Zhu Yu imdiately understood Yan Daoxin’s little tricks, which was completely within Lu Qing’s expectations. He nodded calmly and said, "There are people who are tight-lipped and those who aren’t.
For those who are tight-lipped, there’s no need to say much; they will keep secrets, not letting anything slip.
Conversely, when you encounter soone who’s not tight-lipped, the more you tell them not to spill the beans, the more they can’t keep the secret."
Zhu Yu nodded knowingly, realizing that in the inns and restaurants, the assistants rarely have mouths like clam shells; rather, they are talkative characters.
Yan Daoxin probably noticed this and thus targeted such an assistant to set up the situation.
The next day, during their dull and bland breakfast, there suddenly appeared a small dish of pickled vegetables on the table.
"Divine Doctor, my mother pickled this herself. I’m not sure how much it costs, but it’s hard to find outside. At least a bit more flavor makes the al better!" The assistant said with a face full of smiles, diligently speaking to Yan Daoxin.
Yan Daoxin glanced up at him, noticing that he looked particularly refreshed today, with the shadows under his eyes seeming a bit lighter. He nodded and said confidently yet casually, "It seems you took the dicine yesterday."
The assistant felt that Yan Daoxin, with just one glance, knew he had taken the dicine. Instantly, he admired him even more, nodding repeatedly in awe, "The Divine Doctor’s dicine is truly effective!
Last night I went ho and took the dicine as instructed by the Divine Doctor. As a result, all night, my heart didn’t race, and I slept exceptionally well. I can’t rember when I last slept so soundly.
Before, I had nightmares every night, unable to sleep well at all. It was extrely uncomfortable, but last night, I didn’t have any dreams, let alone nightmares. I slept until morning.
When my mother woke up, she thought I had passed out, saying she hadn’t seen sleep so deeply for a long ti.
Not only that, when I woke up this morning, my mind felt clear, and my whole body was energetic. My heart, which usually felt restless, didn’t feel that way today!
It was just one dose of dicine! Divine Doctor, you’re truly amazing!"
Yan Daoxin gestured for him to be quiet, "Don’t make a fuss. Just rember to take the dicine as I instructed, without any interruption, or it won’t be cured completely. If you seek later, it will be useless."
The assistant nodded repeatedly and hurriedly went to do other tasks without saying more.
The pickled vegetables he brought, though not considered delicious, added so flavor to the otherwise plain breakfast, which the five of them ate without hesitation.
After eating, they went out for a stroll, appearing aimless, but in reality, they discreetly familiarized themselves with every corner of the capital.
In this capital, there were basically only two areas they couldn’t approach: one was the Fanwang Mansion, where the guards patrolled two streets away, not allowing anyone to approach as the security was extrely strict.
The other seed inexplicable; it was rely an inconspicuous alleyway, yet as soon as they walked a few steps in, Lu Qing keenly sensed soone secretly monitoring their every move, and the deeper they went, the more the watchers seed ready to reveal themselves.
So he slapped his forehead, muttering that he had taken the wrong path, and pulled Zhu Yu out with him.
Thus, two or three days passed, and the assistant ate well and slept soundly daily. Coupled with being in his twenties, he was in pri physical condition, and his overall state and complexion visibly improved.
This made him admire and worship Yan Daoxin even more, greeting him respectfully every day.
Finally, the shopkeeper noticed sothing unusual and called the assistant to his counter after Yan Daoxin and the others had gone out.
"Those guests, what’s their origin? Why are you so respectful to them?" He asked the assistant.
The assistant glanced around mysteriously, and the shopkeeper, unable to wait for his reply, slapped him on the back of his head, "I’m asking you a question! It’s just us two here, why are you skulking around!"
"Ow, shopkeeper, be gentle! My head has just been treated a bit. If you slap again, I’ll revert to my old state!" The assistant protested, rubbing his head and lowering his voice.
The shopkeeper found this even stranger, "Why are you acting like a thief? It’s just us two here. Speaking a bit louder won’t kill you! Did you hear my question?"
"I heard, I heard! I’m not deaf!" The assistant grumbled as he rubbed his head, "It’s just that the Divine Doctor told not to speak!"
After blurting it out, the assistant realized that ntioning the "Divine Doctor" might already be a slip-up, so he quickly pressed his lips together, awkwardly looking at the shopkeeper.
"What do you an? Who are those people... What do they do?" The shopkeeper heard this, grabbed the assistant, "Are they doctors? Do they treat illnesses?"
The assistant knew that his words had effectively broken his promise to Yan Daoxin. But on second thought, he realized that he had already received the dicine, and since Yan Daoxin had said that if the dicine wasn’t taken properly, he wouldn’t care further.
However, he still needed to make a living here, offending the shopkeeper was never a good idea.
So he gestured mysteriously to the shopkeeper, then leaned in close to the shopkeeper, whispering about how Yan Daoxin had imdiately seen his condition.
The shopkeeper’s expression grew increasingly restricted with joy as he listened to the assistant’s recounting. He pretended to be serious and repeatedly assured the assistant that he would not share it.
The inn had little business, and after Yan Daoxin and the others left, it beca quiet with few others staying.
The shopkeeper feigned busyness for a while, found an excuse to leave the assistant behind to guard the shop, then hurriedly left.
After a good while, the shopkeeper returned. Upon returning, he continually looked outside as if waiting for sothing.
Yan Daoxin and the others returned late in the evening from outside, and as soon as they entered, the shopkeeper greeted them enthusiastically and loudly, "Guests, you’re back? It’s hot outside, have so tea before going upstairs, or shall I have soone bring it up to you?"
Yan Daoxin thought for a mont, just about to respond to the shopkeeper when suddenly an old man stumbled in from outside, imdiately kneeling before Yan Daoxin, blocking his path.
