This is the first ti Uncle Zhong has seen Lingze this agitated, almost panicky, since he beca the Sect Leader.
The competition had just ended a few hours ago; he shouldn't be losing his composure like this.
But as soon as the na Ye Xiaofan ca up, Uncle Zhong understood why.
Though he was reluctant to believe Ye Xiaofan was still alive, Lingze's judgnt has always been spot on, so Uncle Zhong didn't hesitate at all, and imdiately contacted the organizers in M Country, the top officials of the Cross Assassination Society.
The reaction from the Cross Society was swift as well; they had also begun to feel that there were so oddities with the results of this competition. Lingze's notification made them realize the truth.
However, when they went back to find them, Xiaofan and the others had already counted their Life Cards and left simple personal information before leaving, each finding their own sports car and driving away. Only fools would stay here waiting for them to react.
"Sect Leader, they've already left."
"Damn it, we've been played." Lingze angrily slapped the table, stood up, and paced back and forth across the room.
Everything that was designed perfectly was given an unexpected twist at the last mont, and a major one at that.
If that guy really is who we think he is, not only would it explain everything, but the final result of this competition would be unbearable to witness.
"Sect Leader, is it really him?" Uncle Zhong hadn't yet figured out exactly what had happened.
Of course, if Uncle Zhong could understand it, he would be in the current position instead of Lingze.
"I don't know. But if it's not him, there's absolutely no one else who could pull off such a feat. Just wait, once the final result cos out, this competition will probably be ruined. Where's Ling San? Has Ling San appeared? Can he make it into the top ten? Notify the people over there imdiately, use whatever ans necessary to collect as many assassins as possible, regardless of their ranking, and offer high benefits if necessary."
"Wouldn't it be too early to draw such conclusions?" Uncle Zhong asked skeptically.
"Early? Out of over four hundred people, half of them are already gone. How many people could be left? Probably not even two hundred. Out of two hundred, besides half that can save themselves, there's a portion sent by other assassin organizations. How many could be left? Hurry up; if we're late, we won't even get scraps."
"Alright, right away."
And what if we do get them? Could it be that Xiaofan only wanted to ruin this one competition of yours?
Sure enough, as dusk approached, batches of assassins started erging from the jungle.
By noon the next day, within twenty-four hours, only one hundred and twelve assassins had erged.
Among them, the highest Life Card ranking still belonged to Xiaofan, with fifty cards; the top four rankings hadn't changed. Fifth place had twenty-four cards, sixth place had twenty-two cards, and seventh place, Ling San sent by Lingze, had twenty cards.
With just these top seven contestants alone accounting for half of the total, what about the others? What can they do?
Those who ca out one by one were either severely injured, missing limbs, or had gone an entire week without engaging in combat.
Assassins ranked 18th to 62nd all possessed only two Life Cards, and those ranked 62nd to 112th all had just one Life Card.
This not only failed to yield effective results, but many elite sent in by assassin organizations didn't even co out alive.
For example, Ray Green ranked seventh in the world assassin rankings. John Smith ranked ninth, others ranked thirteenth, fourteenth, seventeenth, all died inside. And all their Life Cards were accounted for by that guy who ranked first.
"Ye Xiaofan, you're truly not dead, huh."
Though it's not a hundred percent confird and Lingze's report to the top that Ye Xiaofan might not be dead was ignored, he still firmly believed only Ye Xiaofan could do this.
And once the result was out, even Uncle Zhong was left dumbstruck; to discover so many facts right after the competition ended was truly remarkable.
But for Lingze, he was thoroughly defeated this ti. Because, if he were truly remarkable, he would have noticed earlier instead of becoming a 'Monday morning quarterback'.
Now, the Assassination Order seems so powerless, trying to manufacture authority to chase after Li San and others is unrealistic. Furthermore, if Ye Xiaofan really is alive, even spending vast amounts of money might not find an assassin powerful enough to hunt him down.
Because, assassin organizations around the world cannot afford to lose more top talents.
He hadn't even caught a glimpse of Ye Xiaofan's shadow the entire ti. Moreover, with Huaxia brimming with talent, who knows if another figure like Ye Xiaofan will erge?
But, with Lingze's knowledge of Ye Xiaofan, he could hardly imagine who else could be so ruthless, so thorough, if not him. Dealing blows leaving him utterly defenseless.
Three days later, the competition results were out.
Xiaofan ranked first with fifty Life Cards, with Han, Shen Zuimo, and Leng Yue's rankings unchanged.
Over one hundred and fifty assassins erged alive, but thirty-two were injured, and eleven were permanently disabled.
Among them, around thirty were sent by organizations to recruit mbers, and as for the rest, there's less than thirty elite identifiable among them. Yet, these many organizations splitting thirty elite weren't enough to cover the cost of hosting the competition, not even enough to compensate for the losses of those sent to compete.
This was a competition that sent invitations worldwide, attracting attention far beyond the Assassin World. Nurous countries silently followed the events surrounding this competition.
Assassins who obtained two Life Cards were classified as elite, while those with only one Life Card could enter the top hundred in the new ranking board - what a laughable result!
Of course, the most attention went to the top four ranked individuals. Oh, correction, two people tied with forty Life Cards each, so they shared third place.
Originally Xiaofan wanted four people to share first, but official certification stated there could only be one first and one second place. If the vote count were the sa, the one erging first would be first. That's why Xiaofan arranged for Leng Yue and Zuimo to both rank third.
"Zuimo, what are you thinking about? Not talking?" During dinner, Shen Zuimo wasn't eating, just quietly pondering, causing Xiaofan to look over in puzzlent.
"Xiaofan, isn't this getting out of hand? That mutant we've fought with could easily tell we use Martial Arts Techniques from Huaxia, and Han Shengjun's bombs are notably well-known. Those from Japan seem to be familiar with us too, evident from the Assassination Order. If they guess you're not dead, your na might be added to the Assassination Order." It turns out Shen Zuimo's concerns revolved around this.
