Pokémon Adventures: GAMER PATH Chapter 101 101: Full Power Tournament! (3)

~Third POV~

[Alola Region, lele Island, Iki Town]

The final match was set between Azure and Ilima. Both walked to the battlefield, each carrying an aura of confidence in their battling skills.

The class from Pokémon School, consisting of Kiawe, Lana, Mallow, and Sophocles, watched to see the battle between the two. Lana sighed in a disappointed tone, "Sigh… I can't believe I lost in the first rounds…"

Mallow, being Lana's friend, patted her on the shoulder as she said happily, "Eh, no worries, Lana! They'll be next year for us. Besides, I got destroyed by Azure and his Pokémon. I an, who teaches their Pokémon to fight and use Flathrower!"

Mallow was pouting, feeling a bit salty about the match. Kiawe crossed his arms as he stated bluntly, "It's because he was the Kanto and Johto Champion. Even with weaker Pokémon to match us, his skill as a trainer shows."

Mallow pouted as Sophocles' eyes shone as he said happily, rooting for Azure, "Yeah! It was also thanks to him that these Rotom Phones are a big hit! I'm just lucky I get to share my ideas with a fellow great mind for inventions!"

Revealing the Rotom Phone he owns, Lana also added, chuckling lightly, "Yeah. I heard rumors that he and a couple of other Trainers saved the Kanto Region from the threat of the Elite Four. Even Prof. Oak gave him the title of 'Move Tutor'. And one doesn't get a title from him without doing a great achievent or skill."

The group nodded their heads, agreeing as Kiawe looked at their match with envy as he said in a blunt tone, "Sounds like Ilima gets the honor of facing him in battle. If only I weren't too quick or hot-headed in my match, it would've been …"

The group sighed at Kiawe's envy. They all felt the sa, as it was a chance for them to be Captains, obtaining a Z-Ring by 11 years old or obtain one through the Full Power Tournant, where anyone could obtain one.

For now, though, they settled their thoughts as they looked at the two. They watched and cheered for their classmates.

Both managed to et each other on the battlefield. But they didn't discuss as they had prepared their Pokémon, holding their Poke Balls.

Ilima, calm and collected as ever, faced Azure across the battlefield. He released his first Pokémon: a Sargle.

*Pop*

Azure chose Squirtle once again. He'd learned from his previous battle, and Squirtle was in top condition.

Azure was curious to see how one would choose a Sargle as he allowed Ilima the first move. Ilima commanded, "Sargle, use Sketch to copy Rapid Spin!"

*Shiii*

Sargle watched Squirtle intently, its tail glowing as it absorbed the move. Azure watched interested as he thought curiously, 'Oh? So that's how the move Sketch works, huh? It can choose what move or does the condition need sight to activate it? I should ask Ilima later for now the battle.'

Returning to the battle, Ilima shouted, "Now, Sargle, use Rapid Spin!"

*Swoosh*

Sargle tucked itself into a ball and began to spin rapidly, mimicking Squirtle's attack. Azure was taken aback but countered as he yelled, "Squirtle, use Water Gun at the stage, be careful!"

*Splash*

Squirtle unleashed a jet of water at the battlefield, which created puddles of water. Azure followed up, "Squirtle, use Rapid Spin!"

*Swooosh*

*SMACK*

The two Pokémon collided in a whirlwind of spinning shells while at the sa ti increasing their speed by 1 stage. Ilima had anticipated this and had Sargle wait in the puddle.

Ilima commanded quickly, "Sargle, use Mud Sport!"

*SPLAT*

Sargle unleashed a stream of mud, which coated Squirtle and slowed its Rapid Spin. Azure called, "Squirtle, get out of the puddle and use Water Gun!"

*SPLASH*

Squirtle, now covered in mud, struggles to escape the puddle and unleashes a jet of water at Sargle. Sargle was knocked back, but it quickly regained its footing.

Ilima countered swiftly, "Sargle, use Thunderbolt!"

*Zzzz*

Electricity crackled around Sargle as it unleashed a bolt of lightning towards Squirtle. He countered quickly, "Squirtle, Ice Beam on the ground and move using Rapid Spin!"

*PEW*

Shooting a beam of ice on the ground, as the water was coated before it froze. And using Rapid Spin to move to the side, it narrowly avoided the Thunderbolt by a few inches, but Squirtle was visibly shaken.

Azure knew he had to change his strategy. Ilima had anticipated his every move.

*Bdmp*

But he felt his heartbeat faster. He felt excited again as he smiled, causing Ilima to frown as he thought, 'What is he thinking to make him smile like this. He does realize he'll lose against if he – '

But Ilima didn't get the chance to finish his thoughts. Azure lifted Squirtle's Poke Ball as he recalled it, causing Ilima to furrow his brows, "Squirtle, return!"

Recalling Squirtle, he took his next Pokémon. He took a deep breath and released his final Pokémon, hurling it into the air…

*Pop*

The Poke Ball opens to materialize Bulbasaur, who makes a battle cry, "Bulba! Bulbasaur! (BRING IT ON!!)"

Ilima smirked slightly. He knew Bulbasaur was at a disadvantage against Sargle with its move pool, as he thought, 'Switching for the Grass/Poison type Bulbasaur huh? Good, but not with my Pokémon having Fire-type moves would be ideal.'

Ilima commanded, "Sargle, use Flathrower!"

Azure countered as he grinned, "Bulbasaur, Agile Style! Vine Whip, grab Sargle!"

*Whip*

Bulbasaur launched its vines, wrapping them around Sargle before it could unleash its Thunderbolt. Azure shouted, "Now, Bulbasaur, use Sleep Powder!"

