Charizard felt the sincerity of his trainer, and a mysterious energy violently burst forth from the ga Stone, completely enveloping him.
Charizard possessed two forms of ga Evolution, determined by the type of ga Stone used, each with its own advantages.
The simplest difference between the two was color:
ga Charizard X, with a black body and blue flas.
ga Charizard Y, with a color similar to the original, though slightly darker.
Cain watched with anticipation, as did Cynthia and the others.
Lance closed his eyes, concentrating completely on Charizard’s feelings.
During a first ga Evolution, it was ideal to proceed slowly, in order to better adapt and understand each other’s thoughts.
Not like Steven, who had been forced to use ga Evolution for the first ti right in the middle of battle, and moreover with a double ga Evolution. Surviving that had been pure luck.
Little by little, the multicolored light of ga Evolution dissipated, revealing the fully transford ga Charizard.
It was very similar to the original Charizard, though with major changes: a third, longer horn erged from its head, its neck and mouth had shortened, while its limbs, tail, and wings were longer.
It had small wings on its wrists, spikes on its tail and back, and enormous, irregular wings.
The fla on its tail burned with greater intensity. Its enlarged wings granted it flight capability superior even to that of a jet aircraft.
ga Charizard Y!
Cain recognized it imdiately. That stone was, without a doubt, the ga Charizard Y stone.
Inexplicably, Cain let out a sigh of relief.
In truth, he felt this form was more suitable for Lance.
Charizard remained a fire flying type, sothing Lance was thoroughly familiar with. Moreover, Charizard had always stood out more for its special attack, and ga Charizard Y greatly enhanced its special attack and special defense.
Without exaggeration, it was a mobile cannon in the sky.
If Cain had a Charizard, he would choose without hesitation...
ga Charizard X!
Not only because of how impressive it looked, but because it balanced physical and special attack, changed its type to fire dragon, and awakened its latent draconic bloodline.
Both forms were excellent; simply as a matter of personal preference, Cain would choose ga Charizard X.

After gaevolving, Lance’s Charizard officially reached the first threshold of the champion level, representing an enormous qualitative leap.
As for ga Charizard Y, Cain had clear expectations, especially because of the change in ability to Drought, which opened up a wide range of tactical possibilities...
And the Drought ability was the core of the sun team conceived by Cain, in the sa way that the Sand Stream ability is for a sandstorm team.
Under the effect of the Drought ability, if combined with five or six grass-type Pokémon capable of using the move Solar Beam, the scene would be so beautiful that Cain did not even dare to imagine it.
Lance walked to the side of ga Charizard Y, still unaware that Charizard possessed two different forms of ga Evolution. At that mont, all he felt was an emotion impossible to contain.
Standing next to ga Charizard Y, Lance even raised an eyebrow provocatively toward Steven. Although Steven’s ga Mawile brutally countered Lance’s Dragonite, ga Charizard Y, in contrast, strongly suppressed ga Mawile. As the saying goes... the wheel of fate always turns!
Cain stepped forward with a smile: "It seems the ga Evolution has been a complete success. From what I know about Pokémon and from my understanding of ga Evolution, your ga Charizard, Lance, should still be a fire and flying type, but its ability has changed. I suspect it’s Drought."
"If you don’t have a clear plan yet, I recomnd that you compare its physical attack and special attack in this state. You’ll probably obtain so very useful information."
So that Lance could increase his strength as quickly as possible and make full use of ga Charizard Y, Cain gave him so pointers that would allow him to better develop Charizard’s potential.
Hearing this, Lance nodded thoughtfully, several ideas already forming in his mind.
Then everyone turned their attention to Cynthia and her Garchomp.
In truth, compared to Lance’s Charizard, what they most wanted to see was what Cynthia’s Garchomp would beco after gaevolving.
Cynthia took a deep breath. Her heart was also racing. After having seen Cain’s Salance, Steven’s Mawile, and Lance’s Charizard, it was only natural that she could not remain calm.
She looked at the Garchomp beside her. At that mont, the Pokémon was also staring intently at her; even without gaevolving, the connection between trainer and Pokémon was evident.
Cynthia closed her eyes and, following Cain’s instructions and Lance’s example, said: "Reflect my heart... gaevolve, Garchomp!"
With her words, the familiar multicolored light of ga Evolution appeared once again, completely enveloping Garchomp.
Regarding Garchomp’s ga Evolution, Cain did not feel much anticipation, since he already knew what it would be like and what changes it would undergo.
But as a pseudo-legendary Pokémon, the increase it gains from ga Evolution is among the highest in terms of cost-effectiveness among all Pokémon.
After gaevolving, both Garchomp’s attack and defense increase markedly, pushing this Pokémon—already focused on physical combat—even further down that path of no return. This, of course, is a positive thing. Moreover, even its special attack improves slightly, allowing so special moves to produce unexpected effects.
The only negative point—and sothing that only occurs in a few Pokémon—is that after gaevolving, a reduction in certain attributes may appear.
In Garchomp’s case, its base speed decreases slightly. Although the reduction is not large, for a Pokémon that relies on close combat and does not particularly excel in defense, this change has a considerable impact.
Although those points of speed are redistributed into other attributes, Garchomp would prefer to lose a bit in other aspects rather than sacrifice the speed it depends on to survive.
That is one of the few weaknesses of Garchomp’s ga Evolution.
However, its flaws do not overshadow its virtues. As a pseudo-legendary Pokémon known as the Dragon of the Earth, Garchomp will not be constrained by ga Evolution.
After all, ga Evolution always represents an improvent.
The light dissipated, revealing the fully transford ga Garchomp.
Its appearance did not differ too much from the original. The most notable change was that its claws had beco more like enormous scythes.
ga Garchomp’s body was larger, with a more streamlined head and shoulders. On both sides of its abdon erged five pairs of white bony spikes, and sharp red spikes protruded from its knees.
Due to the excess energy, its arms and wings seed to rge, forming enormous scythe-shaped blades.
At that mont, ga Garchomp looked even more imposing, and standing next to Cynthia created an extre contrast, like a true scene of "beauty and the beast."
Cynthia observed her Pokémon with satisfaction. In her gaze, it could be seen that the ntal communication between the two had been very smooth.
