Chapter 1815: Chapter 1812: The Cause

Inside the room, Chu Heng had just reached out to cradle Ye Muyu, when her small hands fastened around his waist, her face pale and occasionally letting out a soft moan.

Chu Heng lowered his head and kissed her forehead, “Ah Yu, don’t be afraid, I’m here.”

“Hot, painful…” Ye Muyu gripped his collar tightly, as if clutching onto her lifeline.

“Good girl, drink the dicine first…” Chu Heng saw she couldn’t swallow it, so he fed her mouthful by mouthful, the bitter dicinal liquid touching her dry lips.

Ye Muyu was drenched in sweat, as though pulled from the water, and once she finished drinking the dicine, she quieted down completely. Chu Heng gently rubbed her furrowed brow, perhaps due to the dicine’s effect, her pained expression gradually cald and she fell into a deep sleep.

Chu Heng gently caressed her cheek, his actions tender, his eyes full of emotion. At so unknown point, there was a commotion outside, and Su i softly ntioned that Lu Sangqi had arrived.

Chu Heng acknowledged with a sound, walked over, and opened the door.

Lu Sangqi sat in a wheelchair, his face anxious, “What exactly happened.”

“Speak quietly, co in first.”

After he spoke, he turned back to the bedside, sat silently, shielding Ye Muyu’s frail, pale face, revealing only a wrist.

Lu Sangqi pushed the wheelchair inside, his face heavy, when he reached the bedside and tried to approach, Chu Heng’s foot blocked the wheelchair, he looked up and said flatly, “Diagnose.”

Lu Sangqi stared at him for a while, “If anything happens to my sister, I’ll definitely settle the score with you.”

Upon hearing this address, the defensive emotion on Chu Heng’s face receded, he acknowledged with a sound, and took the pulse pillow Lu Sangqi had handed over, placing it under Ye Muyu’s wrist, and also took out a handkerchief, placing it on her wrist.

Seeing this series of actions, Lu Sangqi couldn’t help but admit that Chu Heng truly cared for Ye Muyu, evident from the tenderness in his eyes and his usual little details.

Once Chu Heng finished, Lu Sangqi reached out to examine Ye Muyu.

The entire room remained silent, very quiet, Lu Sangqi’s brow furrowed, but after a while, slowly returned to calm, withdrew his hand, and looked at Chu Heng.

Chu Heng tucked Ye Muyu’s hand under the blanket, then stood up and followed Lu Sangqi outside.

Once they reached the study, Chu Heng said, “Any conclusions?”

“Yes.” Lu Sangqi’s fingers tapped on the tabletop, a hint of ferocity flashed in his eyes, “It’s dicine from the Southern Border, a type of dicine prir. Normally it doesn’t cause any reaction in people, but since my sister hasn’t been well and has been taking a lot of dicines for so ti, it just so happens that among them is an herb called Qichai, when it ets the Southern Border prir Southern Withered Grass, it causes symptoms of high fever and headaches.”

Chu Heng’s fist imdiately clenched up, his gaze extrely cold.

Seeing his reaction after he finished speaking, Lu Sangqi was reluctantly satisfied.

“Can you continue explaining?” Chu Heng looked up, his eyes cold, obviously already guessing the rest of his words, yet didn’t prevent him from purposely pausing, not continuing the explanation.

Lu Sangqi raised an eyebrow, “This is fortunate amidst the misfortune, because as far as I know, at the Southern Border, using this dicine prir is to ensure the success of the subsequent hallucinogenic drug. And this dicine, I’ve heard, only needs to light so incense to take effect, by rely catching a slight scent to activate it, and those affected by the hallucinogenic drug will reveal their truest thoughts, and when its effects dissipate, it leaves no traces, not even any related mories for the affected themselves.”
