Now reading: Chapter 10 10: Pokémon: Breeding Simulator [10] from Pokémon: Breeding Simulator, a Action novel by WiseTL.

[In the end, Kirlia didn't do anything too extre. After receiving your reassurance, she simply held onto you and fell asleep.]

[You had a vague feeling that Kirlia was acting a bit unusual today, but you couldn't quite put your finger on why. Unable to co up with an answer, you decided to give her even more attention in the future.]

---

[Age: 12: You had made a na for yourself in the Special Investigation Unit, often teaming up with Lance to take down major criminal organizations. Your reputation in Kanto grew rapidly.]

["The Twin Stars of the League"—a title given to you both by colleagues and the public alike. Everything seed to be going well.]

[However, lately, you couldn't shake the feeling of unease, as if sothing major was about to happen. No matter how much you tried to dismiss it as paranoia, the feeling wouldn't fade.]

"Fear cos from a lack of firepower!"

"Elias, your problem is simple—you don't have enough Pokémon. Counting that Kirlia you treat like a wife, you only have two Pokémon."

"That's why you keep feeling uneasy."

Lance clapped Elias on the shoulder, confidently presenting his "lack-of-firepower theory."

"Is that so…" Elias's mouth twitched. Sohow, Lance's reasoning felt… unreliable.

But he did bring up one point worth considering.

Could it be that sothing's wrong with Kirlia?

Elias lowered his gaze to the little Pokémon in his arms, who was pretending not to have heard anything.

After years of sharing psychic energy, his bond with Kirlia had grown unimaginably deep—so much so that they could sotis communicate without even using their powers.

If sothing were wrong with Kirlia, it would explain why he felt off.

With that in mind, he gently rubbed her soft little hand and asked,

"Kirlia, have you been feeling unwell lately?"

"Kirlu?"

Hearing his question, Kirlia tilted her head in thought for a few seconds before obediently shaking her head.

Seeing that, Elias finally breathed a sigh of relief.

As long as Kirlia was fine, nothing else mattered.

---

[After questioning Kirlia that day, you felt at ease for a while. Unfortunately, the peace didn't last long. Before you knew it, that indescribable sense of unease returned.]

[As ti passed, the feeling only intensified.]

[Then, during what should have been an ordinary training session, you finally learned the reason for your restlessness.]

[Your instincts had been right all along—without any warning, Kirlia suddenly collapsed on the battlefield.]

"Kirlu…"

In the haze of unconsciousness, the last thing Kirlia saw was Elias running toward her.

...

Beep—beep—beep—

The rhythmic beeping of dical equipnt filled the room.

When Kirlia slowly regained consciousness, she found herself staring at a stark white ceiling.

Turning her head slightly, she noticed an IV needle in her hand and various colorful monitors attached to her body.

Recalling the mont she had suddenly fainted during training, she didn't need a doctor to tell her that sothing was wrong.

But… that wasn't what she was most concerned about right now.

She needed to know—

Where is Elias?

Her eyes quickly scanned the room, searching for his familiar figure.

When she didn't see him, an unexplainable panic welled up in her chest.

"Kirlu?"

Just as she was about to rip off the wires and run out to find him, a familiar voice drifted in from the next room.

"Miss Joy… is there really no way to treat Kirlia?"

Elias's voice was filled with desperation.

In truth, ever since he had rushed Kirlia to the Pokémon Center, he had asked this sa question three tis already.

He simply couldn't accept the diagnosis he had been given.

But… no miracle had occurred.

Nurse Joy sighed and gently explained,

"Elias, I understand how you feel, but the test results are accurate. Your Kirlia was born with an inherent weakness."

"Unfortunately, with the current level of human technology, there's no known way to cure congenital conditions. If there were, we would never give up on a Pokémon in need."

Though her tone was professional, even she couldn't hide the regret in her voice.

As a nurse, she had seen countless Pokémon, but this was the first ti she had ever encountered a shiny Kirlia.

Knowing that such a rare and beautiful Pokémon's life would be cut short was truly heartbreaking.

However…

Perhaps sensing how much Kirlia ant to Elias, she hesitated before adding,

"But I have heard that so Legendary Pokémon possess the ability to extend life. If you truly want to save Kirlia, you might consider seeking them out."

This wasn't baseless speculation—Joy had co across records of such Pokémon in her family's ancient texts.

Normally, she wouldn't ntion such things to avoid leading people astray.

But Elias wasn't just anyone.

He was one of the League's rising stars, a promising investigator with a bright future.

She trusted that he wouldn't recklessly cross any lines.

And besides—

Legendary Pokémon were called legendary for a reason.

They were rarely seen, let alone captured.

So in her mind, Elias had no real chance of finding one.

However…

To her surprise, the mont she made the suggestion, Elias imdiately began going through a ntal list of which Legendary Pokémon had healing abilities.

And, at the sa ti—

He had already formulated a plan for how to bypass the League's restrictions and catch one.

...

Back in the hospital room, Elias gently stroked Kirlia's head.

Her eyes were tightly shut, as if she were still asleep.

But he knew—

She had heard everything.

She just didn't want him to know.

She didn't want him to worry.

She didn't want to burden him with the pressure of tracking down a Legendary Pokémon.

Because even she understood—

Chasing after such a being was dangerous.

A good Pokémon wouldn't make their trainer suffer for their sake.

So even if Elias chose to give up on her, she wouldn't bla him.

She had already made peace with it.

Just as she convinced herself of this—

A sudden warmth brushed against her ear.

A wave of heat followed, accompanied by a soft breath.

Kirlia's entire body froze.

Her mind went blank.

And then, she heard Elias's low, steady voice.

"I will find a way to heal you. I promise."

Clearly—

He hadn't forgotten the vow he had made two years ago.
