Looking at the small, smoke-plud island in the distance, the three won exclaid excitedly, "We’ve been sailing for so long! We finally see an island where we can stretch our legs, pick so wild fruit, and have a look around..."
The assistant, however, gazed at the island with unbridled joy. "Maybe there are tropical beauties on that island! I love won in grass skirts doing the hula..."
It’s been so long since I’ve had so private fun, the assistant thought with a secret smirk. I can use this chance on the island to sneak a peek at the hula dancers... and take care of business.
However, just as the assistant and the three won were eagerly anticipating landing, Zhao Rong abruptly turned the yacht around, preparing to steer clear of the distant island. When the three won saw Zhao Rong turning away and not approaching the island, they asked, confused, "Zhao Rong, we’re so close to that island. Why don’t we go ashore and look around? Why are you changing course and sailing away?"
The assistant also complained unhappily, "Zhao Rong, we’re in the tropics! Don’t you want to go ashore and watch beautiful won in grass skirts dance a sexy hula right in front of you?"
Before they could finish, Zhao Rong cut them off. "Do you have any idea what that island is called?"
The three won and the assistant shook their heads in unison. "No..."
Zhao Rong pulled out his phone, showing them the text prompt on the GPRS and Beidou dual-positioning system. "You may not know this, but after double-checking our location, I’ve confird that this island is the legendary Murder Island."
Hearing the na, the assistant and the three won stared at each other, completely baffled. The assistant sucked in a sharp breath. "Zhao Rong," he said in disbelief, "what do you an, Murder Island? Does the island itself kill people?"
Yu Lan was also perplexed. "Murder Island... as the na suggests, does that an the natives on the island are killers?"
Lili let her imagination run wild. "I bet there are cannibals on the island. That must be why geographers nad it Murder Island."
Xuelian imdiately whipped two cans of pepper spray out of her pocket and brandished them. "I refuse to believe those natives and cannibals are that tough. Do you think they can stand up to these two cans of pepper spray?"
While everyone was making wild guesses, Zhao Rong explained solemnly, "Murder Island is a lot like the Bermuda Triangle. Strange things happen when ships pass by. They’re either destroyed with all hands lost, or they vanish without a trace. According to the data I just looked up, every ship that has sailed past Murder Island has mysteriously disappeared. No human who has ever tried to set foot on it has made it out alive."
Hearing Zhao Rong’s terrifying description, the three won said fearfully, "If it’s that dreadful, then let’s get out of here as fast as possible!"
The assistant, also gripped by fear, muttered, "Damn it! I can’t believe it. Out of the frying pan and into the fire..."
As he steered the private yacht rapidly away from Murder Island, Zhao Rong’s mind was racing.
This is bizarre. The map clearly marks Murder Island as being near Central Arica, yet we just encountered Somali pirates from the Indian Ocean. One is near the Caribbean Sea, the other near the Red Sea in the Indian Ocean. How could two completely unrelated places be in the sa location? It’s utterly inconceivable.
Just as Zhao Rong was grappling with this puzzle, a ferocious storm suddenly descended upon them. Along with the gale-force winds ca colossal waves. What horrified Zhao Rong and his companions were the waves, which were simply monstrous. Each swell rose to the height of a ten-story building. Their private yacht was like a single leaf tossed about on the vast ocean, utterly insignificant. At any mont, the vessel could be capsized by a giant wave and sink without a trace.
Seeing the imminent danger, Zhao Rong yelled for the assistant to lower the sails. He desperately tried to control the yacht’s direction, maneuvering to avoid the worst of the wind and waves as he aid for a patch of relatively calm water in the distance.
But as he fought to pilot the yacht, a monstrous wave as tall as a twenty-story building lood over them, crashing down. When Zhao Rong saw the massive wave bearing down on his private yacht, he imdiately shouted to the others, "This is bad! The yacht is going to sink! Everybody prepare to abandon ship!"
Hearing that the yacht might sink, the three won grabbed Zhao Rong’s arm in terror. "Zhao Rong, we’re helpless out here in the middle of this vast ocean! And there’s no life-saving equipnt on the yacht! If the ship sinks, how will we ever escape?"
The assistant threw himself around Zhao Rong’s legs and wailed, "Zhao Rong, I don’t want to die! You have to save ! I can’t swim!"
At this critical mont, Zhao Rong whipped out his phone with lightning speed and opened the Paradise Shopping Cart. He frantically tapped the screen, purchasing an item called a Deepwater Escape Pod.
Just as the giant wave crashed down, Zhao Rong’s package was delivered from the seabed. By then, the ship was already sinking, and all five of them were plunged into the churning water. In the blink of an eye, Zhao Rong ripped open the package and scrambled into a large, spherical object that looked like a plastic ball.
He yelled to the three won and the assistant outside, "What are you waiting for? The ship’s going down! Get into this escape pod, now! Otherwise, we’ll be dragged to the bottom of the sea and drown!"
Hearing his words, the three won and the assistant scrambled into the escape pod as fast as they could. Once Zhao Rong saw that everyone was safely inside, he sealed the entrance and activated the pod’s ergency reserve system.
The very instant they were all inside the escape pod, their private yacht was swamped by the wave and sank to the ocean floor. At the sa ti, the force of the water pressed the escape pod, with Zhao Rong and his four companions inside, deep into the sea. Since the escape pod was transparent, they imdiately had a clear view of the underwater world around them.
