A day passed in the blink of an eye, and night fell. Ye Luo and Mingyue sat inside a cave, with a pile of firewood burning in front of them, illuminating their faces.
"Do you think we’ll really stay on this deserted island forever?" Mingyue’s eyes gazed at Ye Luo as she couldn’t help but ask.
"Maybe, I don’t know either," Ye Luo’s expression seed very indifferent.
"I don’t think you want to stay on this barren island either, otherwise, how would you survive without won?" Mingyue said with a laugh.
A playful look appeared on Ye Luo’s lips as he looked at Mingyue, "Aren’t you a woman?"
"Don’t get any ideas about , I won’t be with you," Mingyue suddenly pursed her lips and glared at Ye Luo.
"If we really can only stay here, then you don’t have much of say in it," Ye Luo chuckled.
"I’m going to sleep, and I warn you one more ti, absolutely no improper thoughts, or else..."
"Or else what?" Ye Luo asked with interest as he looked at Mingyue.
"Or else, I will bite you to death." Mingyue showed her teeth and made a fierce gesture as if she were about to bite soone, then she lay down, her body tensely coiled as if truly afraid Ye Luo would do sothing.
Ye Luo smiled and leaned against the wall, falling asleep imdiately. However, in the middle of the night, he was suddenly awakened by screams and saw Mingyue’s face contorted in pain, her eyes closed and muttering sothing incessantly.
"Don’t kill my mom and dad, don’t kill my mom and dad..."
With her hands flailing, Mingyue kept shouting, as if caught in so nightmare.
"Wake up, girl!" Ye Luo quickly went over, helped Mingyue up, and yelled, jolting her awake from the nightmare.
"Ye Luo!" When Mingyue saw Ye Luo, she suddenly clung tightly to his body, trembling.
"What’s wrong? Did you have a nightmare?" Ye Luo said, patting Mingyue’s shoulder. He never expected this brash and obstinate woman to have nightmares too.
Mingyue’s face was pale, her arms wrapped around Ye Luo, snuggling into his embrace, and she fell asleep again, leaving Ye Luo with a look of helplessness. He wanted to push her away, but she held onto him tightly, like a drowning person clutching desperately at a lifeline.
A new day arrived quickly, and sunlight stread into the cave from the outside.
Mingyue awoke and blinked her eyes, suddenly realizing sothing was amiss, she was lying in Ye Luo’s arms.
"Ah!"
With a scream, Mingyue pushed Ye Luo away, causing him, who was still asleep, to fall to the ground and wake up.
"What’s wrong with you, girl? What were you trying to do?" Ye Luo touched his head where it hit the ground and looked at Mingyue.
"You bastard, what did you do to last night?" Mingyue held one hand to her chest and pointed at Ye Luo accusingly.
"I didn’t do anything! What’s with you?" Ye Luo looked at her with a helpless expression.
"How’s that possible? If you didn’t do anything to , how co I ended up in your arms?" Mingyue was full of disbelief.
Ye Luo stood up, walked over to Mingyue, touched her forehead, and said, "You’re not feverish, are you? Don’t you rember what happened last night?"
"Last night..." Mingyue furrowed her brows as she recalled the events of the previous night.
"You had a nightmare on your own, then I woke you from it, only to find yourself lying in my arms, hugging and refusing to let go. Now you’re blaming , right?" Ye Luo looked completely innocent.
"Is that so? I don’t rember, but it seems like it." Mingyue muttered.
Ye Luo looked at Mingyue, completely baffled by her, and walked straight out.
"I’m sorry, I misunderstood you before."
As she stepped out of the cave, Mingyue approached Ye Luo with an apologetic expression.
"I’m very curious, what kind of nightmare did you have last night that scared you so much? Could it be that you’ve done sothing guilty?"
"Get lost, you’re the one who’s done sothing guilty." Mingyue glared at Ye Luo without a good temper, then her expression turned sowhat solemn, with a hint of sadness in her eyes, making her whole presence suddenly seem a bit desolate.
"Last night I dreamt about the scene where my parents were murdered." Mingyue said, her head low and her tone somber.
"Your parents were killed?" Ye Luo asked in surprise.
Mingyue nodded and said, "My parents were killed right in front of when I was five years old. If it hadn’t been for an expert from the Special Security Bureau arriving in ti, I would probably be dead by now. Since then, I often dream about my parents’ murder when I sleep at night, always waking up terribly frightened."
"Do you know who killed your parents?" Ye Luo couldn’t help asking.
