Bore was back from the latest mission and was brought to the Military Tribunal for questioning.

Bore held his head high as his small, beady eyes blinked at the large hall where the Rodents civilization’s legacy and history were preserved.

But amidst the hall, the expression on all of them was one of panic. They found out that curing the ga Neurax Worms was harder and they needed more ti to study it.

The transmission rate of the variant was faster and they were dormant for a long ti before flaring up. Fortunately, they often dealt with this so the detectors could detect the presence of the ga Neurax Worms in advance and put a preventative thod to combat it.

As for the infected, they were placed in the sa place as the other infected before being quarantined.

But so far, there was still no cure for it. It was because the previous treatnt beca ineffective and even the scientists around Rodentia was still sequencing its DNA and the process of creating a cure was slow despite the resources being lumped to them.

That was why almost all the people in the military had a tired look since their units were infected.

“Chief Bore. As the leader of the 101st Marine Corps, you have failed in your duty. But that is not the only issue. You have communicated with the enemy’s higher-ups. Although we can hear it through the recording, we all want to know what you are going to do with that information.” The grey-furred rat with a monocle and a round hat stood at the main place for the jury, looking at Bore who only wore his casual clothes.

Bore looked around and saw that the people’s eyes were drilling at him. The words that his enemies said about the ga Neurax Worms, as well as the proposal offered.

“I am just a soldier.” Bore said after looking around.

“Certainly, I want to not rely on enemies’ words alone since it made us weak. But have you thought about why the enemy is so confident in offering their proposal? Do you think this new variant of the Neurax Worms is going to be easy to cure or at least eliminated?” Bore asked the question he wanted to know the most.

“Because if not, then the catastrophe of the past will be repeated right now.” Bore added.

The jury was hearing what Bore had said and caught the atmosphere in the hall. It was full of confusion and hesitation.

The Rodents specially; they were prone to get nervous when there were different voices in the community but this Bore had a different thought but still voiced it out.

“Even so, to even consider the words of the enemy alone is foolishness. We don’t need to reconsider it. We just need so ti and put the quarantine for the infected while we wait for the cure.” The jury said.

Bore was naturally dissatisfied with this decision. Although the enemy had retreated, it felt like the enemy wanted to leave the Yul Municipality to their own device. It ant that the enemy was confident that this could not be solved in a short ti.

‘Then…what can I do to help?’ Bore thought despite being brought to the Military Tribunal.

“For even considering the words of our enemy is a sin that cannot be washed simply by apologizing. Do you know your cri?” the jury said loudly.

“The question is, can we hold on until the cure is developed? If not, then do you want to see our civilization fall due to our own action?” Bore asked not only the jury but everyone in the hall.

“I have a strong hunch that the developnt of the cure, although fast and quick, has reached a bottleneck. I ask that the people related tell us the whole thing to make a sound decision right here, right now.” Bore said that despite his position, it beca unfavorable.

As for the scientists who were there, they shifted their gazes, not daring to et the others' eyes.

“What does a soldier know about the matter of the Yul Municipality?” another voice ca out.

“Sir, actually, he is suspected to be our Chosen One.” The jury truly wanted to just punish Bore but realized that the matter beca more complicated. He could not let Bore act against the Municipality since it would an that their foundation would be uprooted.

“Is that right? No wonder you all let the show run by him.”

Bore had realized that this was more like a discussion about the future of his civilization.

“And the scientists who are responsible for finding the cure of the variant Neurax Worms, have you procured it?” the jury asked this to let the matter roll.

“Replying to the jury, we have almost done it but sothing prevents us from completing it.” The scientists had to report truthfully to not make things more complicated than they already were.

“What is it that is lacking?”

“We believe that there are materials not available in our world in the variant Neurax Worms. We tried to extract it from the dead infected, but that failed since the material suddenly disappeared after exposure to our air.” The senior scientists said this, resigned to the fact that the direction was correct but the material needed was not available.

Either they needed to procure the material from the source which ant they had to get it from the enemy territory, or they needed to make a substitute for it. But it ant that their military power would plumt to an unacceptable level for even a civilization like theirs.

Hearing that caused the people to gasp. Crustacean, Lizardfolk, Elves and Rodents were in a dilemma. They wanted the cure for the variant Neurax Worms, but the cure was almost completed, but lacked the core material.

“Be Quiet!” Bore loudly shouted.

Strangely enough, people heeded his words. The jury narrowed his eyes.

‘Indeed, the Chosen One has the charisma to drive people of his civilization to his side.’ The jury thought.

“We need to know one thing. If the material for the cure is lacking, how much ti do we have until a substitute for the lacking material can be procured?” Bore asked while looking at the scientists who attended.

