The Forbidden Land was only one-tenth the size of Huanhai, roughly the size of a village in the mundane world. Qin Yu and Lin Haixin walked for less than a Chinese hour before they erged from the forest.
After leaving the forest, Qin Yu and Lin Haixin looked curiously towards the distance, where they saw large expanses of farmland with faint signs of people working the land.
The environnt of the Forbidden Land was incredibly harsh, much worse than Huanhai, with not only scarce nature’s spiritual energy but also barren soil.
The plants in the fields were very sparse and even yellowing!
"Husband, why don’t we go over and ask where Shen Yi lives?" Lin Haixin pointed to a old farr working in the distance.
"Xin’er, you are the daughter of the Phantom Kirin Sect, if the people of the Forbidden Land discover you, might they harm you?" Qin Yu frowned.
"Ah... it seems like they might. Should I wait here for you, Husband?"
"I wouldn’t feel at ease. How about this, I’ll disguise you, turning Xin’er into a little flower cat."
Having said that, Qin Yu didn’t wait for Lin Xin’er’s consent. He grabbed a few leaves, rubbed them into pulp, and sared the juice onto Lin Haixin’s face, turning her little face green.
Qin Yu tilted his head to look, and even with her face turned green, Lin Haixin was still very pretty.
This won’t do, Qin Yu glanced around and spotted a few red leaves in the distance. He picked the red leaves, rubbed them into pulp, and carefully dabbed the juice onto Lin Haixin’s face.
Now Lin Haixin had truly beco a little flower cat.
Lin Haixin found it quite amusing and didn’t stop Qin Yu, asking with curiosity, "Husband, do you have a mirror? I really want to know what I look like now."
"I don’t have a mirror. After we leave, you can see your reflection in the water of a pond."
Actually, Qin Yu did have a mirror, but fearing Lin Haixin might change her mind, he didn’t summon it.
"All right then, let’s go ask that elder."
Qin Yu and Lin Haixin walked briskly towards the farmland, where an old man who appeared to be in his sixties was smoking a dry tobacco pipe at the edge of the fields.
A sparkle flashed in Qin Yu’s eyes, and he summoned a pack of soft Zhonghua cigarettes from his Purple Micro Star Ring, walking up to offer one to the man.
Seeing the cigarette, the elder looked puzzled, "Young friend, what is this?"
"This is a cigarette, slightly more refined than the dry tobacco you are smoking. Try it," Qin Yu eagerly took out a lighter and assisted the elder in lighting the cigarette.
After taking a puff of the cigarette, the elder’s eyes lit up; the taste was indeed much better than dry tobacco!
"Where did you get this rare treat from, young friend? It really smokes nicely! Though, it does pack a little less of a punch! Got any more?"
After taking a few strong drags, the elder glanced sneakily at the cigarette case in Qin Yu’s hand.
"Of course, elder, this whole pack is for you," Qin Yu handed over the cigarette case.
"How can I accept this? No rewards without rit!" the elder protested in words, yet he reached out and grabbed the cigarette case!
Seeing that the elder accepted the cigarettes, the corners of Qin Yu’s mouth turned up ever so slightly, and he casually asked, "Elder, could you please tell where Shen Yi’s ho is?
I greatly admire him and would like to learn from him."
Upon hearing the na Shen Yi, the elder’s expression changed instantly, turning from amiable to incredibly guarded!
He stood up abruptly!
"Young friend, you don’t recognize even the illusion master? Who are you exactly? Are you a spy sent by the traitors?"
"Elder, I am the junior Qin Yu, we are not spies!"
The elder glanced at Lin Haixin, his suspicions deepening. He said coldly, "Obviously a beautiful girl, yet you’ve made your face up like this, what else could you be if not a spy?"
