Lin Hongbin and his team have seen a lot in their ti.
But what kind of scene would make even them feel fear?
The piercing cries of despair can be heard everywhere, and before them, corpses are piled one after another without even being covered with a white cloth, as masked n in lab coats push them out on carts.
Just a glance was enough to make Lin Hongbin almost nauseous to the point of vomiting.
This, it truly seems like Human Purgatory.
Only a minority of these people are of Asian descent; the majority are refugees taken in by Japan.
The expressions on those corpses each show extre pain. Their eyes nearly bulging out. Faces distorted. Limbs twisted. One can imagine the imnse suffering they endured before death.
As they walked deeper, they saw the laboratory. From a distance, Lin Hongbin saw people sedated with drugs, sent onto the operating table. Then, drugs were injected into their hearts, neck veins, and limbs.
In less than two minutes, the man tied to the operating table began to tremble, as if his whole body was convulsing, his expression extrely painful, writhing, and veins popping.
Yet they could only open their mouths wide without uttering a sound, struggling with only muffled groans.
A sudden cracking noise ca from the bound limbs—yes, the pain was so imnse that their survival instinct led them to struggle desperately, even to the point of breaking bones due to the intensity of the struggle. Even so, his convulsing body did not stop. But from afar, Lin Hongbin could clearly sense the man's life was slowly ebbing away.
Another two minutes passed, and a doctor in a lab coat, who had been observing by the side, slowly walked to the man. By now the man had stopped moving, and the instrunts showed no signs of life.
Seeing this, the man in the lab coat reached out to check the pulse, then shook his head, instructing others to take the corpse away for disposal.
At this point, Lin Hongbin was sure of Xiaofan's intelligence reports; the research success rate of the mutants was very low.
Further down should be where the living test subjects are held, and those cries of despair are coming from there.
Then, as Lin Hongbin and Xiao Zifeng grasped the reality before them in an instant, they felt a strong urge to level this weapons factory, so that the trapped refugees could live free.
However, they could do nothing yet. If conflict erupted here, they might be the ones on that operating table tomorrow.
"Lin, what do we do now?" Xiao Zifeng asked softly.
"Let's withdraw first, report back to the base... Hmm? A foreigner?" Just as Lin Hongbin was about to leave, he suddenly saw a tall foreigner slowly walking into a room.
"What's up?"
"For Japan to allow a foreigner to enter such a secretive place casually indicates that this foreigner is likely the one who brought the mutant research data here; even if not, he has a significant connection to the matter."
Since we're here, leaving with just a bit of information doesn't seem worth the plane tickets.
"So what?"
"Let's catch him for questioning, get a detailed understanding of what's going on here, and ask if the HLY007 data is here by the way."
"Alright."
After reaching an agreent, they waited for the foreigner to co out of the room.
Sure enough, after less than three minutes, the foreigner ca out of the room, having exchanged his lab coat for a clean suit, and walked out the door.
They followed him all the way yet hesitated to take action, given the nurous patrolling guards nearby—a single sound would draw their attention.
Finally, after trailing him for a while, Lin Hongbin found an excellent opportunity to strike.
At that mont, the foreigner suddenly stopped, engaging in conversation with two guards.
Three people, Zifeng probably could take two down at once—shouldn't be difficult. Then I can control the foreigner; everything will go smoothly.
So Lin Hongbin moved, masked killing intent, then at the right mont, suddenly dashed towards the foreigner from the shadows.
With a flash of cold light, the bright dagger was placed upon the foreigner's throat, while another hand firmly gripped the foreigner's left hand.
The two guards engrossed in conversation didn't react imdiately.
As they realized soone was attacking the foreigner, they rushed forward.
Xiao Zifeng had already been lying in wait, and once the guards approached, a wave of his hand would seize their lives with cold steel.
But suddenly, Xiao Zifeng's previously confident face changed drastically.
The appearance of Lin Hongbin had already put the guards on alert, so when Xiao Zifeng launched his sneak attack, the two guards easily evaded it. Instantly, the two moved to counterattack against Xiao Zifeng.
It turned out, these two were not ordinary guards but skilled fighters hidden among the guards.
Even though Lin Hongbin managed to restrain the foreigner, upon seeing Xiao Zifeng already engaged in combat with the guards…
"Speak... the research on mutants you're conducting..."
"Don't you want to check on your good friend first?"
Luckily, Lin Hongbin's English was decent, fully comprehending what the foreigner ant.
He glanced over at Xiao Zifeng, preparing to continue the questioning when a terrifying aura suddenly erged.
At that mont, Lin Hongbin felt his wrist tightly held, making it impossible to slit the foreigner's throat as intended.
While it was rely a look, the distracted Lin Hongbin and the foreigner seed to have exchanged roles. Surprised by the foreigner's formidable combat skills, Lin Hongbin was taken aback.
Elsewhere, Xiaofan and the others were rushing to the factory, speculating that Lin Hongbin and his team had already made their move, yet ironically unable to reach them. Whether they encountered trouble remained unknown.
"Li Kuo, how's it going? Can you contact them?"
"Still nothing."
"Can you find their walkie-talkie channel?"
"I'm not Immortal, how is that possible? Try to recall!" Li Kuo anxiously said over the phone.
