"Starting today, no cars are allowed to leave here, and no one is allowed to work for Horizon Corporation!"
Bang!
A driver who had just clashed with the Sixth Street Gang was captured and had his head blown off with a shot.
"From now on, if we see Horizon Corporation's cars on the street, no matter who you are, you'll end up like this company dog!"
Watching their colleague die before their eyes, the workers' faces turned red with suppressed anger, each clenching their fists, but none dared to stand up.
Horizon Corporation's rcenary reputation is formidable, but the workers are not rcenaries; they fear death.
Seeing them like this, the gang mbers, averaging around twenty years old, laughed casually, indifferent.
They don't care what Horizon Corporation does; they only believe they're doing the right thing. To them, company dogs are no good, even if these company dogs might have recently been their neighbors.
At this mont, a subordinate ran over hurriedly to shout to the leader.
"They're coming! They're coming! Soone's coming!"
Clearly, it's just a few 'bystanders' attracted by gunshots, but it made the leader feel like facing a formidable enemy.
"Go! Go! Go!"
Seven or eight cars quickly sped away, leaving behind a ss and a stench.
The Sixth Street Gang left, but the workers couldn't feel happy. Growing up on this land, they know the gang isn't joking; the body of their colleague on the ground is the best proof.
"Why...?"
Unable to bear the blow, a female driver squatted on the ground, covering her face and sobbing in grievance.
They never offended these gangs; their work was for the good of all Night City people, yet now they found themselves under gang attack.
All hopes for a better life seem to have turned into bubbles.
And this place wasn't the only one under attack.
A garbage truck already on the road in the Kabuki District was intercepted by Tiger Claw gang mbers, and the driver was dragged off the truck.
By the ti nearby players received the alert and arrived, the garbage truck had been doused in gasoline and set on fire, and the driver was stabbed multiple tis and hung on a streetlight, with white cloth written in the driver's blood in Japanese.
[Horizon Corporation must die!]
[Long live Tiger Claw Gang!] and similar phrases.
So vendors daring enough to stock Horizon purified water had their stalls overturned, with mineral water dumped onto the ground by gang mbers. Worse, so were forced to drink dozens of bottles, causing them to burst and die.
The dark side of Night City, gradually repressed by Horizon Corporation in the past half year, exploded completely, wildly retaliating against anything related to Horizon.
That day, seven Horizon employees died from retaliation, twenty-one were injured, four cars were destroyed, and city operations had to be temporarily halted.
Though players captured so gang mbers, it was useless; they were re young cannon fodder deliberately thrown out.
Gang leaders rouse them with a few words and drugs, making these hot-blooded youths do whatever they're told, without considering consequences.
Even so employees' hos on the street were invaded by gang mbers for beatings and life-threatening actions.
Upon hearing this the next morning, players sward to trouble those gangs.
But the gangs were prepared, having already relocated or abandoned hideouts, leaving only irrelevant cannon fodder, causing no significant loss.
As for legal industries, players couldn't get in to vandalize or kill.
As a result, the turmoil spread across the city, making workers fearful and unwilling to work, impacting many players' gaming experiences.
For the first ti, players felt the limits of their violence against these slippery gangs.
In Night City districts, the perpetually chaotic Taiping Continent seed less troubled, mainly because local major gangs were either already eradicated, while Cleaner was targeted by players and now insignificant, and Animal Gang... these Steroid Star People were unqualified to participate, mainly because they're not bright, prone to ssing things up.
"Isn't this unbelievable? Damn, it's disgusting, our great Ro."
Jing Luo, wearing a mohawk helt, was truly furious now; if they hadn't run fast enough from the red marks, a driver delivering materials for the ice room might have been captured and beaten by the Vortex Gang.
But when several Vortex Gang mbers saw soone chasing, they imdiately ran like crazy, caught up to only one.
"Now I understand why they fought gang cri all those years."
Tearful, Jing Luo threw the Vortex Gang corpse to the street side, waiting for NCPD to co collect the body.
Previously, they thought these gangs were just experience targets for farming, but when those gang mbers turned against Horizon Corporation employees who had expanded to a certain scale, the level of disgust was worse than dealing with Huang Ban.
"Initially, there was so goodwill towards these gangsters, but now it's all gone. I feel like it's a sign for a next big quest."
The cops who arrived, looking at the Vortex Gang corpse, frowned.
"Dispose of the body."
"Eh... Aren't we handing it over to NCPD?"
Jing Luo, still furious, found it strange; although Horizon Corporation was now paying the bounty, they lacked authority to detain external offenders.
The cop shook his head.
"During tis like this, you can't trust those officers; it's likely they're involved."
He understood black-and-white collusion all too well; such large-scale conflict must be preditated, and NCPD might have received notifications.
Officers with a conscience mostly followed the Taiping Continent branch now; NCPD can no longer be trusted.
