Without the network, unable to contact superiors or comrades, a feeling of emptiness and confusion instantly engulfed the Chaotic Blade Association squad.

Eugene, after suppressing the hiding place of the players in the material yard with his machine gun, turned his head and loudly asked the captain,

"ngste, when will the network be restored?"

ngste stared blankly at his phone, where a cat-headed robot had eaten away all the app icons on the screen and was now napping in place.

He realized his phone had been turned into a brick, but had no ans to stop the other side, watching helplessly as his phone was humiliated.

This feeling of being cuckolded made him extrely pained, then he looked at the female team mber beside him who was tied up and still owing, and he flew into a rage, kicking her.

"Shut up, gan!"

The situation, which had just been smooth sailing, took a sudden downturn, making everyone agitated. Perhaps kicking gan slightly vented his frustration, his tone eased sowhat.

"Maybe it'll be fine soon. Hey, Wolfs, go down the mountain and ask what's going on. When will the network be restored?"

Before coming here, they were promised three days of fun in Night City after capturing Stone Ridge Mountain.

The sex dolls in big cities are not comparable to the old stock in the Chaotic Blade Association's camp. Everyone below was eager to have a good ti.

Wolfs, being called out, was a bit reluctant because in his view, pushing a bit more would allow them to capture this material yard, and they might seize so good stuff.

Those foren love to secretly stash the workers' wages issued from above in iron boxes under their pillows.

Now he was going down the mountain, only to rely on ngste's integrity to get any liquor when he climbed back up.

But as he just stood up, a barrage of bullets turned Wolfs into a sieve.

"What?"

This sudden situation caught even Eugene, the machine gunner, off guard. He had clearly suppressed that group under the material pile, where did people co from?

However, everyone soon discovered that it wasn't humans attacking them, but a door fra equipped with electronic control machine guns.

The rotating machine gun spewed a long fla, sending dust and sand flying everywhere.

"What the hell is that thing!"

Eugene scread, putting away his machine gun and hiding back into cover.

"Isn't that an industrial robot? How is it firing shots?"

The intel showed this thing was ant for building repairs, there was no ntion of mounting machine guns.

ngste, "It must be an illegal modification! Quickly, strike it down!"

Eugene, "I can't! Its firepower is too fierce!"

"Artillery! Arti..."

Originally intending to call for artillery to blast away this firepower point, ngste suddenly realized that he hadn't heard any artillery for a long ti, only the tearing sound of the door fra rotary machine gun.

Coupling that with the intense network fluctuations.

Could it be that…

ngste now strongly suspected soone had attacked the back-end server, uploaded a virus onto the local network, and perhaps even knocked out the artillery unit…

Moreover, it wouldn't be surprising if they were now closing in on them here.

Logically, even with severe network fluctuations, vertical mortars could be manually operated, right? No reason for them all to go silent, is there?

The more ngste thought about it, the more terrifying it seed.

Especially now amidst network disconnection, he even had the illusion that his squad were the only ones left fighting in isolation against the world.

anwhile, loud roars from the opposite side awakened him:

"Ura———"

"The sky belongs to Hafke!!!"

"Everyone! Charge with !!!"

There were only three or four people originally behind the material pile, yet now the players shouted out with the montum of thousands of troops.

Especially having been suppressed by the other side for so long, finally getting a chance to counterattack and vent, they wouldn't care what's right or wrong.

Regardless of whether they hit or not, to hell with it all, just start firing towards where the enemy had set up the machine gun as if bullets cost nothing.

ngste, "Fire back! Weber, that robot can't sweep for long, use the rocket launcher to take it out, we'll suppress those guys, don't let them break through!"

No matter how fierce the firepower from the door fra, ngste's squad could only shift slightly behind the material pile, evading gunfire to initiate a counterattack.

But an even more despairing scene unfolded.

The door fra, which was just suppressing them, had its barrels turned red from the friction of bullets, but as it ceased fire, it stood there, quickly unfolding thick armor plates around its legs, shutting the previously vacant door.

It even fixed explosive spikes into the ground, making it look like a temporary bunker.

Still, a temporary bunker with narrow shooting windows.

A long barrel poked out from the shooting window.

Rat-a-tat-tat!!!

A spraying tallic storm instantly split Weber, who had just reloaded to blast the door fra, in two. The rocket soared skyward at a forty-five-degree angle and turned into a firework when it exploded.

Finally, the long-lost artillery sound echoed through the air.

Only, it wasn't from the Chaotic Blade Association's artillery unit, but from imitation 82-type mortar shells coming from within the construction site.

This was, after all, a player-established early munitions factory. Though the bulk was stockpiled in the Stone Ridge Mountain tunnel, plenty was stored in player shops.

Angered players ignored concerns about saving money for advanced prosthetics or career transition internships. They bought guns, bullets, artillery, whatever they could, and fired it all out!

Of course, they weren't firing willy-nilly either. Among the players were military enthusiasts. Though they couldn't achieve surgical precision like smart munitions, based on mini-maps and player callouts, after a trial shot, they could pinpoint the general direction. A few rounds of elevated, curved fire dismayed the various Chaotic Blade Association divisions.
