But how could Fang Hong know this?

Upon hearing the gunfire, he was so terrified that he held his head, scurrying away. He sprinted forty to fifty ters, then dove into an alleyway. Once engulfed in darkness, he felt a slight sense of safety.

However, Fang Hong understood that this was rely an illusion of safety—he had already attracted the attention of the City Defense Force—all eyes would now be focused in this direction.

In fact, it was almost as he had imagined.

His appearance was like a drop of water splashing into a pan of hot oil, causing a frenzy.

At that mont, the City Defense Force from several nearby blocks received the ssage—the target had appeared and was breaking towards the south gate.

The Praetor stationed near the south gate, though not adept in military affairs, had competent people around him as a local authority. Thus, the entire City Defense Force quickly ford a large net, surrounding the direction where Fang Hong might appear.

Only they were unaware, as they confidently believed he would appear near the south gate, Fang Hong quietly changed direction, heading towards the route by the water gate.

Yet, due to the sheer number of City Defense Force mbers converging in the streets and alleyways.

Just as Fang Hong was silently calculating that there was still approximately one street distance ahead. At that mont, suddenly out of the alley charged a squad of City Defense Force.

Fang Hong looked up and saw eight individuals, precisely the size of a standard squad—

In fact, afraid of drawing others to his direction, Fang Hong didn't dare to let the Clockwork Fairy warn him overhead, so neither side anticipated the sudden encounter.

Both sides were taken aback.

Then the captain of the City Defense Force imdiately raised his hand, commanding his soldiers to crouch down, front four, back three, raising spears and pointing their firearms.

But Fang Hong's reaction was not slow, he glanced behind the City Defense Force only to see the exit to another street in that direction. He felt a rush of urgency and pressed his hand on the storage crystal. The next mont, suddenly, a deep blue wall of light appeared between them—

Those City Defense Force mbers instinctively pulled the triggers, but the light wall was transforming from illusion to reality, forming into a towering construct.

The enormous knight wielded a shield in one hand, and a spear in the other, raising the Great Shield to block the others before him. With a series of flashes and bangs, gunfire discharged, yet seed only to strike upon the Great Shield, leaving rely white marks on the tal of Orphen Twin Stars' Giant Shield.

After a barrage of flash and smoke, the City Defense Force mbers finally raised their heads, realizing what they had hit.

Under Fang Hong's command, the giant construct stepped forward heavily, nearly shaking the entire alleyway. Panic-stricken, the City Defense Force soldiers subconsciously withdrew two steps.

Only the captain drew his sword, pressing his hand on the Magic Guided Reactor behind him, shouting: "Don't be afraid, follow ."

Fang Hong, however, couldn't be bothered with these people. He ordered the Orphen Twin Stars with a clunk to hang the spear behind, then turned around, reaching out to lift him up. Then, hand in hand, he stepped forward.

With thunderous noise and an unstoppable giant construct, the City Defense Force soldiers' morale instantly emptied, scattering with a clamorous rush. Only the captain advanced alone, proving futile as the knight raised the Giant Shield and slamd him flying with a single swing.

"Get out of my way!"

Fang Hong roared, letting the giant Fearless Variant grasp him, striding forward. Suddenly, the enormous construct took a leap, astonishingly flying over the low buildings ahead.

At that mont, he only felt a fierce wind brushing against him, scenery rushing by, until the Orphen Twin Stars landed heavily on the ground.

Such a jump was, of course, a forced action, given its massive self weight, the construct's structural value showed a significant loss. He himself felt discomfort as if his internal organs were displaced. Mouth open, he couldn't help but spit out blood.

Fortunately, it wasn't caused by organ damage, but by proximity to the Main Core Crystal, almost succumbing to the erosion of magic power. Though impressive, Fang Hong resolved not to attempt such an action again.

He then slid down from the Construct Knight's hand, leaning against the giant construct, panting heavily before regaining his composure.

Finally having ti to look around, Fang Hong felt relieved that there seed to be no City Defense Force present on this final street. His strategy worked; everyone thought they were headed toward the south of the city, leaving this direction unguarded.

Given his current condition, he couldn't continue wielding the Orphen Twin Stars, reluctantly he decided to retract them—considering they were his greatest asset presently.

Taking a deep breath, he shakily walked forward, in the snowy surroundings, seemingly only accompanied by the sound of his footsteps. Until he walked stumbling to the street entrance, Fang Hong lifted his gaze and faintly saw the other side's city wall, exhaling a sigh of relief.

He finally made it out—

Retrieving a Resonance Crystal, he prepared to contact a Type II Clockwork Fairy left on Hilveld's side.

But at this mont, Fang Hong froze.

Looking up uncertainly, he saw a tall silhouette at the alley's exit.

The person's attire was simple, rely a modest cloak and shawl beneath chainmail, which didn't appear to be Magic Guided Armor. On his back was a Great Sword, though unsheathed, holding sothing in his hand—the very Clockwork Fairy Fang Hong used to penetrate the window not long ago.

The person slowly pulled down the hood, revealing a head of smooth golden hair, and a solemn gaze, causing Fang Hong's blood to nearly freeze.

The King of Warriors, Odin.

He never imagined he would encounter such a supre figure.

Fang Hong couldn't understand, why such a bigwig would abandon the battle zone to confront Great God Ye Hua, and co to this isolated place to trouble him? Almost feeling it was a dream, it took a slap to his face to realize it was all real.

Fang Hong didn't speak, instinctively stepping back, wanting to flee—but soon realized it was impossible to outrun Odin. Nonetheless, gritting his teeth, refusing to give up, he raised his hand, launching a Rocket Fist at the opponent.

Yet, experience proved his supposed opportunity was rely that—his assumption.

Against a king-level Invoker, his juvenile attack was quite laughable, as the Rocket Fist hit what seed like an invisible wall before reaching Odin.

Fang Hong knew, it wasn't a Shield—then the fist fell limp to the ground.

Odin gazed at the young man, ready to strike, but paused slightly at once seeing this, then stepped forward. To Fang Hong it was a re step, but Odin seed to teleport in front of him.

Aghast, Fang Hong raised his hand instinctively to defend, yet Odin had already passed by.

At that instant, Fang Hong only felt a pain at the back of his head, following by everything plunging into darkness—

...

Odin silently observed the boy collapsing limply to the ground, before bending down to pick him up, contemplating taking him away. At that mont, footsteps echoed from outside the alley.

A voice from outside inquired: "Mr. Odin, did you find those people?"

Pausing briefly, Odin glanced at the person in his grasp, silent for a mont, before responding: "They're not here."

The footsteps outside hesitated not, thanked him and hurriedly left. Odin stood in place for a while, then changed his mind, dragged Fang Hong to a corner, untied his collar, removed the cloak, and covered the boy.

Surveying the vicinity, he straightened up, leaving the alley as if no one was around.
