It affectionately pecked his earlobe, then with a flap of its wings, it soared through the tall rooftop like a phantom, reaching a hundred miles away in the blink of an eye.
Through their sharp eyes, Byron saw a large group of Leviathan Whales swimming underwater, taking in every detail. Even the pores on their skin were clearly visible, as if he were observing patterns in the palm of his hand.
Imdiately after, the two Ravens dove into the water. They stirred no splashes, as if they didn’t exist at all. Even when they were just a few ters from the whales, these behemoths noticed nothing out of the ordinary.
Although the two Ravens themselves have no combat power, this immunity to all Middle Sequence detection alone is enough for them to contend for the title of strongest Scout. Worthy of being pets of the mythological Divine King. Once I advance to the Fifth Order, I’ll be able to know all major events in the world through them.
The communication channels of the Centaur Archipelago to the outside world were not cut off. After fernting for over a day, Saint Byron’s title, "Sea Hunter," finally broke through the 25-point mark.
"The Sea Hunter" gained a new title ability, "Animal Companion," which Byron preferred to jokingly call "Walking Birds and Teasing Dogs" or "Leading Yellow, Holding Azure." This was because these animal companions were exactly two Ravens and two Wolves.
In Bayfolk mythology, Hugin and Munin were two Ravens under the Mad Hunt Deity, Woden. The na Hugin ans "Thought" (Runes: Thought), while Munin ans "mory" (Runes: mory). They were not only Woden’s sacred birds but also his eyes and ears. Every day at the crack of dawn, the two Ravens would fly from Woden’s shoulders to the Mortal World. They observed all things, heard all matters, communicated with the living and the inanimate, and then returned to tell Woden. Besides these two sacred birds, Woden was also constantly accompanied by two great wolves, Geri (Runes: Geri) and Freki (Runes: Freki). The forr represents "Greed" and the latter "Gluttony." Woden would feed all the at offered to him by his followers to these two wolves, who were in charge of guard duty.
"Geri, Freki!"
Following Byron’s call, two giant wolves as tall as a man, with black and white fur and deep blue eyes, appeared behind him. They obediently rolled on the ground, letting him scratch their bellies and making submissive whining sounds like hunting dogs.
As extensions of Byron’s senses and limbs, the two Ravens and two giant Wolves could not only scout for enemy movents and deliver ssages 24/7 but could also beco his Incarnations, like those Wild Hunt Servants, projecting the power of his original body. It was also an alternative kind of body-splitting technique. With more and more territory under his control, he didn’t worry about lacking guards for the gates.
"Geri, you go patrol Whale Song Town. Freki, you watch those who just arrived at the port and imdiately holed up in the dungeon to work. Make them keep it down while they’re at it. I, Saint Byron, am kind-hearted. I can’t stand to hear the ’volunteers’ screaming. Rember to cut off Red Beard’s tongue before each dissection. Anesthetics are unnecessary; they’re still a bit expensive before mass production."
Byron waved his hand, sending them off to their respective tasks.
Now that my titles are constantly advancing, I find myself becoming more and more like that ’Deity of Authority, Prophecy, and the Mad Hunt,’ Woden. The Mad Hunt title corresponds to the enhancents of the Mad Hunt Legion and my own abilities. This persona has been dormant for a long ti and hasn’t caused any major news. So far, its Legend Points have stayed at 27, still three points from the 30-point threshold. I’m afraid it will soon be overtaken by the Legend Points of The Sea Hunter. The Sea Hunter title corresponds to the Mad Hunt Deity’s weapons and pets: the sure-hit spear Gungnir, two ravens, and two hounds. Who knows what treasures I’ll get the next ti I level up? It’s like I’m gradually emptying out that Chief God. Coupled with the Deity Mask that has already fallen into my hands, my compatibility with this Divine King is outrageously high.
Byron couldn’t figure out the connection between all these coincidences for the ti being, so he stopped trying to dwell on it.
Realizing the night was growing deep, he was about to turn off the light and rest when he suddenly heard a faint sound of sothing cutting through the air from Violet’s room next door, where the light was still on. Using the perceptive ability of Divine Sight, he imdiately "saw" the scene in the room with his Hearing.
The desk was covered with docunts on Whale Oil technology and a pile of experintal equipnt. Most crucially, a glass test tube filled with liquid was suddenly falling from the desk.
Is this...
HISS—!
Byron had barely drawn half a sharp breath when his body, reacting instinctively, sprang into action. With speed unmatched among the Middle Sequence, he whipped up a gale, burst out of his own window, and surged into Violet’s room.
