Now reading: Chapter 417: A Perfect System Begins to Run! from Pokémon: Ascension Trainer System, a Action novel by PokePals.

Even though there were many trainers willing to pay high prices to learn moves from his skill shop, when placed across the entire Kanto region—and the broader trainer community—they were still just a minority.

There were far more people who had never been his custors.

But the clinic was different.

It was free.

A true public service.

No cost, no barrier—just treatnt.

So naturally, he would never lack patients.

More importantly, the two systems operated on completely different scales.

Skill learning required ti—each batch took three to five days, and even then, he could only handle around twenty to thirty Pokémon per week.

But healing?

That was instant.

With his abilities, treating hundreds of Pokémon in a single day wasn't a problem at all.

Which ant—

A steady stream of experience for his Viridian Power.

A continuous supply of new moves for his shop.

And on top of that—

Growing fa and reputation through charity work.

Three gains from one system.

And there was even a hidden fourth benefit.

Ash's personal brand.

His na itself—

Was becoming more valuable by the day.

Of course, he didn't have ti to capitalize on it yet.

Right now, his priorities were clear: strengthening himself, training his Pokémon, and improving his abilities.

But in the future…

Once he had more ti—

He planned to establish his own entertainnt company.

To truly monetize the value of "Ash."

And when Serena eventually ca to Kanto to travel with him—

Since Kanto didn't have Perforr showcases—

Only Coordinator Contests—

He could support her dream through that company as well.

Everything—

From the present to the future—

Was already carefully mapped out in his mind.

But no plan could be rushed.

Every achievent required steady steps.

Right now—

His only task—

Was to make the clinic run smoothly.

"Ash, the trainer reported that this Raticate has been experiencing tooth pain. According to the preliminary diagnosis from the Celadon City Pokémon Center, it's likely apical periodontitis."

Clarissa spoke calmly from beside him.

"Got it."

Ash nodded, gently patting the Raticate's head.

"Raticate, open your mouth. I'll take a look first, then I'll treat you."

"Raa-ta…"

The Pokémon clutched its swollen cheek but obediently opened its mouth.

Ash used a small examination light to inspect the area.

"Confird—apical inflammation."

No hesitation.

No wasted motion.

"Healing Grace."

He placed both hands gently against the Raticate's cheeks.

The mont he activated his Viridian Power—

A soft green glow flowed inward, penetrating deep into the gums and tooth roots.

The infected bacteria were swiftly eliminated.

Pus was expelled through tiny openings created with pinpoint control.

Within monts—

The inflammation was gone.

The wound healed.

Ash handed it a cup of water.

"Rinse your mouth."

A few seconds later—

The treatnt was complete.

"How do you feel now? Still hurts?"

"Raa-ta!"

The Raticate shook its head energetically.

Its paws dropped from its cheeks, and its eyes were bright again—full of life.

"Good. Then I'll send you back to your trainer."

Ash smiled, gently patting its head.

As he recalled it into the Poké Ball, he could feel a subtle surge within himself—

His Viridian Power had grown, even if just slightly.

Satisfied, he handed the Poké Ball to Clarissa.

"Also, it has so tooth decay. Add a note for the trainer—tell them to take better care of its dental hygiene."

"Understood."

Clarissa placed the Poké Ball onto the transfer machine while typing up the dical report.

Monts later—

A number appeared at the center of the clinic interface:

1

The first successful treatnt.

It felt oddly similar to tracking real-ti sales data during a major online shopping event.

"Next patient."

The second Poké Ball had already arrived.

With a flash—

A gray-skinned, muscular humanoid Pokémon appeared on the table.

A Machoke.

"System, scan it."

[Pokémon: Machoke]

Level: 31

Type: Fighting

Nature: Hardy

Ability: Guts

Potential: Red

Moves (Copyable):

Proficient (1/1000):

Seismic Toss, Strength, Dual Chop, Bulk Up

Skilled (1/500):

Low Kick, Focus Energy, Revenge, Low Sweep, Knock Off

Novice (1/100):

Leer, Scary Face

Ash observed the data briefly.

Compared to the Raticate, this Machoke had higher potential and level—

But a slightly simpler move pool.

Which made sense.

Fighting-types didn't rely on variety.

They relied on raw physical strength.

Still—

Moves like Strength and Bulk Up were highly valuable.

Many trainers had co specifically to learn them.

"System—copy its moves."

The progress bar flashed.

Instantly complete.

Another batch of valuable skills—

Secured.

And with that—

The second patient's treatnt—

Was about to begin.

The system was working.

The rhythm was forming.

Ash's clinic—

Had truly begun to operate.