His gaze was actually a plea. Bore hoped that the Yul Municipality did not need to consider the enemy words said at that ti and just had to make the cure.

“It needs to be within a month at the very least. Even then, I need almost all the resources from the Municipality which you all would not agree to give.” The senior scientist said truthfully. His glasses were a bit crooked, so he straighten it.

“Damn it, we still need those resources for the military. There is no way we would let anyone else get that part of the share.” The military general slamd the table in front of him, frustrated with the situation.

“How about you analyze this first?” Bore then rummaged through the inner lining of his body and let out sothing. It was a syringe.

“Chief Bore, let ask you sothing since you brought it with you. What is it?” The jury did not expect that there was sothing like that inside. How did it escape the check?

“I store it in the spatial storage in the inner lining of my clothes. That spatial storage is a bit special and can escape detection. More importantly, this is the variant Neurax Worms that still has not been contaminated by the air of this planet.” Bore said.

Right after his return from the trap of the spaceship and eting the enemy Star Children, his spaceship beca infected with the ga Neurax Worms.

That was how he could extract one sample of the variant Neurax Worm from the infected. The syringe was filled with orange fluid. In the middle of the transparent glass, there was sothing that everyone there could recognize: the Neurax Worm.

The senior scientist and his peer were looking at it as if it were a clue for the cure.

“This is the only one I can give. I don’t have another. With this, can you create a cure?” Bore asked.

The scientists went down to Bore’s standing place and trembled.

“Thank you! We are truly lacking the sample from outer space since most of them are exterminated. I promise that we will make full use of this one.” The senior scientist said before he stored it in the special sealed suitcase.

“Now then, shall we talk about the counterasure against the enemy?”

-

“Looks like they barely made it.” Tatsumi looked into the distance where Rodentia was located.

“Hmm.” A did not deny it; in fact, she agreed with him.

With the way the Star Child acted and their fortune of the planet, it would be easy for them to solve the unsolvable problem that the civilization had faced.

Inside the Spacecraft Carrier Adrian, the two looked at the distant Rodentia, where the battle between the Great Rat God and the Father God had comnced.

“That also ans the battle will be fiercer than before.”

Tatsumi shook his head. He also expected this result since he was also a Star Child and knew that favorable conditions often followed him. Expecting others to be able to do that made him realize that the world was wide and so things were equal to or greater than him.

The Federation fleets were now stationed at Solont planet, where they could resupply and repair their spaceships. Furthermore, they were preparing to also do a joint assault on Rodentia with the Undead and the Gling.

“Although our enemy has been weakened, their fighting spirit seems to be increasing. Perhaps it is because of that Star Child that the once timid Rodents gained sothing. But they are also desperate, clinging to any straw that cos their way.” A added.

“It just ans that we need to make more effort. Now, we can crush them without resorting to things like Bio Weapon and such. Confrontation will result in our victory.

“But we need to contain that Star Child. We cannot let him affect the others’ battlefield.”

Tatsumi had already made plans but he was not sure whether the enemy had sothing like a trump card left to use.

The preliminary assessnt of the Rodentia was that it was a heavily fortified planet. Although the Federation had not landed there yet but they knew that landing would cost them greatly.

*beep*

Tatsumi felt that his wristwatch was sending him a signal. He looked at it and realized that the one who wanted to connect was soone he knew.

He pressed a button so that the hologram would show him who that person was.

“It’s been a long ti.”

A familiar face showed up and Tatsumi was surprised to see that he had connected with him.

“What makes you connect to . Ambassador Chen Fei?” Tatsumi smirked as he pointed at himself. A respectfully stood on Tatsumi’s side while curiously looking at the hologram.

The hologram was showing Chen Fei’s upper body; his expression was one of contentnt and a serious face.

“Well, it is because the Federation has sent as the one who would negotiate with the enemy. But first, you will do a dangerous operation on Rodentia, right? Will you be fine?” Chen Fei, despite being close to him, was still concerned about him, despite knowing that most likely Tatsumi would be fine.

“Oh, that’s news to . Tell why you were chosen first.” Tatsumi said seriously.

“Other than my ability, I am one of the people capable enough to do this. I an, there’s you on the frontline so my security is almost guaranteed. Haha.” Chen Fei put his hand behind his head while laughing.

“But that also ans it is an escort. Escorting you on the battlefield is hard. Why did you get sent anyway? Isn’t the mission objective to eliminate the last resistance?” Tatsumi asked.

“There has been so slight modification to the battle plan. Marshal Teach also agreed to the plan so this is actually a two-pronged strategy.” Chen Fei said, explaining a bit about the things happening on the HQ and the ho planet.

Tatsumi frowned, he pursed his lips.

