"Told you to freaking shoot! Told you to hit my thigh!"
"Damn, scared the crap out of !"
"Even the site supervisor doesn’t dare to hit !"
"I am a dignified master Assassin, Ezio’s thirty-eighth generation disciple, almost died at your hands!"
The poor underling, his hands were clearly prosthetics, very strong, but unable to withstand the group blades. He accidentally fell during a venting-style attack from four people and was imdiately hacked beyond recognition.
Yet, they hadn’t killed anyone before, each cut avoided vital parts and wasn’t very forceful, resulting in him lying there gasping for air while blood bubbles gurgled from his mouth. Who knows if he was begging for a swift death or cursing the craziness of this group.
In the end, even in death, he couldn’t find peace, glaring at the heavens as if questioning why he encountered such a bunch of cyber maniacs.
After confirming all the wild creatures were killed, players piled their bodies onto the vehicle, and Brother Dao lanted once again.
"This ga, the combat scene is legit aweso, when the bullet grazed my ear, I almost thought I was really done for, my ear was ringing but it only hurt a little bit."
"Bullshit." Red Barrel sat in the passenger seat, pressing his still bleeding right thigh, "A little more to the side and I might as well have killed myself."
Only Brother Ni and the La Warrior surrounded the silver-haired Natural Curl.
La Warrior: "Damn, bro, what do you do in real life to kill so efficiently?"
Brother Ni: "Though I don’t want to admit it, you were indeed a bit cooler than just now."
A blade precisely hit the wrist joint, a thrown dagger could pierce the opponent’s chest accurately. Even if the silver-haired claid he had killed in reality, they’d believe him.
The silver-haired Natural Curl rolled his eyes, then returned to his dead fish-eyed look.
"Graduated from martial arts school, went to Hengdian as a martial arts director after graduation, recently preparing to go back ho and be a swordsmanship coach at a martial arts club."
"Aweso, bro, when can you teach so moves?"
"Co on, this is a futuristic world, learning swordsmanship is pointless. Didn’t you see my left hand got shot through? Better practice Kahaha instead."
"You don’t understand, future lee skills definitely have a place." Brother Ni was still not giving up, saying "The other day when we ambushed wild creatures here, I personally saw one use an acceleration skill, though it killed itself by falling, but that just shows he’s lousy, having skills is a fact."
"So?"
"Having skills ans multi-classing, like Overwatch, relying on skills like super speed, advanced armor for quick lee range, in such cases wielding a blade is certainly superior to a gun."
The silver-haired Natural Curl suspiciously looked at this guy but thought he wouldn’t lose out either, so he said
"We’ll see about the skills later. Learning martial arts is not a one-day thing."
He glanced at his left arm again, "It’s more important to bring everything back for now, and if we wait any longer, you might have to carry a few more corpses."
"I’m gonna die! Do you know that! Idiot!!!"
...
Players’ loot from this trip was beyond Lin Miao’s expectations.
Two cars of goods, three corpses, four guns, one modified car, and a motorcycle.
Lin Miao originally thought of them as laborers, hadn’t imagined they’d encounter Night Wanderer, because the Evil Land is vast, the junk mountain covers a large area too, the planned route should’ve avoided Night Wanderers.
Thus, the encounter was entirely accidental.
Still, Lin Miao was able to obtain real-ti battlefield information via W and the players’ prosthetic eyes. He really wanted to know what players could accomplish without his help.
8V3, plus players being unafraid of death or pain, as long as they didn’t charge forward like fools, taking down Night Wanderer after losing two or three players shouldn’t be a big issue.
They were all a bunch of stray dogs who couldn’t survive in the city.
Otherwise, Lin Miao would have forbidden them from firing at Night Wanderer initially, instead hiding and waiting for them to leave.
But the final result was 6 injuries, 0 deaths, taking down three wild creatures, returning triumphantly.
Although the decoy gunners and the flanking ambushers’ cooperation was a bit off, the effect still erged.
Chicken pecking at each other.
The remains of the two kidnapped bodies were casually buried by the players, with no intention to bring them back.
Back at the little town, they first moved the wounded into the office’s basent for treatnt. After all, following the small version update, newbies have a chance at free treatnt surgery, they can log out during treatnt without counting ga ti, no reason not to use it, the severely wounded Red Barrel and silver-haired Natural Curl were directly thrown in to log off.
Next was task settlent for the players.
Lin Miao directly tossed 300 euros to the players as basic reward for the mission. Even though he wanted to completely monopolize the players’ achievents, reason told him it’s better not to.
After biotric recycling was done, he sat aside, watching how these small players planned to distribute the loot.
"Bastard, so black, too fucking black, if this dog rchant were in Skyrim I’d save and kill him ten tis over."
Brother Ni returned from the counter, cursing under his breath, with his ear still wrapped in gauze, resembling a one-eared dog.
Sitting on the couch, the potato wrapping gauze around the giant’s right hand asked, "What’s up?"
Brother Ni: "That modified car can only be sold for 1000 euros, a cargo truck buys for 4000! Other prosthetics are roughly four or five tis the price, rchant bastard damn it!"
Brother Dao: "Gas are usually like this, how could they sell things at original price? Back then, I accidentally sold equipnt to the store for just a few thousand, but buying it back cost over ten thousand."
Wildman: "What do we do then? Keep the car for ourselves?"
La Warrior: "Or, we calculate the loot’s total price using the store’s purchase price, then distribute points proportionally to everyone, everyone bids with their points for what they want, if anything is leftover unsold, we sell it to the NPC and divide the money based on each person’s remaining points balance, this ensures fairness."
Lin Miao listened and nodded quietly, this thod was very reminiscent of how DKP and G group loot was settled in old MMORPG raids. Only, factors like the leader running off with the loot could occur, hence needing a representative with enough credibility to manage the auction.
Previously in MMORPGs, either the guild leader or raid leader handled this. But now... Lin Miao felt he should take charge.
"W, note down what they said, we can try to implent this raid settlent thod in the future."
"Understood."
Four prosthetics 800 points: Two right hands, one left hand, one right leg. There should’ve been five, but one right hand had its joint severed by the silver-haired Natural Curl. While not completely scrapped, it’s about done.
Back neck slot nerve connectors three sets 300
One set of prosthetic eyes was shattered by the players, 2 sets remain for 200
sets of leg enhancent tendons 400
Two sets of bionic joints 200
Two submachine guns two pistols 800
Bullets are scarce, so they’re bundled with the guns.
One motorcycle 800
Modified car 1200
Besides this, there were artificial organs, biomitic muscle fibers, and bone-tal implants, totaling 500
Total 4400, veteran players 660 each, newbies 440 each
No doubt the auction is disadvantageous to newbies, but veteran players mainly target prosthetics, while newbies who haven’t undergone basic modifications need not buy prosthetics because they lack enough GP points for surgery, focusing instead on guns.
Moreover, the auction has to wait until injured players complete the system’s free treatnt.
