"Why?"
Ye Luo looked startled.
"Because so people I despise are about to co and take away, and I do not want to go with them, so I want to stay by your side."
"People you despise are coming to take you away? Who are they?"
"I don’t know."
"Then why do you think that staying by my side will prevent you from being taken away?"
"I don’t know!"
The conversation with Luo Ji once again made Ye Luo feel deeply defeated; the way this beauty from the Angel Race spoke was simply infuriating.
"I am off to rescue soone, and it could be dangerous. It might not be convenient to bring you along," Ye Luo said, glancing at Luo Ji.
"Don’t worry, I won’t hinder you. I will protect myself," Luo Ji said lightly.
"Alright then!"
Seeing Luo Ji say this, Ye Luo could only agree.
After chatting with the won for a while, Ye Luo ntioned his forthcoming trip to Capital City. This ti, the won said nothing, apparently thinking Ye Luo just wanted to check on the won in Capital City. Ye Luo didn’t elaborate to avoid worrying them.
Subsequently, Ye Luo, accompanied by Luo Ji, hurried toward Capital City. His primary reason for visiting was to learn more about the Jiu Hua Sect through the War God.
Even if it ant rescuing soone or regaining face, he needed to make detailed contacts with the target and also planned to use the War God as an assistant. Otherwise, going to the Jiu Hua Sect alone to complete the mission would indeed be no simple task.
After all, Jiu Hua Sect was not like the Divine Sword Sect; it was a truly authentic first-class force among the Hidden Sects, and Controlling Qi Realm masters definitely existed. He was currently no match for masters of the Controlling Qi Realm.
Even with an Array Plate in hand, he could attack only twice at most, which wouldn’t be very effective. Moreover, there were a lot of Spirit Sea Realm masters, and with his current abilities, he couldn’t handle them either; thus, he needed soone to dominate the scene.
At around four or five in the afternoon, Ye Luo arrived in Capital City, made contact with the War God, and learned that he was at Elder Shi’s quadrangle courtyard. Ye Luo first brought Luo Ji to the villa in Capital City.
He introduced Luo Ji to several won in Capital City, then they headed to Elder Shi’s quadrangle courtyard.
Arriving at the courtyard once more, Ye Luo t Elder Shi and the War God, who were playing chess.
"Ye Luo, you’re here!"
Elder Shi glanced at Ye Luo.
"Elder Shi, hello!"
Ye Luo first greeted Elder Shi, then turned his gaze to the War God, a hint of astonishnt in his eyes and exclaid, "Captain War God, congratulations on your breakthrough and becoming a real Controlling Qi Realm master."
"You really are incredible, noticing my breakthrough imdiately when I haven’t leaked even a hint of my aura!"
The War God looked at Ye Luo with a hint of surprise in his eyes.
Ye Luo smiled. Although his Clairvoyant Eye was still unable to penetrate the realms of Controlling Qi Realm masters, it could see through those of the Spirit Sea Realm masters.
He just used the Clairvoyant Eye, and since the War God was no longer in the Spirit Sea Realm, he must have broken through to the Controlling Qi Realm.
"My eyes are just a bit special."
"That battle the other day gave so insights, and I finally broke through to the Controlling Qi Realm. It fulfilled one of my wishes, but you contacting suddenly, has sothing happened?" the War God said to Ye Luo.
"I want to know more about the Jiu Hua Sect. Captain War God, how much do you know about them?" Ye Luo asked directly.
"It’s about Hou Jingwu, isn’t it?"
The War God spoke, his gaze fixed on Ye Luo.
"Exactly." Ye Luo nodded.
"You want to help him, but this matter is not so easy to help with. Now, the news has spread that the daughter of the Sect Leader of Jiu Hua Sect and a disciple of the Second Elder are getting married."
"Many forces from the Hidden Sect will go to congratulate. If you want to rescue Hou Jingwu, that would be simple, but if you go on to disrupt the wedding, I’m afraid it will complicate matters. By then, you might end up making enemies of the entire Jiu Hua Sect."
The War God stated seriously.
"Hou Jingwu is my brother; I can’t stand by and watch him be sad. He and Die Wu belong together; no matter what, I will bring them together."
Ye Luo declared without hesitation.
"You really are fearless!"
Elder Shi suddenly spoke as he looked at Ye Luo.
"I’m only doing what I must."
"Aren’t you afraid of death? What about your won, what about Yan Ran? She’s even preparing to leave the entertainnt industry and give up her career for you."
Elder Shi frowned slightly, his tone heavy.
"Don’t worry, Elder Shi. I will be fine. There are so things I simply must do, otherwise I won’t feel at ease. Both won and brothers are the most important to ; I cannot give up on either."
Ye Luo replied.
"You truly are one to prioritize love and loyalty. Since that’s the case, let the War God accompany you on this trip. However, if it really isn’t going well, don’t force it. It’s most important to keep your life safe."
Elder Shi said lightly, his eyes sparkling with a sharp gleam.
"Thank you, Elder Shi and Captain War God!" Ye Luo imdiately expressed his gratitude.
After Ye Luo had left, the War God looked at Elder Shi and said, "Elder Shi, I’ve just broken through to the Controlling Qi Realm, just the first level. The Jiu Hua Sect has many masters in the Controlling Qi Realm, and if it cos to fighting, I might not be able to fully protect him."
"Don’t worry; that kid is very lucky, he won’t die so easily!"
Suddenly, a light and airy voice sounded, and a figure appeared out of nowhere, as if traversing through space, incredibly ghostly.
This suddenly appearing figure was an old man wearing a tattered robe, dressed sowhat like a Monk, his face full of wrinkles, yet bearing a smile.
"You old fellow, you finally showed up!"
Seeing this old man, Elder Shi revealed a faint smile at the corner of his mouth.
"Master...Elder Xuan Ji!"
The War God looked at the old man, visibly excited, and hastily addressed him, beginning to say "master" but feeling it was incorrect, he swiftly changed his term, though his eyes still looked at the old man with great respect.
"Not bad, not bad, your strength is passable. It wasn’t a waste of my ti teaching you, though the pity is, your talent is still lacking!"
The old man glanced at the War God with indifferent eyes and said while shaking his head.
Imdiately, a bitter smile ford at the corner of the War God’s mouth. At his age, under forty, achieving the Controlling Qi Realm would usually an no one could criticize his martial arts talent.
But this old man seed to dislike his talent, leaving him without a retort.
The War God knew of the old man’s terrifying strength; he surely had the right to say so, and indeed, compared to a certain disciple of his, he lacked considerably in talent.
"You old man, always demoralizing others as soon as you appear. That’s enough from you!"
Elder Shi looked at the old man and also smiled, shaking his head.
