Now reading: Chapter 278 - 88: Sewer Mermaid3 from Players Invade Cyberpunk, a Game novel by Pharmacist Mu Shaoai.

The players were noisy, their voices constantly echoing in the sewer, sowhat dispelling the original terrifying atmosphere here.

Wildman carried a large backpack, specially prepared for the mission.

Brother Ni took a box from his bag, opened it, and activated a drone, its three small fans imdiately whirring, carrying the big head in the middle like a little bee.

These drones were bought secondhand in bulk by Lin Miao from Zeta Technology and had the system flashed.

Although the appearance was still the Zeta Technology’s wife drone, inside it had been transford to Lin Miao’s design.

Plus, since it ca with obstacle recognition and laser scanning capabilities, having Lucy write a modeling software was no big deal. With a detailed map, the players wouldn’t get lost in there.

The cybernetic eye also has similar functions, it’s just that they can’t afford it.

The drawback is it’s pretty power-hungry, with the battery running full power lasting only three hours, so players need to prepare replacent batteries.

Those who want to do this can’t, and those who can won’t bother with such things.

Because who’s crazy enough to scan the entire city’s sewer?

But the players don’t care about that, they’re here to take everyone’s gold coins.

The team captains gathered around the only person who could understand the rough makeshift map, a sultry lady, for a eting.

After all, the city’s sewer map was filled with complex markings just looking at it made one dizzy, let alone morizing it.

Brother Dao: "Here are two directions, with forks both ahead and behind, which way do we go?"

The sultry lady said: "We are currently on the north side of Arroyo Valley. We definitely can’t continue north; that side is the map’s edge, and Westbrook hasn’t opened yet. We can either search to the south or head southeast toward Coronado Farm."

"The directions you are seeing for these pipelines are useless, their design is three-dinsional, going up, going down, turning east, turning west, and with slopes and inclines. Without a map, you won’t know which way this pipeline goes."

"We can only walk as we observe."

Wildman: "Then let’s start walking and see. Brother Dao, you take three teams, we’ll take three, heading in two directions. Along the way, we can use adhesive to stick lighting sticks on the wall as markers. Best not to talk loudly, who knows if hostile NPCs might hear. If anything happens, ask for help promptly."

Mongolian Toplaner: "What if the sluices open and water rushes through? Isn’t that shit hitting the fan level? I hate these situations the most."

Sultry Lady: "When the sluices open and water rushes, there will definitely be airflow, big movents, just pay more attention. If you hear it, head back. If it’s impossible, climb upward or find a ladder to hold on to."

From the players’ perspective, the mini-map was just a pitch-black expanse, with only a cluster of little green dots representing allies squeezed together.

Soon, this cluster of little green dots began to split into two teams heading in two directions slowly, and as they moved, the previously pitch-black fog gradually dissipated, transforming into red circular pipelines similar to a ga map.

But the path ahead was dark, and no one knew what they might encounter.

......

Under the swirling colorful lights was the nightclub’s explosive rock music. n and won were freely releasing all their suppressed inner selves in this dim and garish environnt, with company dogs and gangsters alike.

And naturally, the one causing the most commotion was the big chunk of iron at the center of the stage!

"Yeah, yeah, yeah! Get hyped! Get hyped with !"

Jack wore the Death Knight, and his already towering figure seed to grow another notch, and with his xican-inspired artwork, he was the brightest dude on stage.

Jack was like a moon surrounded by stars in the crowd, as n and won squeezed against him, hands constantly touching him, almost producing a shine.

Who knows how many people hinted or left contact information for a chance at a passionate encounter with him.

Even sitting on his shoulder was a petite woman who even pulled off the skull mask, ready for a hot kiss with Jack, only for Jack to quickly hold her back.

"Oh, beauty, calm down, if you keep this up my mom’s going to throw you out of the bar."

Mrs. Wells, even though she ran a bar, was quite conservative. If Jack were to fool around with a delinquents outside, he would most likely end up with broken legs when he got ho.

Not to ntion, this was his mom’s bar; Jack wouldn’t dare fool around right under her nose.

Until he got tired of dancing, squeezing through the enthusiastic crowd to the bar, he removed the exoskeleton with Pei Pei the bartender’s help, and stood it up as a display statue.

He walked to a booth, grabbed a tall glass of iced beer from the table and gulped it down in several swigs until it was empty.

The person seated opposite, V, looked on and comnted jokingly, "Are you a barrel of beer?"

Jack wiped his mouth, "My good heavens, V, you didn’t see their expressions; it was like they were about to eat alive."

"You’re so well-built, letting them have a nibble wouldn’t lose you a few pounds." V chuckled, his gaze drifting toward the exoskeleton.

"Now you’re advertising for people? If you’re short on cash, just tell , I’ll get a contract from the marketing departnt that pays more than this, wouldn’t it?"

"It’s different, V, I really enjoy this. Wearing it makes feel like Superman. The money is just alongside the fun. I can’t stand your Huang Ban stuff, and, my mom... you know her, she doesn’t like big corporate items appearing here."

V nodded, changing the subject.

"This stuff has been selling well recently in the city, many bars and gangs are buying. But I advise you to be careful, try to avoid dealings with Horizon Corporation."

Jack was sowhat displeased, "What do you an? Are you, Huang Ban, up to sothing again?"

His friendship with V broke through the company dog stereotype purely because they clicked, not because he had a favorable view of Huang Ban.

"Heard so news." V shook his head. If it wasn’t for Jack’s sake, she wouldn’t have paid attention to such small company issues.

"It’s not just Huang Ban, I suspect even Military Science’s marketing departnt is assessing the market value of this gear. If they’re getting involved, Huang Ban will definitely follow suit. The outco for this small company could either be acquisition or getting kicked out, neither being good. Don’t get caught up in it."
