In Eteliria, changing one's main profession, or rather shifting the direction of experience investnt, is not unfamiliar to many Invokers. This could happen for various reasons—so lack experience, so might acquire a powerful item that doesn't suit their initial profession's investnt direction, or simply out of whimsy, among other reasons.
However, usually, such scenarios occur with less professional Invokers because the ti spent is always spent, and won't be refunded due to your changes. Changing your main profession ans previous choices are wasted, although if changes are within the sa profession system—like moving from Nightingale to Shadow Dancer, or from Ranger to Crossbow Shooter, so forr professional skills and knowledge might still be applicable. But transitioning into a completely new domain from Warrior to Spellcaster or Spellcaster to Thief, most forr Skills and Knowledge generally go unused.
Of course, even among professional Invokers, such cases aren't entirely absent, yet such individuals are usually obscure, or once highly regarded, but soon faded into the crowd after shifting. Those who succeed are rare, but the successful ones are often quite renowned.
For example, Elite's Ice Goddess Virus, who debuted as a Combat Artisan but later transitioned into Elentalist and Grand Artificer, is a typical example. There's also the chief magus of 'God Slayer', fad nationwide as the top Magus, Old Yang, who originally started as an Archer.
There are many such examples among the top ten Grand Guilds, so were even unknown before the transition but suddenly amazed everyone, becoming a dark horse in so major competition.
Yin Shi considers himself a classic example. He beca an official Invoker of 'Twilight of the Gods' only after a lengthy trainee period, due to barely passing line performances during training, making him just an ordinary mber in Ragnarok, the fifth-ranked dostic Grand Guild.
However, under his original captain's suggestion, he switched from Nightingale to Magic Guided Conductor, wasting about Level 7, yet it was like finding true love—his understanding of the profession progressed rapidly, handling Magic Guided Conductor skills easily. His combat ranking within the Guild rose steadily, eventually becoming a mber of the Elite Corps not long ago.
Though it's just the First World Elite Corps and 'RO' (Ragnarok's abbreviation) has three major divisions in the First World, he's rely part of one, far from the Second World main Guild or even the First World division brigades, yet from Yin Shi's perspective, it's already considered promising.
The Youth Training Camp supervisor ntioned to him that after this mission, he too has the chance for a trial in the Elite Youth Training Team of 'Twilight of the Gods'. If performing well, joining the Elite Youth Training Team isn't impossible.
As known to all, the Elite Youth Training Teams of various Grand Guilds are a necessary threshold for entering their brigades.
Thus, Yin Shi is full of confidence in his current Invoker career and extrely grateful to the old captain who advised his transition, unfortunately, the latter soon retired to reality's training camp, working for the club, leaving him no chance for proper thanks.
It's only from those old-generation Invokers, Yin Shi can feel this tireless promotion for newcors, not rely for oneself but for the Guild's future. The new batch of young high-ups however, are sharp-tongued and made him feel disdain.
Thinking of this, he couldn't help but glance not far away.
There was a young Ranger negotiating with the City Defense Force, clad in a long cloak, carrying an Avenquin Longbow, not much older than him, yet actually the temporary captain for this task.
Yin Shi naturally knows this person's background, graduated three batches before him from the Youth Training Camp, one of Guild's seed selections from that year's collegiate league, initially a notable dark horse contender.
Excelling in the Ranger ladder, his ascension in the Guild wasn't as convoluted as Yin Shi's, smoothly entering the middle and upper echelons. Though his talent is comndable, his temperant is far larger.
Unlike Guild-appointed fixed captains, temporary captains form teams due to mission needs, lacking fixed organization; privately within 'RO', mbers prefer calling such captains as mission captains.
Though this colloquial term lacks formal regulation, Yin Shi once addressed him as captain in a past adventure, accidentally offending this person.
During subsequent adventures, this person repeatedly assigned him night watch duties. Commonly in teams, it's an unspoken rule that Spellcasters need not do night watches due to the need for ntal concentration, insufficient sleep easily causing spell failures.
Without verbal ntion, Yin Shi also realizes the person intentionally troubles him.
He lightly spit and internally cursed as 'upstart little person'.
Unfortunately, such people are increasingly prevalent in the Guild, evident from complaints on the internal community's anonymous board; yet upper managent pays no heed, the club even considers tighter managent not necessarily a bad thing.
