"Miss, Miss..."
"Hmm? What's the matter, why are you so alard?"
In Japan, inside Bai Xue's residence.
Everyone around knew that Bai Xue, who devoted her heart to work, disliked interruptions. Unless it was sothing very important.
Seeing the maid enter quickly, although Bai Xue showed a displeased expression, her face imdiately turned tense.
"Is there news about that person?"
"Yes, Miss, there is news about him."
"Where?" As expected, Bai Xue asked with a face full of expectation.
"Miss, please don't be sad or upset after hearing this." The maid prepared Bai Xue ntally first.
"Could it be that he's really dead?"
"No, Miss, he's alive, and well. It's just..."
"Just what?"
"It's just today he sent soone with an engagent cancellation letter to the Eldest Master, and the Eldest Master just had it delivered, so, this..."
"Engagent cancellation?" Bai Xue was full of confusion; when did the captain ever get engaged to her?
Umm? Wait? The one who got engaged to her before was... could it be he...
Upon hearing, Bai Xue imdiately grabbed the letter, opened it, and took a look.
Sure enough, it was indeed an engagent cancellation, and although she didn't bother reading through the black newspaper text, she just looked at the na signed at the end.
Lingze... so it really was him; he's actually not dead.
Bai Xue sighed inwardly, casually placed the letter aside, and indicated for the maid to leave first.
This was her fiancé, clearly alive, yet not a word and the first news of him being alive she gets is of an engagent cancellation.
However, to Bai Xue, it was irrelevant; she didn't care about this person's survival. During the three-month arduous search, she hadn't thought about her fiancé at all, not even ntioning his na once.
Bai Xue's mind was always on Xiaofan; whether he was still alive, when he could co back, and let her help find the antidote for the White Scorpion again.
This ti, without any conditions, without any transaction, just co back, just say a word...
However, after waiting for three months, he still did not appear again.
The scene shifts back to the base in Kyoto, where Uncle Zhong was in a eting room with his subordinates.
The newcor was wrapped in bandages, wearing a hat.
Appearing in front of everyone in such a manner inevitably made people feel uncomfortable.
Upon hearing the other party call out his na from XG, Uncle Zhong was sowhat shocked.
As the other party removed his hat, despite how unbelievable it was, he was standing right there in front of him.
"Lingze? You're actually not dead?"
Bandages covered the other's face, leaving only the eyes and nostrils for breathing. After the hat was removed, although the outline was blurry, Uncle Zhong recognized him at once.
Lingze no longer had that charming and extraordinary appearance, his head was shaved bald, surrounded by burn scars, unbearable to look at.
The reason for Uncle Zhong's surprise was that he indeed received news of Lingze's death earlier. However, why is he alive again three months later?
"Why? Are you unhappy seeing alive?" Lingze's question did not carry any sarcastic tone, rather he was sitting quite composedly on the chair.
Indeed, there was no longer any trace of his forrly arrogant deanor. After this ordeal of life and death, he had grown more mature.
"No, just too surprised. What exactly... happened?"
"Phew..." heaving a heavy sigh upon hearing the inquiry, Lingze tossed the hat onto the table casually, appearing indifferent to his ruined appearance. Being able to save his life was already fortunate enough; what's appearance worth?
Looking at the hand missing a few fingers, Lingze's eyes were filled with fury. Gradually he recollected the scene under the blazing fire before.
Betrayed by Ye Xiaofan, kidnapped on the wedding night due to inferior skills.
A series of sches enveloped him, an utter humiliation.
After exhausting all tricks, Lingze lay poisoned in the sea of fire.
This was ant to make Lingze die a more painful death set by Xiaofan, but at that ti, Xiaofan had to rush to ambush Muto, having no ti to watch Lingze's demise, this gave him a chance to survive.
And you can't bla Xiaofan for the oversight; Tang Sect's poison was reliable enough, plus a raging fire?
What Xiaofan didn't know, however, was that Lingze had taken the White Scorpion's antidote before. This is why his power suddenly surged, almost reaching Li San's level.
It was this antidote containing Three-color Figs that prevented Lingze's imdiate death.
Three-color Figs could neutralize all poisons, making the consur almost invulnerable to poison. But the antidote he consud only included a portion of the figs, not whole. Thus, barely surviving, the fire still left him terribly burned.
Struggling to crawl out of the fake police station, he also collapsed directly, on the brink of death.
Even though people from the Special High Class eventually found Lingze and brought him to the hospital, the hospital was helpless.
Severely burned, several internal organs were deteriorating, with a fever over 42 degrees. Saving him was virtually impossible.
Lingze surviving eventually was really thanks to Muto's persistence to the end, not giving up on this disciple.
Indeed, upon hearing that Lingze was still alive on the island and then learning he wouldn't last the night, Muto decisively injected him with the Mutant serum.
Treating a dead horse like a living one... The Mutant serum could greatly enhance human muscle and skin, while reviving damaged organs.
If successful, Lingze could survive, if not... at most a lost vial of serum.
You have to admit, Lingze's life was indeed tough, enduring. With a success rate of a few percentage points, he indeed survived.
Ironically, both Xiaofan and Lingze survived due to Three-color Figs.
Now, both are still alive in this world, are they truly destined to be lifelong adversaries? To continue trembling until one is dead?
Who knows what might happen next? At least, our Ye Xiaofan is still trapped on that island unable to return ho, while Lingze has successfully taken up the position of head of the base.
"Sorry, the news of my survival was kept secret because of Professor Muto's idea. After all, Black Mantis's cohorts are in Kyoto, if they knew I was alive, they'd definitely co for my life. Originally, I planned to wait for Professor Muto's return and start afresh, but..."
