He Dequan was attending to Deng Jieyu in the side hall when he heard the voice. Startled, he quickly hurried over, seeing Xiao Tianhao collapsed on the ground with blood streaming from his head and unsure if he was dead or alive. He dared not face the furious Emperor Xuanming and shivered as he knelt down.
Deng Jieyu also hurried over at this sight and let out an astonished cry.
“Emperor, please don’t get angry. Anger affects your health.”
Emperor Xuanming, with a cold face, said, “He Dequan, find a seat for my beloved consort.”
“Have this audacious traitor who dares to slander taken away and held in custody.”
How could He Dequan dare to say anything against it? He quickly arranged for people to co.
The guards took Xiao Tianhao away, while the Palace Attendants hurriedly brought a chair for Deng Jieyu.
He Dequan personally used his sleeve to wipe the chair for Deng Jieyu.
Deng Jieyu was sowhat surprised but sat down naturally, not rejecting this opportunity to elevate her status.
“Thank you, Emperor.”
Emperor Xuanming, with his hands behind him and a face dark as ink, coldly instructed He Dequan: “Announce my order: demote Xiao Tianhao to a commoner, strip him of his official position, and expel him from the palace imdiately.”
He Dequan was truly shocked.
The next order followed smoothly by the promotion of the Deputy Commander to Xiao Tianhao’s original position.
He Dequan did not know what Xiao Tianhao had done. Working for the Emperor for five years, now reduced to a first-rank commoner, with so many people Xiao Tianhao had offended before, it was uncertain whether he could even preserve his life once outside the palace.
But he dared not speak.
He could only pass on the order, his voice sharp.
“Get out.”
Emperor Xuanming left only Deng Jieyu behind.
This incident caused quite a stir both in the Imperial Harem and in the front court.
Deng Jieyu was sowhat frightened as well. She had not taken action against Xiao Tianhao, or rather, she wanted to but had not yet done so. How did Xiao Tianhao suddenly fall on his own?

Seeing the tenderness in his gaze, Deng Jieyu’s heart softened. She stood up and walked over to him, being pulled to sit beside him.
Deng Jieyu struggled to get up: “Emperor, this is improper, how can I sit on the Dragon Throne?”
“If I ask you to sit, then sit.” Emperor Xuanming frowned unhappily: “I know both the Imperial Harem and court officials think I’ve lost my mind doting on you, but I’ve worked tirelessly for so many years. Can I not even pamper my own woman?”
“When the Imperial Father was still here, he did the sa thing, yet there was no opposition from the court officials. Clearly, I have been too rciful all these years.” Emperor Xuanming squinted, a hint of murderous intent flashing in his eyes.
Deng Jieyu was exceedingly surprised. She had not anticipated that the emotions she cautiously developed with him would trigger his pride and dissatisfaction. However, upon reflection, it wasn’t surprising.
In the past, Emperor Xuanming was rational, caring for the world, an admirable ruler, but he was cold towards the won of the harem.
Now, looking at this once lofty man finally bowing before her, Deng Jieyu felt both delighted and sarcastic.
“Emperor, I will always support you. No matter what you want to do, I will accompany you.” Deng Jieyu snuggled into his arms, sweetly whispering words of love.
So of the anger on Emperor Xuanming’s face faded: “What my beloved consort says is true.”
Two quarters of an hour later.
Deng Jieyu left the Imperial Study with her rewards.
As she stepped outside, she encountered Chu Heng, who had evidently just arrived intending to request an audience with Emperor Xuanming.
She squinted slightly, adjusted her course, and walked towards Chu Heng.
