If asked which city is the most famous in Arica, the vast majority of people will imdiately recall New York, if not Los Angeles or San Francisco.
If you ask many Easterners where Arica’s capital is, most of them will still answer New York.
Compared to those economically developed areas, Washington as a political center is sowhat of a small presence.
It might not even be more famous than the local White House or Pentagon.
Washington is not even in Washington State, one is on the West Coast and one is on the East Coast, separated by tens of thousands of miles, and Washington State has even independently beco the Washington Republic.

Forr Military Science CEO, now the President of the United States, was sitting in her presidential office in Washington, alone in the room, watching the dialogue between two people on her computer screen.

Just like every connection between the opposition party and the ruling party.
When she was in the opposition party, she spared no effort in promoting the dangers of the authoritarian governnt, at any cost preventing the governnt from expanding its powers.
But once elected to the ruling party, all the words she spoke in the past beca nonsense, imdiately changing her tune and finding ways to expand governnt power.
Miles was like this, the forr president Elizabeth Criss was like this too.
They both served as Military Science CEOs, but when they beca New Arica’s presidents, the only thing on their minds was how to nationalize Military Science, making it part of New Arica and expanding the governnt’s jurisdiction.
Then...they actually managed to do that halfway.
That’s why it’s called "halfway," as Military Science nominally did beco nationalized, but the core remained autonomous, controlled by the current CEO Lucas Harvard, making it difficult for the governnt to intervene.
Elizabeth and Miles had planned for more than twenty years for the Unity War, only to suffer a crushing defeat at Night City, originally intending to unify nationwide prestige and completely take over Military Science, causing New Arica’s plan to return to its peak to be shelved.
Military Science was willing to lend a hand in Night City to press the Trauma Team, partly indeed for Lin Miao’s possession, partly to hamr the Trauma Team, a Washington Republic enterprise.
This group caused plenty of trouble for New Arica during the Unity War.

Having been New Arica’s vanguard team, they now establish themselves in Night City, even managing businesses successfully. Although Miles sold them first, Dog Town essentially beca an indelible band-aid for New Arica.
"Within a year, I will make Kurt Hansen and his Dog Town disappear from this world forever."

New Arica has never abandoned its plan for unification, whether the enemy is Huang Ban or the European Community.
