"Hey, let ask you all, why did Li Kuo leave behind the comfortable life of a young master to follow Xiaofan on such dangerous missions? You all know, right?" Lei Xiaolei asked softly.
"We know, it's because his dad... hmm?" Li San frowned deeply, "Could it be that guy has been investigating Red Butterfly for the past two months?"
"Shh, don't speak so loudly." Ren Ying gave a sidelong glance, "When we set off, Li Kuo whispered sothing to Xiaofan, and after that, Xiaofan's expression beca very serious."
"Hey, maybe they're going to take down Red Butterfly's hideout?" Han Shengjun, always eager for action, sidled over excitedly at the ntion of a big battle.
"Yeah, and it's bound to be more dangerous than anything we've encountered..." Xiaolei continued.
"Damn, then what are you all waiting for? Just keep playing!" At this point, Li San felt they had to seize the mont and enjoy it.
"I an, I want to return to Yanhuang Soul, not really in the mood," Ren Ying pouted.
"Right, we can't let Xiaofan and Li Kuo carry all the burden on their shoulders. If it weren't for Xiaofan, I might never have had the chance to do sothing so significant in my life. Live life more interestingly." Lei Xiaolei added.
"Going back won't help either, every ti I try to co up with ideas, they're just bad ones. Better let Xiaofan think quietly and we just follow through," Li San said.
"True..."
"What's up with Xiaofan? Quietly thinking about what? What's he planning on doing now?"
At this point, Chen i'Er walked over from the side. Whenever she saw Li San and the others, she would show up and inquire about Xiaofan.
"Hey, lady, you have no idea. Xiaofan, that guy, he's so unruly. He arrives at a training base and instead of just training properly, he sses around with things like Silver Needle Hemostasis, ends up getting gifts from all the nurses in the dical departnt, and even got kissed! Can you believe it?" Seeing Chen i'Er, Li San imdiately tattled like before.
"So what if he got kissed, it's not like they went to bed. Spill it, what's he planning now?" Even knowing Xiaofan didn't want her to worry, missing soone without word from them was tornting.
"Lady, this ti we really don't know. He hasn't told us and didn't co with us to have fun either."
'Ring ring...' At this mont, Li San's phone rang on the table.
The screen showed a ssage from Xiaofan. Before Li San could pick it up, Chen i'Er swiftly grabbed the phone and opened the ssage.
"Huh? He says he's going with Li Kuo to M Country to see Li Kuo's mother? He tells you to have fun for another one or two days, and the newbies must return to their original teams for training tomorrow morning," Chen i'Er read out softly.
"To M Country?" Li San looked at his mates with confusion, it didn't match their previous assumptions: "Hey, give my phone back."
"Let use it, I want to chat with him for a bit." Saying this, Chen i'Er took Li San's phone and sat at the bar, ignoring them.
"Seems like we overthought it." Li San pouted, "If they're going to M Country, looks like there won't be any big fight."
"Wrong, this is probably before the big battle, he wants to see his mother and beloved one more ti." Ren Ying, while not speaking much usually, had very clear thoughts.
"Yeah, Xiaofan also texted , asking if I wanted to go with them." Han Shengjun said, taking out his phone calmly.
"Are you going?" Li San asked.
"Nah, I'll let Li Kuo send so photos back." Actually, Han Shengjun was ntally prepared, his sister's issues were all settled with Li Kuo's help, so he didn't have to worry anymore.
"Then, let's continue having fun."
anwhile, the newcors sat around staring at each other. These so-called seniors before them, so even younger in age, had vastly superior skills than theirs, and they had no idea what was happening based on their conversation. Could it be that the boss is planning sothing earth-shattering?
"What's the boss going to do?" He Qiang asked curiously.
"Don't ask what you shouldn't. Head back in the morning and train properly. If Xiaofan cos back and sees you haven't made any progress, be careful he doesn't skin you alive."
Li San wasn't rely trying to scare the newcors. During training, Xiaofan never lost his temper, but whenever soone didn't et the standards, those newcors truly suffered. It was incredible that these guys hadn't yet asked to rejoin their teams.
anwhile, at Yanhuang Soul, Shen Zuimo's dorm.
Tonight, Shen Zuimo had spent over an hour in a shooting dodge training at the training ground. Returning to the dorm, the light was already on. Needless to say, that guy had again sneaked into her room.
Opening the door, just as she was about to angrily scold Xiaofan, a small exquisite cake was already placed on the table. Then, closing the door suddenly, the candles on the cake were already lit, casting a hazy glow.
"Today's not my birthday, what are you doing with such childish stuff?" Shen Zuimo cast a glance at Xiaofan standing behind the cake, asking coldly. Then she casually turned on the light.
Childish, extrely childish. This guy always did these unbelievably childish things in front of her, yet no one had ever done these childish things for her before.
"I never said today was your birthday."
"Then why buy a cake? Can't you be a bit more mature?"
Shen Zuimo slowly took off her jacket, her smooth skin appearing particularly lustrous in the light.
As she intended to hang up the jacket, her attention was caught by a few words on the cake, and she stopped in her tracks.
The cake read, Anniversary of Our First eting.
A year? Three hundred and sixty-five days. Not long and not short.
On this day a year ago, she had escaped from Red Butterfly and ca to H City, wondering what bad karma she had accumulated in her past life to encounter this guy.
"Why did you go to Phoenix Mountain a year ago?" Shen Zuimo rembered very clearly what happened before her amnesia. That ti should have already been late at night; what was he doing in such a place?
"I wanted to chase a girl from my class, so I went to the mountain to photograph a teor shower. When I saw you, I thought you were a ghost girl. Want to make a wish..."
