuss with you.”

Chu Heng complied with her, stood up, and followed her to the study. Ever since Nuanbao was born, Chu Heng had cleared out a room in the courtyard to use as a study where he could work on a daily basis and also keep an eye on his wife and child.

After seating Chu Heng behind the desk, Ye Muyu, with her brows slightly furrowed, walked over, took out several letters, and placed them on the desk. She handed them to him, “This is the news that just arrived. Take a look.” Ye Muyu was sowhat worried.

Chu Heng reached out, opened the letters, and read them at a glance. It wasn’t long before he had finished all five letters.

“The letters we sent through the post station show signs of having been opened en route,” Ye Muyu said, a bit angrily, “Fortunately, we were prepared and didn’t write any special ssages inside.”

“However, there was also an incident with the rchant caravan, and the letters were burned on the spot. Although nothing was leaked, this act will likely raise the suspicions of the other party, making them think that there must be important information in the letters we sent back ho.”

Chu Heng reached out and poked her cheek.

Ye Muyu sat up straight, dodged his playfulness, and couldn’t help but laugh and cry, “You’re still in the mood to joke around at such a serious ti.”

Although her words were serious, she couldn’t control the smile spreading across her face.

Chu Heng pulled her over to sit beside him on the soft couch.

“You should have guessed by now,” he stated, phrasing it like a question but with a tone of certainty.

“Oh? Guessed what?” Ye Muyu blinked at him and asked in a sweet voice.

A look of helplessness crossed Chu Heng’s face as he pulled her into his embrace, “You guessed that I did this on purpose for Duke Zheng to see.”

“You’re really bold,” Ye Muyu said with genuine concern. Though worried, she wouldn’t stop him from doing what he felt was necessary.

She just wanted to help him with whatever was in her heart.

Especially for this family, she wouldn’t allow anyone to destroy it.

The scout team she had raised was proving to be very useful at this ti.

She could control the news at any ti, and the tiliness of the news was exceedingly important in the less developed ancient tis.

“Don’t worry, Duke Zheng is the one who’s anxious,” Chu Heng said as he gently rubbed her face, his voice warm and pleasant, “The court has received a secret report that Duke Zheng has ddled with the salt mines.”

“Smuggling private salt?” Ye Muyu’s pupils widened in shock.

From what she knew, the Great Chu was in a state of peace and prosperity, at least with Emperor Mingzong on the throne, a very formidable Emperor. Duke Zheng dared to traffic in private salt? Was he aspiring to grand corruption?

But if it was rely for power and wealth, he shouldn’t offend the Emperor. Now he was openly opposing the Emperor, seeking to support the Fifth Imperial Son and use the Son of Heaven to command the lords — did that an he had a significant force at hand?

“Yes, that’s true, although he has hidden it well. The court’s information is accurate, and with Duke Zheng’s capabilities, he can handle it, but it will undoubtedly bring so trouble,” Chu Heng acknowledged.

“I have already arranged people to deal with the examination issue in the Prefectural City, which has diverted their attention. Next, I will have enough ti to make so arrangents,” he continued with confidence.

Ye Muyu naturally trusted his abilities.

She leaned in and kissed his lips.

Their breaths intertwined, and the slightly panicky emotions originally present slowly stabilized. Ye Muyu even had just one thought—the thought that with him by her side, whatever happened, she would be strong enough to withstand it.
