"Co out!" Just from a single passing glance, Hugo sensed soone hiding nearby. He leaped into the air, his hand touching a spot that imdiately opened a hole. Through this opening, he also reached the floor below. Before his feet even touched the ground, he waved his hand toward the direction he sensed, and the debris left from the battle transford into countless "scalpels" that shot out, nailing themselves densely across the floor and walls, heading straight for the figure in the corner!
"Divine protection for the faithful!" A white light erupted from the corner. Under its illumination, those scalpel-like sharp weapons lost all their force and clattered to the ground. Then Serin, dressed in his distinctive attire, stepped out and addressed Hugo, "Sir, there's no need for such intense anger. We are all trapped in this dungeon and should be watching out for each other."
Hugo turned around without wasting words. He swept a hand across the wall, and from beneath his palm, two Spring Ropes shot out, swiftly darting forward to flank Serin from both sides.
Those two Spring Ropes were aid at binding him, and they were covered in uneven patches of black and gray.
"Be careful!" Xu Huo was in the corridor opposite where Serin had erged. Seeing this, he shouted a warning, "Those black spots can kill!"
"Filthy things!" Serin deftly dodged the Spring Ropes. As they passed by him, he pulled out a bottle and splashed its contents onto the ropes. With a sizzling sound, the sections of rope that got wet began to foam with white bubbles. By the ti the ropes retracted back to Hugo, the black-gray pathogens on them had vanished.
Hugo frowned, looking seriously at Serin. "Are you with that woman upstairs?"
"You an that beautiful lady wearing the butterfly mask?" Serin put away his bottle. "I have not had the fortune of knowing her."
Hugo waved a hand dismissively upon hearing this. "Then step aside. I'm looking for that kid who's hiding."
Serin glanced sideways at Xu Huo and sighed. "That goes against my religious beliefs. I will not refuse anyone who seeks my help."
Both Xu Huo and the later-arriving Lu Yun looked at Serin with considerable surprise. Hugo, however, naturally lumped him together with Xu Huo. Without further ado, his figure flickered and he appeared beside Serin, sweeping a leg horizontally!
The physical fitness and speed of a B-rank player were not sothing C-rank and D-rank players could compare to. Xu Huo deliberately mobilized the excrescences on the wall to attack Hugo, but they were torn apart by the wind pressure from his sweeping leg, utterly ineffective. In just the blink of an eye, Hugo and Serin were already exchanging blows.
Serin was not as frail as he appeared. He used an item to block the flying kick. Though he was forced back several steps, he wasn't injured. At the sa ti, his other hand flung out several long nails aid straight at Hugo's eyes!
The latter didn't even bother using an item, relying purely on speed to evade the three nails. As he changed direction, he slashed the air with his scalpel. Then, without even glancing at Serin, he turned directly toward Xu Huo's location.
Xu Huo had anticipated he would co for him. While predicting the move, he already had the Crimson Sword in hand. It was a new day, so the Fair Wallet could be used again. Therefore, both the wallet and the kite string flew out simultaneously, while the Greedy Snake item had long been tucked on his person.
But he hadn't expected Hugo's speed to be so terrifyingly fast. Not only did the Crimson Sword fail to strike him, even the Fair Wallet was ineffective because before the wallet could even land, Hugo was already right in front of him!
"Boom!" Hugo stepped on a shield hidden in the air. This shield item was one Xu Huo had just taken from Jiang Feng. Despite being so distance from its user, Xu Huo still felt an imnse oppressive force and was forced back two steps under the impact.
But that wasn't the end. Hugo, pressing him back, grabbed the invisible shield with one hand. In a re two seconds, the shield turned to dust. Then, with a swing of his scalpel, Hugo directly sliced open Xu Huo's throat—even Lu Yun, who tried to rescue from the side, was too late. Despite attacking the mont Hugo stepped on the shield, he couldn't catch up!
His punch missing its mark, Lu Yun was imdiately kicked flying over ten ters away. If the excrescences on the wall hadn't caught him, his bones would likely have been shattered on the spot. Even so, after landing, he vomited a mouthful of blood. But as he knelt on the ground, he suddenly saw Xu Huo, whose throat had been slit, his throat healing over again. His eyeballs moved, and he stood up.
Hugo on the opposite side sneered coldly. He took out the tuning fork and struck it heavily. All illusory products in the corridor vanished, but only Xu Huo standing there did not disappear.
"Not an illusion." Having determined this, Hugo swiftly attacked, his palm thrusting horizontally to pierce Xu Huo's chest, reaching for his heart.
"Do you think everything you're experiencing is real?" The "Xu Huo" who should have been killed suddenly grabbed his arm like a corpse coming back to life, looking at him with a sinister grin.
Hugo's brow furrowed slightly. He directly yanked out his heart while retreating to the side—Serin was attacking from behind.
"Place of Confession!" Serin simply and brutally slamd the missionary book in his hand onto the ground. Hugo, who was about to retreat, was imdiately surrounded by a glass cage that suddenly grew from beneath his feet. He instantly leaped upward, but light and water poured down from above.
Although he used a defensive item the mont it happened, the exit above was sealed. At the sa ti, a continuous stream of liquid poured down. The corrosive fluid not only damaged his item but also lted away his Protective Suit.
Hugo slashed at the glass door with his scalpel, causing cracks to appear in the item cage. A fleeting look of pained loss crossed Serin's face. He imdiately declared, "Confession and Punishnt!"
This was likely Serin's characteristic. After he spoke, Hugo uncontrollably lifted his head, opened his eyes wide, and bathed in the intense light shining down from above, letting out a pained groan.
However, at the sa ti, the glass cage shattered. The mont the book returned to Serin's hand, he dodged the fragnts Hugo controlled to shoot toward him and flung out several more nails, shouting, "His eyes are blinded!"
This was a warning to the other two, but it also enraged Hugo. Placing a hand on the ground, dense pathogens spread out like ink, rapidly engulfing the entire corridor and also corroding the excrescences that had regrown.
In the current situation, none of the three in the corridor could look out for the others. They could only flee in different directions.
Xu Huo caught up to Serin. "Use your water again! Splash it!"
"With this much, how could my little bit of water be enough?!" Serin was not slow. He quickly glanced at the fork in the road ahead. "We each take a different path!"
Xu Huo naturally had no objections. After turning into the opposite corridor, he opened a door in the wall and returned to where Hugo was. Opening the portal Bai Kou had left on the wall, he slashed at Hugo's back with his sword and then ran.
Although the pathogens were formidable, they seed unable to affect Bai Kou's tal. Additionally, the tal couldn't be pulverized, which just happened to counter two of Hugo's particularly potent thods. Therefore, the walls wrapped in tal were preserved, giving Xu Huo an opportunity to strike.
