A broad hand suddenly rested on Lin Miaoke's shoulder.
The furious Lin Miaoke suddenly felt a tremor in her heart.
Xiaofan gently patted twice, signaling her to calm down first.
Lin Miaoke glanced at Xiaofan and lowered her head.
She, being a police officer, felt powerless watching criminals so rampant and victims losing their freedom. This anguish can only be truly understood by her.
Hating evil and promoting good were goals she aspired to since childhood. Although she originally did not want to beco a police officer, family influence led her to choose this career. However, after becoming a police officer, she truly loved her profession, fulfilling her responsibilities.
"Let's go."
"Take your hand off, I'm fine now."
"Alright, let lean again."
"Don't take advantage of ." This guy's other aspects were fine, but this was what Lin Miaoke found annoying.
With a slight force, Lin Miaoke pushed Xiaofan away.
Yes, she pushed him away with one hand. Was he really that weak?
Xiaofan staggered, looking at Lin Miaoke with a helpless smile.
Actually, due to excessive blood loss, Xiaofan felt sowhat dizzy. If it weren't for the mask he wore, his face would be pale as snow.
"Tell , what case have you been pursuing?" Xiaofan asked while walking forward.
"Missing persons."
"Hmm? The ones locked in the cages?" Xiaofan asked calmly.
"Probably. But we've seen only thirty or forty people, only a tenth of the record."
"So many? How did you find the Snake Head lead?"
"By visiting the hos of missing people, we learned that a large portion were lured to the Capital City via online and mobile job ads. Soone once taught how to solve this kind of case."
"Really? That was an old case, and there's still no result?" Xiaofan asked, surprised.
Yes, Xiaofan previously taught Lin Miaoke case-solving skills but then went missing in Japan. But wasn't that over a year ago? Still no results?
The reported missing persons numbered three to four hundred, but how many more went unreported?
"Did you hear about this case?"
"Ah? Maybe. I think I saw it sowhere." Xiaofan fibbed.
"We've been investigating shell companies, but they're deeply hidden. I discovered the Snake Head lead after personally staking out for a week. It's late, they're too rampant, treating these people's lives as a joke. These poor people have their organs harvested, buried alive in these mountains."
"Buried in these mountains I agree, but who told you they lured people here to sell organs?" Xiaofan replied softly.
"Not organs? Then what are they doing to expend so much effort?" Lin Miaoke asked, puzzled.
"What? You're jumping to conclusions without evidence?" Xiaofan chuckled. "Police can't conclude cases like that."
"We only have preliminary guesses. If not organ trafficking, then why did they abduct so many people? Those in white coats are organ harvesting doctors, aren't they?" Despite lacking any evidence, the police judgnt wouldn't be far off, right?
"Profit from organ trafficking is undeniable. But do you think they'd take such risks for this money? If it were organ trafficking, why has the police found no leads for so long, only missing persons? Where are their sales channels?" Xiaofan began his reasoning.
"Our lack of leads doesn't an they didn't do it." Lin Miaoke countered Xiaofan's statent.
Though knowing his intelligence, his superior attitude was annoying, as she was the police, trained to solve cases, yet appeared childish before him.
"Look at their capability. Not to ntion their numbers, but to control this forest silently and build such a large base requires massive funds, right? If they're financially secure, why risk human trafficking or organ trading?"
Reasonable, with no grounds for refutation. Xiaofan always left her speechless.
"But the missing persons case definitely points to this base, this organization. We haven't targeted wrongly."
"Hey, you got that right. But it took too long."
"I'll issue an apology to the deceased's families personally."
Lin Miaoke, foolishly shouldering the bla alone, misunderstood Xiaofan's ti criticism as fault-finding.
"Now's not the ti to assign bla. Plus, you found the Snake Head lead. Without you, it might not have surfaced."
Xiaofan, sensing Lin Miaoke's feelings, hurriedly reassured her.
"Hey, if not organ trafficking, then why lure these people to the Capital City?" Lin Miaoke suddenly asked.
This girl's change of mood was swift—she quickly shifted from feeling guilty to asking questions.
This was occupational habit. Without clarity, Lin Miaoke felt uneasy.
"Have you heard of Mutants?"
"Mutants?"
"Yes."
"Heard of them, but not in detail. Could it be...?" Suddenly, Lin Miaoke looked at the white-coated n under the glass with sudden realization: "No way! How would you know? Are you part of them?"
"Hehe." Faced with Lin Miaoke's suspicion, Xiaofan chuckled lightly: "Look at those in white coats, if they were surgeons, they'd have scalpels, not those bottles and jars."
