Among all offensive types, Electric was one of the most powerful.

Not only did Electric-type Pokémon possess extrely high attack speed and explosive burst damage, but the type also had a very wide offensive coverage.

Out of the 18 known types, only Ground-type was completely immune to Electric attacks.

anwhile: Electric, Grass and Dragon

…resisted Electric damage, taking only 0.5× damage.

The remaining 14 types all took at least normal damage.

Although Electric only had two types it was super effective against—Water and Flying, the sheer burst potential of Electric-type attacks more than made up for it.

At equal levels, very few Pokémon could stand their ground and survive three Thunderbolts from Pikachu.

As for lower-level Pokémon—

Pikachu could often one-shot them with a single Thunderbolt.

That was the terrifying strength of Pikachu.

And the overwhelming power of Electric-type Pokémon.

Ash's long-term plan for Pikachu focused on two core attributes:

Special Attack

Speed

Pikachu could only learn a limited number of strong off-type attacking moves.

So Ash had decided that Pikachu would fully commit to the Electric path.

Its strategy would revolve around:

Devastating Electric-type attacksSupplentary off-type moves used for coverage and counterplay

For example:

Iron Tail expanded Pikachu's offensive coverage.

Light Screen and Reflect enhanced Pikachu's defensive survivability.

And now—

Rain Dance and Surf allowed Pikachu to counter Ground-type Pokémon, which were otherwise immune to Electric attacks.

At present, the only missing pieces in Pikachu's move frawork were two important techniques:

Electroweb — a powerful crowd-control move

Parabolic Charge — a draining attack with 65 base power that healed Pikachu for 50% of the damage dealt

Electroweb was a move normally learned by certain Pokémon such as:

Joltik

Galvantula

from the Unova region, as well as the legendary Pokémon Regieleki from Galar.

Pikachu could learn the move through a TM, or Ash could help it acquire the move through the system.

Unfortunately, despite running his move-teaching shop for quite so ti, Ash hadn't yet encountered any custor whose Pokémon knew Electroweb.

However—

For Parabolic Charge, Ash already had a solution.

And it didn't require traveling all the way to Kalos.

That solution was Green's Dedenne.

At LV.25, Dedenne had a high probability of naturally learning Parabolic Charge.

However, Green's Dedenne hadn't even reached LV.15 yet.

So it would still take so ti before it could learn the move.

But Parabolic Charge was extrely valuable.

With respectable base damage and strong HP-draining capabilities—similar to Giga Drain—it functioned as both an offensive and recovery move.

In Ash's plans, it was one of the core moves in Pikachu's skill frawork.

And for core moves, the sooner Pikachu learned them, the better.

Early acquisition ant:

Faster proficiency grinding

More opportunities to build battle tactics around the move

Therefore, Ash had already prepared an alternative plan.

He didn't need to wait for Green's Dedenne to reach LV.25.

And he didn't need to travel to Kalos either.

He could simply ask a friend in Kalos to send over a Pokémon that knew Parabolic Charge.

After all—

His girlfriend Serena was from Kalos.

And in that distant region, he also had several close friends:

Tierno

Trevor

Shauna

In addition, he had made many acquaintances during Professor Oak's Pokémon Sumr Camp.

If he posted a request in the camp group chat, it would be extrely easy for soone to find a Pokémon like:

Dedenne

Helioptile

Heliolisk

that already knew Parabolic Charge.

After arranging Pikachu's training, Ash turned his attention to the rest of his team.

Frogadier continued learning off-type moves.

Pidgeotto focused on increasing proficiency with Hurricane and Hyper Beam.

Fearow practiced mastering the new moves it had learned during evolution:

Brave Bird

Drill Run

Roost

Once the four first-tier ace Pokémon had begun their training, Ash shifted his attention to the two Pokémon swimming quietly in the shallow river water.

Magikarp and Feebas.

"Valor, Lumina."

"You've already completely mastered Aqua Ring."

"Since your future developnt paths are different, I'll now begin specialized training for each of you."

Ash looked down at them.

"Before evolving into your final forms, neither of you can move around freely on land."

"And to avoid drawing unnecessary attention to the powerful moves you're learning, you won't be competing at the City Arena for now."

"At this stage, your main focus will be building your core stats and establishing your move fraworks."

"For your move fraworks, you only need to master the key core moves."

"As for other ordinary moves, many of them will naturally be learned once you evolve."

Ash turned toward Magikarp first.

"Valor."

"The moves I'll teach you today are Aqua Tail, a mid-range Water-type attack…"

"…and Dragon Dance, which increases your Attack and Speed."

Then he turned to Feebas.

"Lumina."

"I'll help you learn Safeguard, which protects against status conditions…"

"…and Recover, which instantly restores half your HP."

"Blub-blub!"

"Glub!"

Both Pokémon happily accepted the training plan.

They were filled with hopes and dreams for the future.

But they also understood that their Trainer saw things far more clearly than they did.

So they never questioned Ash's decisions.

Whatever he told them to learn—

They learned.

However he instructed them to train—

They followed.

Their rapidly increasing strength had already pushed their trust in Ash to the level of almost blind admiration.

The system notifications appeared imdiately.

[Ding! Skill Disc successfully used. Magikarp learned the move "Aqua Tail."]

[Ding! Skill Disc successfully used. Magikarp learned the move "Dragon Dance."]

[Ding! Skill Disc successfully used. Feebas learned the move "Safeguard."]

[Ding! Skill Disc successfully used. Feebas learned the move "Recover."]

The foundations of Ash's team—

Were growing stronger with every passing day.
