The brilliant stage lights suddenly extinguished, plunging everything into darkness. Below the stage, an audience of over ten thousand waved their glow sticks in silence, creating an undulating sea of fluorescent light.
After nearly half a minute of quiet, intensely dynamic music erupted, and the dazzling stage lights burst forth once more. A single beam of white light fell upon the center of the stage. Under that beam stood Xie Yunwan, now in a long white dress, looking like a pure white swan.
As soon as she began to sing, the atmosphere instantly ignited. The crowd of over ten thousand fans raised their glow sticks, waving them vigorously in rhythm with the music.
At this mont, in the private box on the second floor, Zhu Yan seed to be completely imrsed in the atmosphere, swaying along with the beat. This was the first ti Sun Zhe had seen Zhu Yan in such a state, and she seed like a stranger to him. He couldn’t help but tease, "It seems there’s a restless, youthful heart hidden inside that mature body of yours."
Zhu Yan asked, "Don’t you find a live performance like this captivating?"
Sun Zhe nodded and smiled. "A little, yeah."
"..."
As they spoke, another voice, as beautiful as a lody from heaven, echoed throughout the venue. Sun Zhe was montarily stunned, recognizing it as Ye Qiao’s voice. He had only ever heard her speak before; this was the first ti he had ever heard Ye Qiao sing with such earnestness. The lodious sound was an exquisite pleasure to his ears.
Beside him, Zhu Yan bead with pride. "Ah Zhe, look, it’s Qiaoqiao!"
On the stage, another beam of light fell. Ye Qiao, dressed in a sky-blue, strapless tulle dress, appeared before everyone’s eyes. Her arrival was like that of a fairy descending to the mortal world, stunning all who saw her.
"Little Junior Sister!"
"Little Junior Sister!"
"Little Junior Sister!"
"..."
After a brief mont of stunned silence, the entire venue erupted in thunderous cheers.
In the private box, Sun Zhe stood before the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing at the pure yet alluring goddess on the stage, montarily captivated. It was his first ti seeing Ye Qiao looking so beautiful; she was breathtakingly gorgeous.
Then, the two goddesses on stage held hands and began to sing an emotional duet.
When the song ended and the applause subsided, Xie Yunwan, at the request of her fans, asked Ye Qiao to introduce herself.
"Good evening, everyone."
"I’m Ye Qiao, but you can all call Qiaoqiao."
"I’m from the Yangcheng Boli Music Academy."
"I’m so honored to be on such a grand stage tonight, sharing it with my idol..."
Ye Qiao appeared graceful and composed, but she was actually a bit shy and suffering from stage fright. Although she had perford on stage many tis at her academy, how could a school stage compare to a grand venue like this, filled with thousands of people?
After her self-introduction, the stage lights went out again, and rhythmic music resud. Every thrumming beat of the bass seed to make one’s heart tremble.
When the lights ca back on, the two goddesses on stage had struck different dance poses. Ye Qiao suddenly reached down and tore away her long skirt, revealing a fluffy short skirt beneath that ended high on her thighs. A long ribbon shaped like a bow trailed from her waist, adding a touch of playful vivacity to her sensual look. Her beautiful legs, encased in glossy, skin-colored stockings, were now fully exposed.
In that instant, her entire aura underwent a dramatic transformation, shedding all traces of her previous timidity. If she was a house cat before, she was now a fiery wildcat. Amidst the cheers of the audience, she began to dance energetically. Her swaying waist, her moving legs... every motion was filled with rhythmic vitality.
"Holy crap..." In the private box, Sun Zhe’s eyes widened.
It was the first ti he had ever seen Ye Qiao perform such a dynamic dance. When they were together privately, she would refuse to dance for fun no matter how much he asked, at most wiggling her hips cheekily a few tis.
Sun Zhe asked, "Is this still the Qiaoqiao I know?"
Zhu Yan covered her mouth and giggled. "Of course it is."
"This is so explosive!"
Unexpectedly, at that very mont, Ye Qiao’s foot suddenly slipped. She fell hard, sprawling awkwardly on the ground. The music, however, did not stop for her mistake. Ye Qiao scrambled back up, looking incredibly composed as if nothing had happened, and imdiately resud her energetic dancing.
In the box, Sun Zhe’s eyes narrowed. "Her high heel snapped."
Hearing this, Zhu Yan’s eyes trembled. "How could that happen? We bought those shoes together, and they were brand new."
Sun Zhe frowned slightly. "Yan’Er, wait for here. I’m going to the dressing room to check on her."
From his observation, Sun Zhe could tell that her fall had been a nasty one and that she had likely hit her teeth. He was very worried. Besides, his intuition told him that her fall and the snapped high heel were no re accident.
After saying a few more words to Zhu Yan, Sun Zhe hurriedly left the box.
「On the other side.」
Ye Qiao endured the pain until the song ended, then retreated from the stage and returned to the backstage dressing room. Unexpectedly, as soon as she entered, she saw Sun Zhe.
"Brother? Why are you..."
Sun Zhe quickly put a finger to his lips, gesturing for silence. "I sneaked in. How are you? Did you hit your teeth?"
Feeling Sun Zhe’s concern, Ye Qiao’s strong facade crumbled. She squatted on the floor, her face full of grievance, and began to cry as she covered her face with her hands. His heart ached. He walked over, helped her up, and pulled her into his embrace, patting her shoulders gently to comfort her.
"Brother, am I useless?"
"I finally got a chance to be on such a big stage, but I ssed up so badly."
"BOOHOO... Brother, it hurts so much."
Sun Zhe quickly released her. "Open your mouth and let see."
Ye Qiao wiped away her tears and opened her mouth for him. Sun Zhe cupped her chin and leaned in to inspect it closely. He saw blood on her gums and noticed her front tooth seed loose, so he quietly infused a thread of Pure Yang True Qi to stop the pain.
As the Pure Yang True Qi entered her body, the pain subsided. But Ye Qiao suddenly felt a wave of heat spread through her. She instinctively pressed her legs together, her pretty face blushing as she gazed at the handso man before her, a bold thought suddenly flashing through her mind.
While she was lost in her wild thoughts, Sun Zhe let her go and said, "Qiaoqiao, let see your shoe."
Ye Qiao walked over to a small sofa and sat down. She took off the sexy, exquisite crystal high heels and said with a pained expression, "My heel snapped just now. Mom spent tens of thousands on these for ."
Sun Zhe replied, "A heel on a pair of shoes worth tens of thousands shouldn’t snap so easily."
Ye Qiao’s brow furrowed. "So you’re saying..."
Sun Zhe picked up the shoe, turned it over, and stared at the break. "Look. It’s obvious soone tampered with this. They sawed it partway through beforehand and then glued it back together."
Staring at the glue marks on the broken heel, Ye Qiao clenched her small fists in anger. "Who could be such a bastard? I haven’t offended anyone."
Sun Zhe said, "The goal was probably to make you ss up during your first major performance. They wanted to embarrass you in front of everyone." He then added, "And you definitely have offended soone."
Ye Qiao looked completely puzzled. "Who did I offend?"
Sun Zhe gazed at her intently and asked, "Whose interests did you threaten by appearing on this stage?"
Hearing this, Ye Qiao’s eyes trembled. She suddenly understood exactly what Sun Zhe ant.
"Could it be her?"
