Tyler’s back hit the wall with a thud, his breath coming in ragged, panicked gasps. His face was a mask of sheer terror, his eyes wide and bloodshot, his lips peeled back in a snarl of desperation.

"QUICK!" he shrieked, his voice cracking with hysteria. "SHOOT HIM TO DEATH! NO MATTER WHAT HE IS—I DON’T BELIEVE HE CAN SURVIVE THIS!"

The bodyguards, still frozen in shock, jolted into action at his command. Their hands fumbled for their holsters, fingers trembling as they drew their pistols. I moved in a blur, yanking Angela behind just as the first muzzle flash lit up the room.

BANG!

The bullet struck my shoulder. The fabric of my shirt exploded outward in a burst of torn threads, the impact sending a shockwave through my body—but no pain. No blood. Just the dull, tallic thunk of a bullet hitting an impenetrable wall. The projectile deford on contact, flattening like a coin before clattering to the floor.

BANG! BANG!

Two more shots—one to the chest, one to the stomach. My shirt shredded under the onslaught, the bullets punching through the fabric only to fall uselessly at my feet. The bodyguards’ eyes widened in horror as they realized their weapons were doing nothing.

"KEEP SHOOTING!" Tyler scread, spittle flying from his lips. "KILL HIM! KILL HIM NOW!"

The room erupted into a storm of gunfire.

BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!

Bullets rained down on from every angle. My clothes were reduced to rags, the air filled with the acrid stench of gunpowder and the deafening roar of gunshots. Each impact sent a jolt through my body, the force of the bullets pushing back half a step—but my skin remained unbroken. Not a single drop of blood. Not a scratch.

One of the bodyguards, his face twisted in panic, took a step closer, pressing his gun directly against my temple.

"DIE!" he roared, pulling the trigger.

BANG!

The bullet struck my forehead—right between the eyes—and ricocheted off with a tallic ping, spinning wildly before embedding itself in the wall behind . My vision didn’t even flicker.

Angela let out a bloodcurdling scream, "MIKE!", her voice raw with terror. She clutched at my arm, her nails digging into my skin as if she could shield from the onslaught. But I didn’t need shielding.

The bodyguards stumbled back, their guns clicking empty. One by one, they dropped their weapons, their faces ashen, their bodies shaking. "W-what the fuck...?" one of them stamred, his voice breaking. "W-what the fuck is he?!"

Tyler had collapsed to his knees, his breath coming in ragged, hyperventilating gasps. "N-no... no, no, NO!" he sobbed, his hands clawing at his own face. "This isn’t happening! This isn’t FUCKING HAPPENING!"

The last bodyguard, his gun trembling in his grip, fired one final, desperate shot—point-blank at my heart.

BANG!

The bullet flattened against my chest and dropped to the floor like a discarded pebble.

Silence.

The only sound in the room was Tyler’s broken whimpers and Angela’s ragged breathing. The bodyguards stood frozen, their faces drained of color, their eyes locked onto as if I were so unholy abomination.

I reached up, brushing my fingers over my chest where the bullets had struck. My skin was unmarked. Untouched. Invincible.

Angela’s grip on my arm tightened, her voice a shaken whisper. "Mike... what are you?"

I didn’t answer. Instead, I turned my gaze to Tyler, who was now curled into a fetal position on the floor, his body wracked with sobs. "You should have walked away," I said, my voice low, deadly calm.

The bodyguards scrambled back, pressing themselves against the walls as if they could escape what was coming. One of them let out a whimper, "Please... please, we didn’t know—!"

The spent bullet casings crunched beneath my boots like the bones of the dead as I stepped forward, my shadow stretching long and dark across the floor, swallowing Tyler whole.

The air in the room had turned thick, suffocating, the scent of gunpowder and fear clinging to every surface. The bodyguards pressed themselves against the walls, their breath coming in ragged, terrified gasps. One of them was openly weeping, his hands shaking violently.

"Now," I said, my voice a low, deadly growl that seed to vibrate through the very walls, "you’re going to learn what real despair feels like."

With a slow, deliberate motion, I reached up and pulled off the mask—the magical tool that had concealed my true face from the world. The mont it ca free, a wave of dark energy rippled through the room, extinguishing the lights for a single, heart-stopping second. When the dim glow returned, my real face was revealed.

Tyler’s eyes widened in sheer, unadulterated horror. His face twisted in terror, his lips trembling as he scrambled backward, his heels digging into the marble floor. "H-he’s the Devil!" he shrieked, his voice breaking into a high-pitched wail. "PLEASE! I BEG YOU, MASTER! LET GO! I’LL TRADE YOU MY SOUL! ANYTHING! JUST DON’T—!"

His words dissolved into a choked sob as a dark stain spread across the front of his pants. The acrid stench of urine filled the air, mixing with the tallic tang of fear-sweat. His body convulsed, his hands clawing at the floor as if he could dig his way to safety.

Angela let out a strangled gasp, her grip on my arm turning painful as she stumbled back, her eyes locked onto my face. "Mike...?" she whispered, her voice trembling with disbelief. "What are you?"

I didn’t answer her. My gaze remained fixed on Tyler, who was now pressing his forehead to the ground, his body shaking violently. "rcy, My lord!" he whimpered, snot and tears streaming down his face. "I’ll give you everything! My fortune! My n! My life! Just spare !"

The bodyguards had fallen to their knees, their faces ashen, their hands clasped in prayer. One of them was babbling incoherently, his lips moving in silent pleas. Another had begun to rock back and forth, his eyes rolled back in his head as if he’d seen sothing that had shattered his mind.

I crouched down in front of Tyler, my fingers brushing against his trembling shoulder. He flinched as if I’d burned him, a whimper escaping his lips.

"You should have been more careful with your threats," I murmured, my voice a dark caress. "Now you’ve seen what happens when you provoke sothing you don’t understand."

Tyler’s breath hitched, his body going rigid with terror. "P-please..." he stamred, his voice barely a whisper. "I didn’t know! I didn’t know!"

I tilted my head slightly, studying him like a scientist examining a particularly pathetic specin. "Oh, but you did," I said softly. "Deep down, you always knew. You just thought you were untouchable." I stood, my shadow looming over him once more. "And now you’ll learn the cost of your arrogance."
