The nurse glanced at the focused father-in-law but couldn't bring herself to ask for his help again, even when the life at stake was that of her own husband, the father-in-law's only son.
The injured was one of the doctors rushing to the front line, his abdon slashed open by bomb fragnts, with intestines spilling out. It seed there were fragnts still lodged inside. Without tily surgery, he would certainly die.
A doctor's benevolence, for Doctor Song, ant that every patient lying here was teetering on the line between life and death. At this mont, he was just a doctor, bound to fulfill his responsibilities as one. Only then was he a father.
The daughter-in-law was rely a nurse, unfamiliar with surgeries. Yet, right now, all the doctors were engaged in ergency treatnt of the wounded, with many more still in line, while her husband could only lie on a stretcher outside the ward, waiting for an available doctor.
"Where is the injured? Let have a look…"
Just as the nurse ca out of the ward tearfully, a voice suddenly ca to her ear.
"Hm. You?" She looked at the boy in front of her. The nurse was montarily stunned…
"Hurry up."
At this mont, ti was of the essence, and Xiaofan was about to race against it. He had to save him before Death God arrived.
These were brothers sacrificing for the country, shedding blood on the battlefield, aware of the mortal danger, yet their steps never faltered. Their spirit was admirable, their courage comndable. However, surviving was still best.
"Suture the wound. I'm going to check on my son."
Twenty minutes later, Doctor Song finally completed the surgery, made a couple of stitches, then imdiately instructed the nurse assistant beside him to continue suturing. He quickly went to check on his son.
Twenty minutes, was it still in ti?
When he found his son, he saw his daughter-in-law tightly holding his son's hand, sitting beside him. The monitors beside showed everything was normal. However, recent stitches were visible on the abdon.
"Cold Ice Willow Silk Needle?" Seeing a few needles on his son's abdon, Doctor Song suddenly widened his eyes: "Teacher Ye?"
"Dad, it's okay now, there's no longer any life-threatening danger." The daughter-in-law, seeing her father-in-law, wept with joy.
"Who perford surgery on Jiaming?" Doctor Song hurriedly asked.
"A young fellow, seed like a newcor just back from field training. I didn't have the chance to ask his na..."
"A young man? You watch over Jiaming, I have other wounded to attend to."
"Yeah, you go ahead. Jiaming is here with ."
The daughter-in-law didn't bla her father-in-law for not attending to her husband at that mont. She knew his character, and even if her husband knew, he certainly wouldn't bla him either. They were such people, living by their principles, not for fa.
"Hey, isn't it strange, how'd all those fractures get treated at once? My god, no need for bandages even?"
"Wow, I'm alive, my ribs were broken, three of them! Who was that who saved ? So amazing, I thought he was going to kill , but he pinched my broken rib hard, and suddenly it's fixed? Without even opening up?"
"Damn, I can't wait anymore, I'm getting discharged imdiately, those bastards, I thought they were going to surrender, but they played dirty."
"Who knows who helped us with the bone fixing just now? It all happened in a flash."
"Yeah, didn't even see what he looked like. Although I think I'm pretty handso, I can definitely say this guy who saved us must be a bit handsor than ..."
At the mont, this slightly more handso guy continued wandering the corridors of the dical unit. Whenever he saw soone in need of help, within his capacity, he would stop and save them first.
If it was a minor injury, not life-threatening, he'd leave it to the nurses. Seeing a fracture, he'd reach out and feel it; if there were no bone fragnts, he'd join it imdiately.
"Hold on, just hold on a bit longer, a doctor will be here shortly."
"Nurse, Nurse Miss, it's okay, I'm not afraid to die. It's just, my son is due next month, I'm so, so regretful, I so, so want to see what my son looks like, can you, can you relay my last words to my wife..."
"Don't talk, just hold on a bit longer, your breathing is still normal, your lung is only slightly grazed. If treated in ti, it'll be fine, hold on."
"My, my breath can't keep up. Tell my wife I love her, if there's a next life, I..."
"This life isn't over yet, next life is too far off, best to focus on the present." Xiaofan briskly walked over, Willow Silk Needle flashed, piercing into the right chest through the clothes.
"What, what are you doing?"
"Quiet. Step aside." Xiaofan imdiately pressed his hand on the injured chest, transmitting Inner Strength slowly to protect the damaged area. Lung injury was no small matter, but if the person was just experiencing difficulty breathing without coughing, it implied the bleeding wasn't severe.
"What's wrong with you, don't you know he's seriously injured? Hey, soone, there's a madman here..."
The nurse's calling didn't draw much attention, everyone was busy, not noticing other matters.
"Quiet…" Xiaofan shouted in anger again. Right now, all he could do was preserve his life; only waiting for a doctor to perform lung surgery could cure it. With the nuisance and the people around making noise, Xiaofan couldn't hold back his voice either.
'Smack.'
A loud slap resounded, the little nurse girl unexpectedly landed a hard slap on Xiaofan's face.
"I warn you, if you keep ssing around, I will, I will..."
Xiaofan cast the nurse a glance but didn't respond, taking the slap as it was. Compared to human life, this slap was nothing.
Seeing Xiaofan only gave her a stern look without further response, the nurse was taken aback.
"Breathe slowly, see if it still hurts." After Xiaofan finished, he casually asked.
Hearing this, the injured took a light breath, finding his breathing had eased.
"Take it easy, don't remove this needle yet. You're still in life-threatening danger, once surgery is done you'll be fine. Rest assured, this needle will keep you alive for three hours."
"Th-thank you..."
"You're welco..." Xiaofan nodded to him, then stood up, looking at the woman who slapped him. He walked over step by step.