*POOF*

Bulbasaur released a cloud of Sleep Powder, which engulfed Sargle. The Pokémon quickly succumbed to the sleep-inducing spores, collapsing onto the ground.

Ilima's eyes flashed with warning as he thought, startled at seeing Bulbasaur's attack speed, 'Nani! How did his Bulbasaur Vine Whip outspeed my Sargle! I should've had the speed advantage so – '

Having lifted Sargle into the air using its vines, Azure commanded, "Now! Strong Style! Grass Pledge!"

*Woooosh*

Bulbasaur sends a pillar of leaves in the form of a tornado onto the sleeping Sargle. The attack base power is 80, increased to 100 thanks to Strong Style, along with Miracle Seed boosting its Grass-type moves by 20%.

*THUD*

Sargle fell hard from the attack. Its eyes indicated swirls, aning it fainted as Ilima bit its lips, seeing this.

Taking a deep breath, Ilima recalled Sargle, his expression remaining calm. He then said in a serious tone, "Impressive, Azure. But I won't go down that easily. Go, Eevee!"

*Pop*

A familiar cry echoed across the arena as Ilima's Eevee, different from his own, bounded onto the field. Azure steeled himself.

Ilima's Eevee was powerful, having reached Lv.20. Ilima commanded, "Eevee, use Quick Attack!"

*Zooom*

Ilima's Eevee darted towards Bulbasaur with incredible speed. Azure yelled, "Bulbasaur, Vine Whip, intercept it!"

*Whip*

Bulbasaur launched its vines, hoping to stop Eevee's montum. But Eevee was too fast. It dodged the vines and slamd into Bulbasaur, knocking it off balance.

*SMASH*

Ilima grinned as he shouted, "Eevee, use Swift!"

*Swooosh*

A barrage of star-shaped projectiles rained down on Bulbasaur. Azure countered, "Bulbasaur, use Grass Pledge!"

*Wooosh*

Bulbasaur unleashed a storm of razor-sharp leaves, intercepting the Swift stars, creating a wall of leaves in the shape of a tornado. But many still hit their mark, dealing significant damage.

Both Pokémon were battered and bruised. Azure knew this was his chance. Azure commanded, "Bulbasaur, use Sleep Powder again!"

*Poof*

Bulbasaur released another cloud of Sleep Powder, hoping to catch Eevee off guard. Ilima countered calmly, "Eevee, use Dig!"

*Rmbl*

Ilima's Eevee quickly burrowed underground, avoiding the Sleep Powder. Azure's eyes widened in realization.

He knew what Ilima was planning. His eyes narrowed as he commanded, "Bulbasaur, use Vine Whip to lift yourself off the ground using the nearby tree branches!"

*Whip*

Using its vines, Bulbasaur began to swing like Spider-Man as Eevee erged from the earth right underneath Bulbasaur. Ilima frowned, seeing that the surprise attack had failed as Azure lightly smiled.

Using Bulbasaur's natural abilities of using its vines to swing by the nearby trees to avoid Dig was a part of Azure's plans. And now with Eevee erged from the ground, he ordered swiftly, "Now! Strong Style! Razor Leaf!"

Ilima's expression shifted drastically. Bulbasaur grinned as it cried out, "Bulba! Bulbasaur! (I got eyes on the target!)"

Ilima raised his voice, shouting with determination, his eyes burning. He ordered, "Use! Protect – "

*BANG*

Shooting only a single leaf Eevee was headshot by Bulbasaur's Mach Speed Leaf Attack. It grinned happily and cried out, "Bulba. Bulbasaur. (Captain. We got'em! But just to be sure… double tap.)'

*BANG*

*BANG*

Shooting two more for extra asure, Eevee recoiled in pain, being struck twice. Ilima looked in disbelief as Eevee was gunned down by Bulbasaur, coming back down from the trees, standing by Azure's side.

Ilima took in a deep breath and exhaled, recalling Eevee. The crowd gasped. Azure walked over to Ilima, extending a hand as he said, "A good battle, Ilima. You're a strong trainer."

Ilima took his hand, managing a weak smile. He said calmly with hands trembling, "You too, Azure. You deserved to win."

Elder Hala stepped forward. He then announced in a proud tone, "Azure, congratulations! You are the winner of the Full Power Tournant!"

The crowd erupted in applause. Victory was his. Azure had won the Full Power Tournant. The crowd roared with applause, their cheers echoing through the arena.

Hala, the island kahuna, approached Azure with a warm smile. He said, presenting him with the Island Challenge Certificate, "You have proven yourself worthy, Azure. You have shown us your strength and respect for Pokémon and the Alolan way of life. I look forward to seeing what you accomplish on your Island Challenge."

Azure bowed his head respectfully, accepting the certificate with gratitude. He had achieved his first goal in Alola, obtaining the Island Challenge Certificate.

He turned to Hala as he said, bowing his head, "Thank you, Elder Hala."

[Alola Region, Later, lele Island, Hau'oli City]

As the sun set over the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and purple, Azure stood on the beach, having returned to Hau'oli City, Pikachu and Eevee by his side. He held the Island Challenge Certificate in his hand, a symbol of his hard work and dedication.

He would now embark on the Island Challenge, learning more about Alola, growing stronger as a trainer, and eventually, hopefully, earning a Z-Ring. He looked out at the vast ocean, his heart filled with determination and excitent.

His journey in Alola had just begun. And the quest for the Z-Ring and Z-Crystals was now open for him to track down.

Looking at the new horizon while at the beach, a certain Pokémon was observing intently at Azure with genuine interest. It senses the power of nature within Azure, having not t such a human before, mistaking the power of nature of Azure's Viridian Force.
