Now reading: Chapter 126 - 123: Sophia’s Confession (Part 2) from Pioneer Lord: I Have Conquering System, a Fantasy novel by Caged Bird Yearns for the Forest.

After confirming that the Silver Dragon had completely surrendered, the Lord scratched his head, feeling that life was truly bizarre.

Before arriving, he had anticipated a terribly brutal battle. He’d estimated that only he and a few leaders from High Cliff Castle would survive.

In the end, Minstrels would sing of this epic, moving, and heroic dragon-slaying battle.

But in reality, they had only fired a single arrow—and it fucking missed—yet it had scared the Silver Dragon into surrendering without a fight.

"Talk is cheap. If you put on this collar yourself, I’ll believe you." The Lord silently pulled a massive, custom-made Fine Steel collar from his System Space, with a chain as thick as a thigh attached to it.

It was clearly forged for so kind of Giant Beast.

This made it clear that the Lord had been plotting to beco a Dragon Knight for a long ti.

Sophia was stunned. She wasn’t surprised that this "tin can" possessed spatial Magic Equipnt, but it was strange that this collar was so obviously made specifically for a Giant Dragon.

Her expression grew a little odd, and she began to wonder if surrendering had been the right decision.

But what was done was done. More importantly, those seven Bed Crossbows were still aid nacingly at her.

"That won’t be necessary," she said hurriedly. "I know the Transformation Technique."

If she really let them put that collar on her, she would beco the most disgraceful Silver Dragon in history.

The Giant Dragon began to chant in the Dragon Language. The next mont, Holy Light enveloped its body, and when the light faded, a silver-haired young girl stood in its place.

"Holy shit, a little silver-haired girl with dragon horns?"

The Lord couldn’t control himself and blurted out a curse.

You couldn’t bla him for being so shocked. Even Archbishop Saint Deligo, who was famous centuries ago for his unshakable composure, would have lost his cool if he were here.

As a "muggle" with no knowledge of Magic, Levi truly couldn’t comprehend the level of magical mastery required to turn a Giant Beast several stories tall into an adorable, silver-haired girl.

The Silver Dragon’s timid personality, a Transformation Technique so advanced that not even a Magic Master could perform it—everything told Levi one thing: he had stumbled upon the real deal!

This was a pure-blooded Silver Dragon, and its origins were likely far from simple.

It was well known that not all Giant Dragons in this world were evil.

Aside from the innately evil Five-Colored Dragons, most tal Dragons belonged to either the neutral or Good Factions.

Silver Dragons, in particular, were known for their dignity and elegance. Being extrely skilled in the Transformation Technique, they often took human form to travel the various kingdoms.

Historically, one Silver Dragon used its superb Transformation Technique to pull off a feat that beca legendary across the kingdoms.

This Silver Dragon transford into an exiled Prince from a fallen kingdom. Thanks to his exceptional looks, he ended up having an affair with a Princess.

Since the old King had no male heirs, the throne passed to the Princess. Unfortunately, it wasn’t long before this foolish Princess abdicated the throne to the Prince—the disguised Silver Dragon.

The two had a human daughter who carried the Silver Dragon Bloodline. Unfortunately, tragedy struck all too soon, and the Princess later died in an accident.

After raising the human girl to adulthood, the Silver Dragon planned to leave. However, his appearance hadn’t changed one bit over the decades, and the daughter he had with the Human Princess fell in love with him.

As for what happened next... well, you know.

In just a century, the Kingdom’s entire Royal Family went from having brown hair to exclusively silver hair.

This tale ca to be known as the "Extinction of the Bloodline."

This single Silver Dragon, in the span of a hundred years, had single-handedly made an entire nation its own.

Then, a few decades ago, during a war, just as an enemy nation was about to annihilate the country, the Silver Dragon revealed its true form, saved so mbers of the Royal Family, and led them away.

Only then did the various kingdoms learn the true identity of the exiled Prince.

This just went to show how superb the Silver Dragons’ mastery of the Transformation Technique truly was.

"When a Giant Dragon transforms into a human, its Power is severely restricted. You don’t have to worry now."

Sophia explained while shifting her body, clearly uncomfortable.

