Sumr 1 – Early Morning

After sharing the first sumr breeze with Willy, Ron collected Shrimp and Crabs from his crab pots and returned to the farm with Froakie.

He settled Miltank into the Nursery, then checked the Pokémon Shane had caught for him—the one that hatched while he was away.

On the table sat a Poké Ball. Ron hesitated, then pressed its button.

A stout Pokémon appeared before him.

He scanned it with his Pokédex:

[Indeedee]

Always stays by its Trainer's side. Uses psychic powers to anticipate their actions and cares for their daily needs.

Before Ron could speak, the Indeedee dashed outside.

Peering out, Ron saw it already tilling the fields.

After a stunned pause, he hurried after it. "Thank you, but this farm—"

As long as it breathes…

—doesn't need you to work yourself to death.

The Indeedee halted—as if it had already heard Ron's unspoken words.

It bowed deeply, radiating an air of "I'm in your care now."

"Froakie?" Froakie chirped from Ron's shoulder.

Indeedee bowed to it too.

Froakie puffed up proudly, then solemnly patted Indeedee's shoulder like a seasoned boss.

"…Alright, rest for now," Ron said, glancing toward the cabin.

Today would be hectic. Rattata were already asleep—but at the farm's noise, they'd stumbled out, lining the doorway with drowsy eyes.

"Ratta…"

The mont Ron stood, Indeedee floated each Rattata onto the bed with Psychic—just as they always slept. Froakie was gently placed on the pillow.

"And you?" Ron asked.

Indeedee scanned the room, then climbed onto the farm's original small bed.

It lay down precisely, pulled the blanket up neatly, gave Ron a soft "Indeedee~", and turned to sleep.

"…Goodnight."

"Indee~" Indeedee murmured, eyes closed.

---

Ron woke to hot wind and distant cicadas—Sumr had truly arrived.

He took a steadying breath—then froze.

Indeedee was already heating breakfast over the stove, using Psychic to place Gus's pre-made als on the burner.

Too thoughtful.

Ron entrusted the kitchen and hungry Pokémon to Indeedee, then released Orthworm outside.

Thanks to Pam and Shane's help clearing strawberry vines, the fields weren't overly cluttered. Orthworm alone could handle tilling.

After giving brief instructions, Ron watched Orthworm burrow underground. He headed to the furnace, collected the tal bars Pam had slted, and began crafting Quality Sprinklers.

Just as he neared completion, he looked up—

—and saw Indeedee at the cabin door, directing Rattata to lead Geodude to the Mines like a taskmaster captain.

Even Gengar was assigned to haul withered crop stalks.

Ron's hands stilled, watching his Pokémon form an efficient assembly line under Indeedee's command.

He'd hoped the mystery egg would hatch into a farmhand…

But this was too perfect.

While Ron stared, every Pokémon dispersed to their duties. Indeedee took the sprinklers Ron had made and marched to the fields, planting them exactly where Orthworm had tilled.

Ron nearly jumped.

It's reading my mind.

His plan: Hops in clusters of eight, with one sprinkler per cluster, leaving narrow paths between for harvesting.

Indeedee arranged them identically.

Watching Indeedee work autonomously, Ron wondered:

Is a self-motivated helper a blessing… or a curse… in a farm that never runs out of chores?

At 9 AM, Pam and Shane arrived.

Quick greetings exchanged, Ron outlined their tasks:

– Clean coop/Nursery

– Plant seeds he'd prepared

– Let Pokémon handle watering

Ron himself would buy Hops seeds from Pierre, then build trellises and plant them.

Pam's head spun at the workload—but her 500G wage kept her nodding.

After Ron left, she turned to Shane. "You rember our tasks?"

Shane pointed to the Nursery. "You clean that. I'll do the coop. If you can't handle the Pokémon inside, leave them to . Then you plant crops."

He kept it curt. Though both were saloon regulars, they weren't close. He ducked into the coop.

Today marked Day 4 for the chickens—they'd matured, laying three eggs.

Ron hadn't specified what to do with them, so Shane gathered the eggs, fed the chickens, and cleaned.

anwhile, Ron arrived at Pierre's just as the shop opened.

Inside, Pierre sorted Sumr seeds, awaiting farrs.

Seasonal seed shopping was inevitable—even without foresight, he knew growers would flood his store at season's start.

After losing money on Poké Balls, he was eager to recoup losses with seed sales.
