"Scumbags, go to Hell!"

Suddenly, a burly man forcefully lifted a cabinet beside him and hurled it down the corridor.

With a thunderous crash, the two fastest zombies were instantly sent flying.

As the loud noise echoed, the battle had likewise begun its overture.

The team led by Mingyue wasn’t particularly strong, yet the majority of those who survived until now actually possessed Saint Level strength, and most of the remaining mbers were Ability Users.

At this mont, the man known as Old Iron bellowed and activated his Special Ability.

Steel Body!

Old Iron’s ability allowed him to turn his flesh as hard as steel.

In fact, it was precisely because of his resilience, always frontlining each assault, that they had managed to hold on until now.

After Old Iron deployed his steel ability, he stood alone at the entrance of the corridor, silently waiting for the zombies to charge.

Every one of them was acutely aware that using such trivial objects to stop zombies was almost impossible.

Rather than saying the piles of objects in the corridor were to stop the zombies, it was more about giving themselves a false sense of security.

At this mont, the zombies in the corridor charged madly towards the upper floors, rendering the objects utterly useless as they were knocked and scattered all around.

Before long, the entire corridor was cleared.

But Old Iron still stood resolutely at the entrance!

Now, having activated his ability, Old Iron’s body shone with a tallic sheen, but precisely because of this, his movents were incredibly slow, unlike other abilities.

This ability of Old Iron had seed almost useless in the early days. Although it provided formidable defensive power, its drawback of slow movent almost rendered him helpless. Fortunately, in the Special Security Bureau, they usually operated in groups and had others to coordinate with him.

At this point, several other team mbers stood behind Old Iron, wielding homade spears, continuously jabbing at the zombies—a necessary act of desperation.

After all, not everyone was Ye Luo, brimming with an arsenal of Magical Treasures.

They were just ordinary mbers of the Special Security Bureau, only slightly stronger than the average person.

Now, as all their prepared equipnt was depleted, what else could they do but resort to homade weapons?

"Quick, block them! We can’t let them get through, otherwise, we’re all dead!"

Mingyue ordered loudly, yet her gaze was fixed on a distant location.

Mingyue knew in her heart that they probably couldn’t hold out any longer and might die here today.

Regretful?

Mingyue didn’t regret it. In her heart, even if they were to sacrifice themselves, it was for the nation, for the people, so it was a righteous death.

However, nobody wanted to die. Given the chance, Mingyue, of course, wished to survive.

"Boom!"

A sudden loud noise drew Mingyue’s attention instantly.

A wall had been breached by the zombies!

These zombies had actually charged up from another corridor to their floor, then broke through the walls all the way to where they were!

And right now, almost everyone was defending just this one passage, leaving the breached wall completely unguarded.

"Damn it!"

Mingyue roared and imdiately rushed toward the breach.

"Captain, be careful!"

Two seriously injured mbers, who were lying on the ground, mustered their final strength and crawled toward the breach!

Even though they knew very well that going there was akin to courting death.

But if they could buy even a second more ti for their teammates in their final monts, they believed it was worth it.

With that breach, Mingyue and the others were in grave danger; the next second could be their last.

But then, a strange thing happened. The zombies, having broken through the passage, rely trapped Mingyue and the others but made no move to finish them off.

What was happening?

As Mingyue puzzled over this, a man in black robes erged.

"Mingyue? A Special Security Bureau mber! I didn’t expect she’d be such a beauty, haha, no worries, sweetheart, your big brother won’t kill you. Once I’ve finished my business, I’ll turn you into a docile little slave to serve for eternity," the man in black robes said smugly.

As soon as this man appeared, everyone understood that he was a disciple of the Corpse King Palace and one of the puppeteers behind these zombies!

Mingyue stared angrily at the man in black robes, her heart filled with unspeakable sorrow and rage. If it weren’t for her teammates still fighting, she’d rather leap from the building and die than let this man have his way.

Her eyes fixed deathly on the black-robed man, her hatred for the Corpse King Palace intensified to desperation.

"How dare your Corpse King Palace unleash such chaos in the mortal world. Aren’t you afraid of being punished?" she challenged him.

The man in black robes laughed and mockingly replied, "Punished? Who would dare? The Special Security Bureau, Huaxia’s military, or perhaps that formidable Hidden Sect in your eyes? You seem rather well-inford for such a pretty little thing! But let tell you, the Corpse King Palace has lain dormant for a thousand years, waiting for this day. Do you really think the Hidden Sect, disorganized as they are, can sanction us? As for your Special Security Bureau and those ordinary soldiers, do you really think they stand a chance against us?"

The black-robed man seed confident in his control over the situation, so much so that he even revealed such sensitive information.

Mingyue was far from foolish—she was incredibly shrewd. From this man’s tone, she already sensed that this operation of the Corpse King Palace was massive in scale and scope, perhaps even affecting more areas beyond Zhamu City, certainly including the Hidden Sect.

Yet, with so little information, Mingyue wasn’t clear on the specifics.

At this mont, she harbored doubts.

"Why haven’t you killed us? What are you waiting for?"

Indeed, Mingyue was perplexed. They were already powerless to resist, but these zombies just surrounded them without taking action. What was the Corpse King Palace really after?

The only thing Mingyue knew was that they were being used as bait, but who would the Corpse King Palace go to such lengths to trap?

And now, at this point, who could possibly co to their rescue?

The man in black robes glanced at Mingyue but didn’t answer her question as more black-robed figures entered the scene.

Just as Mingyue was lost in confusion,

Ye Luo had finally arrived.
