"Boss, is it ti to kill?"

In the trench, Zat whispered to Levi, hefting the Double-Bladed Giant Axe that was as tall as a man.

"Wait a little longer. Those Minotaurs haven’t even made their move."

The Lord calmly polished his Two-Handed Giant Sword. The enemy, clearly confident of victory, was thodically committing its warriors to the battlefield.

So far, they had only sent in the Lizardn.

As the saying goes, soldiers fight soldiers and generals fight generals. If they rushed out now, they’d just look like a bunch of nobodies.

The custom-made Fish Spear and Giant Shield weren’t suited for this situation, so Levi had stored them in his System Space. He could retrieve them instantly when the Giant Dragon appeared.

On a crowded battlefield like this, the Giant Sword was clearly the ultimate reaping tool. A single spin could clear a wide open space.

The Lord had been worried the enemy might send Jackal Wolfn to scout their position or the nearby reed marsh, but his concerns had been unfounded.

They were just a bunch of Wilderness bumpkins, not military strategists. It was impressive enough that they knew a few basic formations; they certainly wouldn’t have the foresight to consider ambushes or traps.

As ti wore on and even the Lizardn were stymied by the Shield Array and sharp arrow fire, Gorgon could no longer sit still.

The humans seed few, yet the vast number of Lizardman warriors couldn’t even breach the Shield Array, leaving behind nothing but a growing pile of corpses.

Gorgon realized it had underestimated the enemy; these humans were far stronger than anticipated.

They were like a reef in the ocean—seemingly small and fragile, yet completely unmoved by the battering wind and waves.

The Minotaurs, no longer able to restrain themselves, charged onto the battlefield, panting heavily with bloodshot eyes.

For these Minotaurs, only battle brought them pleasure.

The charge of a hundred thousand-pound Minotaurs was like a stampede of a thousand horses, their montum even more overwhelming.

Their bodies, standing three ren high, were an insurmountable wall of flesh.

"Dammit, brothers, let’s kill!"

Slamming the Iron Barrel Helt onto his head, Levi, clad in Three-Layered Iron Armor, bent his knees and leaped out of the trench, leading the charge.

"My great axe thirsts for battle!"

Zat roared, wanting to make a cool exit like his Lord. Unfortunately, also weighed down by Three-Layered Iron Armor, he could only manage a hop of one ren—not nearly enough to clear the 1.6-ren-high trench.

In the end, he had to resort to scrambling up with his hands and feet.

The other Beastn fared even worse; their jumps didn’t even reach one ren.

Fifty fully ard Beastn, swift as leopards, surged forward as one, their brandished weapons a chaotic flood.

"Kill!"

To hide his embarrassnt, Zat roared and brandished his Giant Axe after scrambling out.

Their unified roars rged into rolling thunder in the sky: "Kill!"

"An ambush?"

The terrifying thought nearly made Gorgon’s heart stop, only for it to resu with a frantic, violent pounding.

In truth, the ambush was an ancient but effective tactic used by humans and locals alike. Logically, Gorgon should have anticipated it.

But commanding a legion of nearly four thousand had drained its energy, leaving no room to consider such things. It had been a subconscious oversight.

The Giant Dragon Corps was its stepping stone to greater ambition, not its personal property. It absolutely could not afford the consequences of defeat.

Fortunately, the ambush force wasn’t the overwhelming tide it had feared. There were only forty or fifty of them. And while they were well-equipped, the Giant Dragon Corps still held a tenfold nurical advantage.

An advantage like that should be more than enough to erase the difference.

"Have the Minotaurs turn back!" Gorgon didn’t want to waste any more ti.

Though well-equipped, these new enemies were like dwarves compared to the Minotaurs. No one would have batted an eye if you’d called their leader, the Iron Canister, a month-old Minotaur calf.

Luckily, the Minotaurs had only just entered the fray and hadn’t gone Berserk yet, so they could still follow commands.

The thundering of heavy hooves began anew, but from a different direction.

There was no need for probing attacks or pleasantries. The mont the two sides t, all hell broke loose.

"MOO!"

Leading the charge was an elite Minotaur, a rare specin even among its kind and at least a squad-leader-level expert. It threw back its head with a world-shaking, bestial roar and brought its rust-spotted Iron Hamr down upon the overconfident little man.

The Lord had no intention of retreating. He swung his Giant Sword—a blade so large it could serve as a bed for a small child.

The instant the Giant Sword and Iron Hamr collided in midair, a deafening crack like a thunderclap made eardrums ache.

The two opponents seed mismatched, but the outco had been decided from the start.

The rusty Iron Hamr, overwheld by the Giant Sword’s irresistible Power, was driven back into the Minotaur’s own face. Bone shattered, and blood sprayed forth like an opened dam.

The courageous warrior, as tall and sturdy as a small Giant, collapsed without a sound. Its massive body swayed, then crashed backward, kicking up a cloud of dust.

These Beastn, veteran mbers of High Cliff Castle, had all grown a size larger thanks to the blessing of the System Power. Compared to a new recruit’s height of around 2.3 ren, they were all over 2.5 ren tall.

But even so, they only ca up to a Minotaur’s chest, making them a full size smaller.

The many forms of life have always followed one rule: size and Power are often directly proportional. A thousand-pound body simply contains more strength than a five-hundred-pound one.

Thus, powerful races are often massive in stature—the various types of Giant, for example.

According to this logic, the Beastman Barbarians should have been weaker than the Minotaurs, being a full size smaller.

The overwhelming strength that ca with such a size difference was not sothing that could be overco with superior equipnt.

Everyone present agreed with this.

Gorgon was even eagerly anticipating the mont the Minotaurs smashed these Iron Canisters flat as pancakes.

The two sides crashed into each other without a shred of fear. The shouts of battle and the clash of blades were as fierce as a raging storm.

A mont later, a scene unfolded that left everyone dumbfounded.

It was the Minotaurs who were being thrown to the ground. Gorgon even saw a head-on clash where a Minotaur’s weapon was sent flying.

The simplest, purest brute force created the most shocking visual spectacle.

For a mont, Gorgon wondered, ’Am I dreaming?’

It could defeat Minotaurs as well, but never with such effortless ease.

The Minotaurs’ front line was being pushed back, bit by bit. It was the first ti they had ever been forced back on the defensive. They roared in fury, trying to regain ground, but it was useless.

Under these circumstances, the Minotaurs’ eyes turned completely red. A visible aura of Blood Qi enveloped their bodies.
