Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina were indeed born together, but the relationship among the three had never been good.

In particular, between Giratina and the other two entities. Ti and space, when combined, form the space-ti continuum, so Dialga and Palkia shared a very deep bond with each other. Giratina, on the other hand, controlled antimatter energy, a type of energy that, in theory, should not exist in the Pokémon world.

Because of this, its relationship with Dialga and Palkia was poor; it could even be said that they hated each other.

From the ti the three were still Pokémon eggs, the difference was already evident. When the three eggs were together, the energy of Dialga's and Palkia's eggs intertwined, as if there were a special bond between them, allowing them to strengthen and grow together.

Giratina's egg, however, was different. When placed together with the other two, it did not empower anyone.

The energy that Giratina's egg needed ca entirely from Dialga and Palkia. In other words, its existence was like that of a parasite, absorbing their energy.

It was the first ti Cain had heard such a version of the most ancient secrets of the Pokémon world.

Then Darkrai told him that he had had so encounters with Dialga and Palkia, and in none of them had a battle occurred.

Precisely because Darkrai dared to resist Giratina, he earned the approval of Dialga and Palkia, who even helped him grow back then.

The only question left was whether, after so many years, Dialga and Palkia would still rember his existence.

As for how Darkrai knew all of this... one must not forget what kind of Pokémon he was. He was a Pokémon famous for dreams. Even if he himself did not constantly read the dreams of others, his sister was an expert at it.

Why Darkrai (Mismagius) ended up reading the dreams of Dialga and Palkia was no longer sothing Cain wished to delve into.

But seen this way, what Darkrai said had a very high probability of being true.

That Giratina was an enemy of Dialga and Palkia was, to Cain, quite good news.

At the sa ti, he also learned that the fact Giratina had reached such a level had a great deal to do with having absorbed Dialga's and Palkia's energy since the egg stage.

Suddenly, an idea crossed Cain's mind: could it be that behind the barrier the Sacred Church was trying to break at the summit of the continent's central mountain, the energy of Dialga and Palkia was stored? Otherwise, what could justify the Sacred Church making such a huge commotion?

As for what the Sacred Church would want that energy for, Cain had no idea at all.

After all, even the existence of that energy was nothing more than his own conjecture.

For the ti being, the secrets about those top-tier Legendary Pokémon obtained from Darkrai's mouth had no imdiate practical use for Cain.

He placed on the ground, one by one, all the necessary instrunts and carefully arranged the materials he was going to use.

The first thing he had to make was Darkrai's recovery dicine. With Phoebe's help, the Ghost-type energy that had clung to Darkrai like an entrenched illness once again concentrated at a fixed point inside his body, which left much more room to apply the dicine.

This ti, Cain only needed to add so special materials so that the dicine would act in a concentrated way on that point. Combined with Darkrai's own control, the effect would undoubtedly be remarkable.

That said, compared with the previous two tis, the dosage was larger, which would an another harsh tornt to both Darkrai's mind and body.

But Darkrai showed not the slightest fear. Seeing Dialga and Palkia again that day, so free and unrestrained, further strengthened his longing for power.

In the past, he had confronted Giratina precisely in pursuit of greater strength. Now, for that sa goal, he first had to rid himself of Giratina's energy.

The difference was that before, he could only rely on himself; even his sister's help had been limited. Now, he had Cain's support.

It could not be denied that all the suffering endured over so long a ti might have been nothing more than a trial.

"When Heaven is about to place a great responsibility on soone, it first afflicts his mind and fatigues his body."

Misfortune may conceal fortune, and fortune may give rise to misfortune.

Loss and gain... who knows if it is not all part of destiny.

Cain had already mastered the production of the recovery dicine to perfection. Apart from the ti it required, there were no mistakes.

While Cain prepared the dicine, Darkrai took the opportunity to adjust his condition to the best possible state.

Without hesitation, when Cain finished the preparation and confird that Darkrai was ready, Darkrai drank the entire dicine in one gulp.

The effect of the recovery dicine would last for quite so ti, and throughout that period it would cause an enormous impact—or rather, tornt—on both Darkrai's body and mind.

Cain watched silently for a while. After confirming that Darkrai could stabilize himself, he stepped aside to prepare other things.

The disintegration of the Sacred Church gave him the chance to take advantage of the chaos, but to do so he needed sufficient strength.

Ti was not on his side.

He still had many things to make. After improving his strength, Darkrai would need items to help him quickly adapt to his new power.

At the sa ti, Cain's other Pokémon also needed certain special dicines, especially one specifically intended to amplify a Pokémon's internal energy.

Unlike Darkrai, the other Pokémon needed to improve both their physical condition and their internal energy. Both were indispensable. During the previous period, Cain had emphasized energy control precisely for this mont, so that the rapid increase would not overly damage their bodies or their strength.

In essence, it could be regarded as Pokéblocks whose effect had been multiplied many tis over. The difference was that Pokéblocks increased strength gradually and steadily, whereas this ti it was a rapid boost with a large dose.

This thod could not be used repeatedly; otherwise, it would seriously affect the most fundantal foundations of the Pokémon. Cain only dared to employ it after making nurous preparations in advance.

Once this use was completed, at least two or three years would probably have to pass before it could be done again.

And why had Marcus been able to make an Elite Four–level Jolteon jump to Champion level in such a short ti? Precisely because of this thod. However, for that Jolteon, the physical and ntal damage had been enormous and permanent.

The sudden increase in power of the new mbers recruited by the Sacred Church was also due to this.

Cain had known of this thod for a long ti thanks to the mbers of the Sacred Church, and later refined it further after obtaining Number Three's mories.

Combined with the system's calculations, analysis, and processing, he finally achieved a version in which the side effects were reduced to the absolute minimum.