‘Right, there is also that. Do you know that the Federation wanted to intimidate the Rodents by eliminating the last resistance factor before trying to once again negotiate with them?’ Kudungga suddenly connected to him and delivered this news.

‘Is that so? That’s sothing recent, isn’t it?’ Tatsumi thought that this was sothing that had just been done.

‘That is why they can send soone capable to the frontline. The Federation trusted you all. That is why they considered the people in your proximity to be capable before sending them to you.’ Goto added.

Tatsumi knew that the news was likely true. He then faced Chen Fei with an affirmative expression.

“The strategy you ntioned is to eliminate any resistance and then try to negotiate with the Yul Municipality formally? Am I correct?” Tatsumi said what was on his mind and he could see that Chen Fei’s expression was one of surprise and delight.

“That is right. They selected not only for my ability but also because I am quite close to you.” Chen Fei said with a smile before he added, “Of course, Sister-in-law, you are also being included.”

A shook her head with a smile. Her eyes looked at the two and knew that they were close.

In fact, the first person A rembered to be able to get close to Tatsumi was Chen Fei.

That was why she got close to Chen Fei, so that she could get closer to Tatsumi.

“So you are saying that the Federation has considered everything for this Star Battle.” A said after so ti thinking.

“That’s right. Although we need to be aware of the Municipality's trump card. I believe that it is sothing that will surprise both sides if known.” Chen Fei said with a grave tone.

But Tatsumi felt like he was going to know what kind of trump card the Yul Municipality had. After all, the Rodents were experts in genetic knowledge. So he knew that he expected the trump card to be related to it.

The Accelerated Growth Serum was proof that the Rodents were quite adept at it. Even for humanity, that knowledge was what they needed. But now, the full extent of the genetic knowledge of the enemy would be revealed.

‘Looks like I can expect that Star Child nad Bore to be strengthened.’ Tatsumi thought as he tried to overestimate Bore’s capability to be careful.

“Well, they are expert in genetic.” A explained and continued, “So it is expected that their trump card will be related to it.”

“Hmm, you are right. Should I give this information back before I go to you?” Chen Fei asked.

“That’s up to you, buddy.” Tatsumi said while relaxing.

“Then I might as well tell them. See you later.” Chen Fei then disconnected and Tatsumi pressed a button on the wristwatch, and the hologram projection was turned off.

“See you later. And thanks, buddy.” Tatsumi sighed as he blinked his eyes.

Despite their close bond, the proximity that truly existed between them was not small since everyone from the orphanage had their own thing to do.

Fortunately, they often gathered together just to rember each other and rember that once in the past, they were children who needed to be protected and now their protectors needed them.

‘Despite being only half a year, I already missed the people from the orphanage.’ Tatsumi thought and felt that his heart was palpitating. He felt the distance between them was not the reason why he needed to do this.

He beca busy with the matter of the Star Battle and the civilization. He should also rember his roots and respect those who taught him manners, morals, as well as knowledge about the undisclosed.

“I probably should say more thank you.” Tatsumi murmured.

Then soone went into his arm and Tatsumi was surprised.

“What are you doing?” Tatsumi asked A.

“You’re feeling nostalgic.” A replied but buried her face into his chest. Tatsumi had no choice but to enjoy the mont and wrapped his hand around A.

‘Right. I also need to rember Father-in-law. He is working hard despite being a transcendent. He should focus on the transcendent path rather than the family matters.’ Tatsumi also did not forget about Yamaguchi.

“Right, I almost forgot. How’s Father-in-law doing?” Tatsumi asked A.

A smiled and replied, “He is doing well. He can juggle both the family and transcendent matters so put your mind at ease.”

Tatsumi was a bit confused as he was worrying about things extensively.

‘What’s wrong with ? Am I just wanting to spend ti with them all? Or is it sothing else?’ Tatsumi thought.

‘Perhaps because you are facing soone who has been separated from his parents.’ Chi You interjected.

‘You an that Bore, right? A said that he is a soldier under the category of the Accelerated Growth Soldier. Is that why I am feeling this way?’ Tatsumi communicated with Chi You.

‘Perhaps. You feel for him, so you started to think in the direction where your growth is affected the most.’ Chi You added.

“Right. I guess I am starting to think about the people who have affected my growth in this world.” Tatsumi smiled at the thought and patted A’s head.

A looked like she enjoyed being patted, and let Tatsumi do that. She also returned the hug, her arms wrapped around his waist.

“That is right. You cannot forget the important people who have been positively guiding your growth. As expected, you tried hard to rember them. Don’t forget to also do that to your biological parents, alright.” A reminded Tatsumi felt like he had completely forgotten about them.

Compared to the others who had accompanied him for a long ti, the ti spent with his biological parents was still shorter. But with A’s reminder, he started to do that.
