Chapter 1785: Chapter 1782: Care

“Second Brother, don’t worry about , you go ahead.” Chu Heng led Ye Muyu to the living room.

Chu Cai first looked at Chu Bo, then left a servant boy by his side to take good care of him and specifically arranged for two more servants to take care of him in turns.

After giving the instructions, only then did Chu Cai turn and head to the living room.

Chu Bo is not in any life-threatening condition, just has lost too much blood and needs a good rest and nourishnt.

When Chu Cai reached the front hall, he quickly walked over: “Third Brother, Third Brother’s Wife, you’ve been waiting for a long ti.”

“Second Brother, have a seat. Regarding today’s matter, I’ll try to arrange it so that the yan will summon Abo only after he has recovered.” With a single sentence, Chu Heng relieved Chu Cai of his worries.

He hadn’t thought that far ahead, only feeling that since soone had died, they wouldn’t know how long the questioning would take; those like Chu Bo, as a key witness, would surely be summoned to the yan frequently.

If Chu Bo’s injuries were further aggravated a few more tis, his recovery would be even slower.

Dinner was quite simple, just so typical ho-cooked dishes, which were just right.

Chu Heng and Ye Muyu maintained a tacit understanding, avoiding letting the Chu Cai family know too much, fearing they would overthink.

Moreover, as the situation had not been confird, Chu Heng couldn’t say anything definite, so it was better to keep it from them.

After leaving, they arranged for people to protect the second household before leaving.

Upon returning to the residence, Ye Muyu let out a breath of relief; hot water had long been prepared in the main kitchen.

Ye Muyu took a bath first, and when she returned, she saw Chu Heng sitting on the soft couch by the window, looking as if he was examining so secret note.

Her face and neck were still slightly damp.

Chu Heng looked up, eting her gaze; his eyes imdiately fell on her fair, slender neck still misted with moisture.

His gaze deepened instantly, reaching out to Ye Muyu, he softly said, “Ah Yu, co here.”

Ye Muyu naturally extended her hand to him, and after being pulled over, she fell into his embrace.

Chu Heng lowered his head, capturing her lips, his movents gentle yet with a hidden sense of aggression; a familiar bamboo scent spread from Ye Muyu’s ears down to her neck.

When the kiss ended, Ye Muyu felt her whole body slightly heated, especially where his hand rested on her waist.

Chu Heng’s nose touched hers, feeling his hot breath at such close quarters.

“Ah Yu, were you frightened today?” Chu Heng’s voice was very gentle as he caressed her cheek, “Just as you predicted, there’s indeed so activity at the Buddhist Light Temple. I suspect there is a hidden chamber underneath.”

“I’ve already contacted the eunuchs of the Imperial Palace and reported the matter.”

Such matters, for Chu Heng, were better reported to those above than concealed; what action the other party would take was no longer his concern, and his family need not intervene.

Ye Muyu was sowhat surprised: “Ah? So soon?”

Her lips and eyes were still slightly red, with faint marks remaining on her snowy skin.

It made one tempted to bully her once more.

Chu Heng lightly pecked her lips, finding them incredibly soft, “I arranged it while at Second Brother’s residence.”

“No wonder.” Ye Muyu suddenly realized.

Seeing him lean in for another kiss, she could only accept, blushing, and endure it passively. After the kiss, she patted his cheek: “Aren’t you still busy? Then I won’t disturb you. Finish early so you can rest early.”

She said this, blushing, as she patted his shoulder, “Keep at it, resting early is good for your health.”

Seeing her adorable deanor, Chu Heng found it amusing, and couldn’t resist reaching out to rub her head, “Alright, I’ll work a bit first.”
