[Office Type 1 Construction Completed]
Since he gathered enough intelligence, Lin Miao returned earlier today than yesterday. But what he didn’t expect was that halfway through the drive, he was notified of the task’s completion in his head.
This news both surprised and delighted him because, according to yesterday’s calculations, players were expected to finish building the office by tomorrow noon at the earliest. Yet this group of diligent workers completed it today. The work efficiency would make company dogs at Huang Ban and Military Science curse them as corporate thieves.
However, it was strange that no subsequent mainline tasks popped up, only three side quests—building defense facilities, completing at least 30KW of independent power supply, and constructing three different individually designed buildings.
When he returned, four players were sitting on the ground floor of a blue-black fortress, playing poker with a deck they had found.
Wildman: "Three with one. When I can modify myself, I’ll first turn into a T800, wear a jacket and sunglasses, and ride a motorcycle on the highway every day. If soone annoys , I’ll just punch them to death."
Leader: "Pass, T800 has no appeal. You’re a Wildman, not the robot Fujita Gou. A real man should beco a Gundam, right? Aren’t F91s way cooler than T800s?"
Potato: "Four Jacks, huh. With your intelligence, if you pilot a Gundam, I’m afraid you won’t take two steps before you accidentally rip out your own... egg."
Leader: "Why? You think everyone has eggs as big as yours, Huang Xudong?"
"The BOSS is coming, the BOSS is coming!"
Brother Ni’s eyesight was still good, even though his physique was only 3, his reflexes remained sharp.
Upon hearing him, the other three quickly got up from the ground.
The Leader excitedly said, "I knew finishing it would trigger a storyline CG. Guess what rewards we’ll get later?"
Lin Miao was also surprised seeing the building behind them. Unlike the patched-up, ramshackle hut it was before he left, all the scattered parts had been integrated together. The exterior featured blue-black tallic armor plates, with the original wooden plywood and compressed high-density boards as insulation layers inside. The masonry contained the sa steel panel layers with presumably good bulletproof effect—ordinary 7.62mm bullets couldn’t penetrate them; the only issue might be its poor fire resistance.
The wooden floor of the hall shimred under the sun with a waxed sheen, the old liquor cabinet turned into a digital gun cabinet, and the bar beca a white reception desk, with the DJ and dance screen hanging above it. Tattered sofas were renewed, the pool table transford into a large tactical command table, and the transparent groove in the middle seed ready for fake 3D projection mapping when powered. A row of tables and chairs, seemingly ant for equipping electronic devices, was placed under the stair up to the second floor but was empty.
Upon reaching the second floor, besides the five guest rooms, there was an outpost on the balcony with mounted guns. Once the door closed, the place turned into an impenetrable fortress.
The basent was unseen by Lin Miao, but major changes had clearly occurred as the original reward, the modification pod, did not appear in his backpack. It was evidently directly installed in the basent.
The entire building looked totally out of place in this town, and even the art style had changed from a western town to a military training base.
If it were in the ga, it wouldn’t be surprising to build such things with resources, and it wouldn’t be an issue for players, since it’s a ga. Even if they hamred out a battleship on an empty field, it would be within understanding. But having this scene appear in a real place for Lin Miao still had an uncanny sense of discord.
The system called this change information integration, but in Lin Miao’s eyes, it was like magic. Maybe when a primitive man entered modern society and saw the iron shells driving along the streets, he would feel the sa wondrous sensation as Lin Miao did.
Facing the players who gathered to submit the task, Lin Miao wished he could hug each of them and kiss them, but unfortunately, he couldn’t because he’s not Nantong.
"You all really gave a surprise, comrades."
As Lin Miao said this, he felt like he had beco the system, as he casually pointed
A notification popped into the eyes of the four simultaneously
[Main Quest for Beginners: Building a Ho (Completed)]
[Rewards Distributed According to Contribution]
Assassin, who couldn’t possibly be Brother Ni, received 750 Eurocoins and 500 GP points, while the remaining three each got 500 Eurocoins and 350 GP points.
The contribution points went directly into the players’ systems, while the Eurocoins were naturally taken from Lin Miao’s pre-prepared stack of cash for distribution.
However, Lin Miao’s skilled currency counting still astonished the four, as it was their first ti receiving physical currency in a ga. The feeling of holding cash in their hands was unlike simply watching account numbers change, the sense of accomplishnt and excitent was far beyond the latter.
The Leader whispered to Brother Ni, "Why are there two types of currency for task rewards, one paper currency and one virtual currency, what does that an?"
Brother Ni thought for a mont and said, "Probably for different uses. The paper currency should be the common currency in this world of the ga, usable in other places, like trading with NPCs or sothing. GP points might be like in-ga purchase points or special store coupons in older online gas, ga pay... Basically the money for buying limited items."
"But 750 Eurocoins is quite a lot, considering we’ve only worked for less than two days. If Eurocoins are like euros, converting to a monthly salary, it would be over twelve or thirteen thousand euros!"
