"What did you say?"
Xia Shiyue’s words were like a thunderbolt exploding in Sun Zhe’s head.
"You are... my mom?"
Sun Zhe’s eyes widened, his body slightly trembling as he looked in disbelief at the stunning beauty in front of him who seed more like his sister. His mind was buzzing, unable to process what she just said.
"Are you really my mom?"
Xia Shiyue’s beautiful eyes glistened with moisture, her voice slightly choked, "Silly child, you’ve suffered all these years."
Sun Zhe’s eyes welled up as he stared blankly at Xia Shiyue, feeling incredibly unreal.
He had never thought he would actually et his mother one day.
Xia Shiyue walked up to him and stood still, gently stroking his cheek, suddenly a bit angry, "Has that old man been starving you all these years? Look at you, so thin."
"Uh..."
Sun Zhe’s expression was a bit stiff, "Um... let’s not talk about Grandpa like that."
Xia Shiyue took his hand, "Co, walk with mom."
"Okay."
Holding his hand, Xia Shiyue walked forward, suddenly asking, "Is that stone pillar still in the empty space behind our house?"
Upon hearing this, Sun Zhe was montarily stunned but quickly reacted, exclaiming, "How do you know about the stone pillar?"
Xia Shiyue smiled gently, "Because mom lived there for three years, and it’s where your dad and I got married."
"Uh... the stone pillar is still there, but it’s covered with moss."
Xia Shiyue reminisced, "That was what your dad used to practice martial arts back then; he moved it ho over two days from the mountain."
"So that’s how it is."
Xia Shiyue suddenly rembered sothing, "Ah, Ah Zhe, is that little koi in our fish pond still alive?"
Sun Zhe laughed, "It was doing well until Grandpa caught it and made a braised fish out of it. I had a big argunt with him over that."
Upon hearing this, Xia Shiyue clenched her fists, "That old man!"
Sun Zhe spread out his hands, "I was helpless too; that little koi was so cute and quite intelligent. Every ti I’d call it, it would surface and smack its lips."
Xia Shiyue sighed, "What a pity."
Sun Zhe said, "After arguing with Grandpa, I even drank a bowl of fish soup with tears."
Upon hearing this, Xia Shiyue tapped him on the head, "And you still have the nerve to say!"
Sun Zhe laughed and dodged.
"Don’t dodge, let mom give you a few smacks!"
"Uh..."
"Hey Ah Zhe, do those mulberry trees in our land still bear fruit?"
"Yes, they bear fruit every year, but they need pruning to bear more."
Xia Shiyue proudly said, "Those were planted by personally."
"Really? But Grandpa never told ."
"Seems like he kept everything from you."
Sun Zhe nodded, then suddenly asked, "Why didn’t you co to find all these years?"
Xia Shiyue sighed, "I wanted to, but that mountain had an array set by your Grandpa, and with my abilities, I couldn’t find the way ho. Since he intended to hide you away, no one could find you."
"Why the need to hide ?"
Xia Shiyue was silent for a mont before saying, "So things you can’t know just yet."
"Alright, I won’t ask then."
"..."
With Xia Shiyue, Sun Zhe felt a warmth in his heart, as if all the pains were healed.
Though it was his first ti eting Xia Shiyue, talking about familiar little things, he felt like they had already t a long, long ti ago and had lived together.
...
In the living room.
Zhu Yan stood at the door, watching the mother and son talking and laughing as they walked in the courtyard, a smile of relief on her face, feeling happy for Sun Zhe.
Ti passed like running water.
Before one knew it, it was ti for lunch.
Zhu Yan personally cooked, preparing a table full of dishes.
No delicacies from land and sea, just simple ho-cooked dishes, along with Sun Zhe’s favorite braised pork.
Having been bedridden for half a month, Sun Zhe was starving and wolfed down the food, lacking any grace.
Xia Shiyue watched her precious son with a "silly son from a wealthy family" gaze, suddenly asking, "Ah Zhe, when do you plan to let mom have a grandson?"
Upon hearing this, Sun Zhe paused, abruptly raising his head to look at Zhu Yan.
Zhu Yan’s face flushed red, hurriedly burying her head in the food, pretending she hadn’t heard anything.
The air beca suddenly silent.
"Well... I’m still young, not in a rush to have kids."
Upon hearing this, Xia Shiyue’s expression turned slightly stern, "Already twenty-five, not young anymore."
Sun Zhe countered, "Didn’t you say you were over three hundred years old before marrying dad and having ?"
Xia Shiyue’s face showed mild anger as she tapped his head, "Talking about you, and you divert it to ?"
Sun Zhe bitterly changed the topic, "By the way mom, when are you going back to Kyoto?"
"After your birthday. Actually, it’s quite busy over there."
Sun Zhe was surprised, "You know my birthday?"
But once the words were out, he quickly shut his mouth, realizing he’d asked an obvious question.
She gave birth to him; how could she not know his birthday?
Xia Shiyue looked at him with tender eyes, "Just five days away."
Sun Zhe’s nose suddenly tingled, burying his head in the food, "Thank you."
Xia Shiyue rubbed his head, asking, "Would you like to live with mom in Kyoto? What mom owes you over the years, I’ll definitely make up for."
"No."
Sun Zhe shook his head, directly declining, "I’m used to living in Yang City, I’ll visit you in Kyoto when I get the chance."
Xia Shiyue retorted, "What do you an by visiting in Kyoto? That’s your ho!"
"Makes sense."
Xia Shiyue seriously said, "Ah Zhe, no matter where you want to go or where you want to settle down, always rember you have a ho in Kyoto, and a mother who cares about you."
"Yes, I understand, mom."
"Understanding is good."
Sun Zhe asked, "By the way mom, what’s the deal with Qing Kui?"
"You’re talking about him; I see he has so skills and thought of keeping him as a bodyguard for you. That way, mom can be at ease when I’m not beside you."
"I see."
"..."
After lunch, Xia Shiyue ntioned she had sothing to do with Gu Lingxue, then left.
After a hearty al, Sun Zhe felt weak all over, and after sending Xia Shiyue off, he returned to his room to continue sleeping.
Zhu Yan restrained herself for many days, though desperately wanting him, thought better of it considering Sun Zhe’s injuries, deciding to endure for a few more days.
Ti flew by.
Night fell.
Sun Zhe woke up groggily, checked his phone, discovering it was already past ten at night.
His body was still in pain and felt weak.
He recalled igniting the Jiao Dragon Essence Blood while fighting Liu Bingyue, though his power surged, able to overpower Liu Bingyue, it inflicted great damage on himself, likely needing a long recovery.
Moreover, after being sucked by Liu Bingyue in the basent, his Primordial Qi was severely depleted.
"You’re awake?"
Amidst his thoughts, a sweet and charming voice suddenly sounded in his ears.
Sun Zhe’s spirit lifted, instantly recognizing it was Gu Lingxue’s voice!
"Damn, why are you on my bed?"