She had never liked taking human form. It wasn’t just that the restriction on her Power made her feel insecure; more importantly, it felt as constricting as wearing a tight suit of clothes, binding her hand and foot.

She hadn’t used the Transformation Technique in a long ti, so the form felt incredibly awkward.

Levi carefully sized up the silver-haired girl.

She was a little taller than Baisitina, with a slender figure clad in a loose, short-sleeved White Robe. Her silver hair cascaded to her waist like the Milky Way. She had ruby-red lips, pearly white teeth, and an exquisitely beautiful face. Two silver dragon horns curved back from her skull.

’I have to admit, Giant Dragons really do have an eye for beauty in every Race.’

The great dragon-slaying battle had ended so bizarrely. While everyone breathed a sigh of relief, they also felt a slight sense of disappointnt.

"Tch. You’re a Giant Dragon, for crying out loud. How could you surrender so quickly?"

Zat took off his Horned Helt and pouted.

Last night, he’d even dread of following the chief to slay the Giant Dragon, his title—Zat the Dragon Slayer—reverberating throughout the Middle Ages Continent.

Countless Beastman girls would be fawning all over him.

But now, his ’Dragon Slayer’ title was down the drain. All that preparation, and he got nothing out of it.

Not all captives were treated the sa. The other prisoners at High Cliff Castle were ignored even when they tried to curry favor, let alone act tough.

But Sophia stuck her neck out and yelled, "That’s just blatant prejudice! Who says a Giant Dragon can’t surrender?"

"Throughout history, plenty of Giant Dragons have surrendered, to say nothing of an unknown Little Silver Dragon like ."

After her retort, she realized she was now a prisoner and cautiously asked the Lord beside her, "What are you going to do with ?"

"I’ve heard that a Dragon Heart steeped in wine grants longevity, and dragon liver used in dicine makes one as vigorous as a dragon," Levi threatened with a grin.

He hadn’t said anything explicit, but he might as well have.

Sophia’s face went white with fright. Her lips trembled as she tried to dissuade him from his horrifying thoughts. "Th-those... those are all just rumors!"

But her deathly pale face hardly added any Persuasion.

In that mont, Sophia viscerally understood why her elders always said humans were terrifying. She wanted to cry, but no tears would co.

"Not much at on your bones anyway," the Lord said, pulling back, afraid of scaring the Silver Dragon too much. "But, as a captive, you have two options: work to earn your freedom, or have soone ransom you."

’No matter how I look at it,’ Levi mused, ’this Silver Dragon is anything but simple.’

’tal Dragons haven’t been seen on the Middle Ages Continent in ages, let alone a young one that’s clearly not yet an adult.’

’Besides, her timid and cowardly deanor is just like Mier’s. It’s obvious she’s always lived in a sheltered world and hasn’t yet been beaten down by the harsh realities of life.’

’Rumor has it that in the center of the Storm Sea, not far from the Middle Ages Continent, there’s an island inhabited by neutral or good-aligned Giant Dragons.’

’This Little Silver Dragon most likely ca from there.’

Of course, this was all just the Lord’s own speculation.

Regardless, he obviously couldn’t treat this Silver Dragon like an ordinary slave.

After all, if he wanted to beco a true Dragon Knight, he first needed to get on her good side.

For the first ti, Sophia felt there were advantages to being skinny. For instance, her Dragon Life had just been spared.

Levi knew a bit about the Transformation Technique himself. While the Magic allowed a Giant Dragon to physiologically change into any Race, it also restricted their size and Power. Even their own Magic would be affected, its potency greatly diminished.

As a result, his guard against the Silver Dragon dropped a little.

Still, he wouldn’t let her get more than fifty paces away from him.

Within that range, if she dared make a single suspicious move, what awaited her was certain death from a pierced Dragon Heart.

With the Giant Dragon dealt with, it was naturally ti for the part everyone loved: looting the treasure.

All Giant Dragons loved treasure, so Levi was already eagerly anticipating how much this Silver Dragon had collected. He wondered if he might get a legendary golden-tier drop, like so Magic Equipnt.

But when he led the long-faced Sophia into the lair, Levi’s own face imdiately darkened.

’Damn it, this Giant Dragon is even poorer than I am!’
