He started to think that maybe, it wasn’t those legendary genetic issues, but multiple factors like society, natural environnt, and history that ultimately created this widespread racial discrimination.

Just like the Yellow Peril theory back in the days.

Looking at the child, skinny as a bag of bones with only an unnaturally swollen belly, the resident sympathetically picked up a piece of fruit candy from the table and placed it in front of the child.

"Here, let brother give you so candy. Eat it, and the pain will go away."

The child eagerly took the candy, tore open the wrapping paper, and threw it into his mouth imdiately, as if afraid the resident would change his mind.

The sweet taste was far more delicious than the expired protein blocks and vegetable paste he usually ate.

Then he rembered his mother’s advice and shyly said to the resident in halting English,

"Thank you, doctor."

The resident smiled, perhaps realizing that this was what he aspired to by choosing to be a doctor, and then began a new day of dical consultations.

Only he didn’t know that today’s consultations were destined to be fraught with difficulties.

Brigitte entered Night City’s local internet, hacked the NCPD’s surveillance system, and started searching for the ambulance with the license plate CA834N.

Thanks to NCPD’s ’budget cuts’ effort for going public, many surveillance caras in districts outside the city center were damaged.

Either smashed by gangs or deteriorated over ti, forcing Brigitte to spend a long ti just to locate the surveillance footage of the ERO ambulance.

Though the video was intermittent, the tistamps indicated that it hadn’t stopped en route, and when it entered Taiping Continent, even though the surveillance was completely blind, the Voodoo Gang had people waiting at the entry point and escorted it all the way. No chance for tampering at such a point.

In other words, this ambulance likely hadn’t been swapped and drove straight from ERO to Taiping Continent.

She didn’t exit cyberspace but asked her henchman who was deep diving with her,

"Did our signal detector pick up any anomalous radar signals?"

"Uh... hold on..." The henchman imdiately pulled up the relevant data to check the records.

The Voodoo Gang had its own anti-surveillance system; otherwise, they wouldn’t repeatedly escape from the grasp of the Internet Supervisor.

"About ten minutes ago, there was a weak signal near us. The system judged it as a passing drone, but the location was very close to the free clinic encampnt."

"That’s them."

Brigitte imdiately surfaced from the dive and sent a ssage to Qatar, who was staking out near the encampnt.

"Take action."

The subnet of the Sea God is the lifeblood of the Voodoo Gang, and she couldn’t tolerate any potential risk, even if it was just a hint.

Moreover, there was irrefutable evidence of the other party being involved with the Internet Supervisor, and they were causing trouble deep in Haiti. There’s no choice but to eliminate them. They might as well lay low for a while after finishing this job to avoid the heat.

She then turned to her henchman beside her and said, "Let’s go and check nearby."

Originally, it should’ve been Placid following her, but in her mind, he had been kicked out of the trust circle. She would seize this opportunity to eliminate this hidden threat if possible.

In fact, even if they eventually found a way to beco data life, she wouldn’t let Placid be a part of it.

The ones going could only be her trusted henchman.

anwhile, a group of ard Voodoo Gang mbers had already charged toward the outer crowd of the free clinic camp.

Maybe because they were all Haitians, and they saw each other daily in this small circle, they didn’t dare to push rudely but instead tried to make noise for the crowd to disperse voluntarily.

"Move aside! Move aside!"

"These doctors are suspicious. They are spies sent by the Internet Supervisor. Don’t be fooled by them!"

The clueless crowd cleared a path in bewildernt.

Internet Supervisor? Weren’t they doctors?

More than a few here might not even have heard of Huang Ban, and basic education was a complete ss.

The ard personnel quickly barged into the barricade, dragged out the Haitian who was adjusting his prosthetic limb, and aid guns at Swordfish and Chad.

Ordinary folks might have capitulated for the ti being, but could players bear this?

Swordfish imdiately raised his gun, and even Chad pulled out a small pistol.

What, you look down on doctors, huh? Hey, we’re battlefield dics, okay?

Just a bit shaky when it cos to gun expertise.

"What are you doing, robbing?" Chad looked angrily at the patients being driven away and his eyes reddened, "I warn you, get out quickly, don’t interfere with saving people!"

Every minute delayed, he treated one less person. Could they afford to compensate?

The Voodoo Gang was stunned by his words. Damn, no wonder the Internet Supervisor’s agents act so convincingly?

"Still pretending, we’ve already discovered your secret!"

Discovered?

Secret!

Chad was shocked.

"You know I’m a virgin?"

Inside the tent, silence fell instantly.

"..."

"..."

Swordfish held back his laughter and said, slightly sympathetically, "I think that’s not what he ant."

"Ah!"

Chad’s hand tightened on the trigger, bloodlust surged, ready to kill everyone there to protect his biggest secret, but then he thought. Dammit, Swordfish is right next to him; even killing wouldn’t help.

"Hold on a bit; let’s see what’s going on. Ask clearly, maybe there’s a misunderstanding." Swordfish cooled down first and pushed Chad’s hand with the pistol down, looking at the incoming Voodoo Gang mbers.

"Explain clearly, what are you here for?"

The Voodoo Gang shook off the earlier fiasco and cursed angrily.

"Company’s dogs played their roles. We almost got fooled by you! Spill it, what did the Internet Supervisor send you to do?"
