As they ventured deeper, the levels of the wild Pokémon steadily increased. Steven and Cain were forced to release their own Pokémon as a deterrent to avoid being ambushed.

Steven called out his tang, while Cain summoned his Slowpoke.

The imposing tang imdiately intimidated the wild Pokémon, forcing them to retreat.

Steven, clearly familiar with the area, led Cain to a mining zone that shimred with a tallic glow.

The rocks in this location contained a high concentration of valuable tals, making it the perfect ho for tal-affinity Pokémon.

Just as expected, small, shiny Pokémon resembling tallic dogs began to appear before them.

Aron.

The Arons had very large heads, almost the sa size as their bodies, and their bright blue eyes sparkled intensely. They stared at Cain and Steven without any hint of fear, calmly munching on the rocks scattered across the ground.

"This is the Aron territory," Steven comnted with a smile.

Shortly after, more Arons appeared, accompanied by a few Lairons.

Lairons were far more imposing than Arons. While Aron resembled an adorable pet, Lairon looked like a rhinoceros covered in tallic armor.

The tallic spikes protruding from its back gave it an intimidating and heavy appearance.

"If you want to capture an Aron, you’ll first have to gain the approval of one Pokémon," Steven warned.

"The approval of a Pokémon?" Cain asked, intrigued.

"Co on, you’ll see," Steven replied, urging Cain to follow him.

As they moved further, they not only encountered Lairons but also spotted one or two Aggrons. These enormous Pokémon were perched on piles of rocks, enjoying what appeared to be delicacies. They ate slowly, letting out occasional roars.

In front of them, a group of Lairons and Arons surrounded them, listening attentively to their roars and nodding from ti to ti.

"These Aggrons are giving lessons on how to fight as a group," Steven explained. "Although it might seem like they live a peaceful life here, there are internal battles within the group to prevent the Pokémon from becoming lazy creatures that only eat."

Cain nodded. He now understood why all the Arons and Lairons they had seen exuded vitality and determination—very different from captive-bred Pokémon.

Finally, Steven stopped.

"It’s because of this Aggron that the entire group has developed so impressively. He is the leader of the pack, the one who organizes and guides his group in combat," Steven said, pointing to an imposing Aggron standing in the middle of the mine.

While a typical Aggron is around 2.1 ters tall, this one stood an impressive 3 ters tall.

Cain noticed several scars on this Aggron’s tallic armor—claw marks, cuts, and other wounds.

Leaving marks on an Aggron with such incredible physical defense ant it had battled extrely powerful Pokémon.

Cain activated his system to gather data on the Aggron:

Pokémon: Aggron (Dark Blue)

TM Moves: Protect, Hidden Power (Water), Ice Beam, Hyper Beam, Thunderbolt, Earthquake, Flathrower, Fire Blast, Focus Blast, Giga Impact, Stone Edge, Dragon Tail, Surf

Cain couldn’t believe what he was seeing!

Was that long list of moves real?

So many moves concentrated in a single Pokémon seed like overkill, but for this Aggron, Cain could only describe it with two words:

Terrifying!

This Aggron didn’t just have the level of an elite-class Pokémon; even among them, it was a formidable opponent.

This was a true elite-level Pokémon. The Mismagius Cain had captured on Trial Island was nothing more than a pseudo-elite.

But facing this Aggron, everything about it was top-notch: its abilities, level, and combat talent.

No wonder this group of Arons, despite living a peaceful life, hadn’t lost their desire to fight.

It was all thanks to this terrifying beast before them!

Could a pseudo-legendary Pokémon even stand a chance against it?

Even at the sa level, a battle would be the only way to find out!

Noticing Cain’s gaze, the Aggron turned its head and stared directly at him.

"ROOAARR!"

The intimidating aura of an elite-level Pokémon unleashed in full force, making Cain feel insignificant and vulnerable.

The Slowpoke accompanying him collapsed to the ground, unable even to resist. The difference in power was overwhelming.

"Hey, big guy, calm down! He’s my friend!" Steven quickly exclaid.

With complete familiarity, Steven approached the Aggron and patted one of its enormous legs.

Compared to the Aggron’s size, Steven looked like a child.

At Steven’s words, the Aggron withdrew its intimidating aura and narrowed its sharp eyes, showing a contented expression as it let out a soft growl in Steven’s direction.

"All right, all right, big guy. This is my friend. Go back to what you were doing, and I’ll take care of him," Steven said, giving the Aggron another pat on the arm before returning to Cain.

The Aggron obediently resud its training session with the Arons and Lairons.

"Wow! That Aggron is terrifying," Cain said, breathing a sigh of relief as he patted his chest.

Against that Aggron, he wouldn’t have stood a chance.

"Of course. This Aggron used to belong to my grandfather. Since my grandfather passed away, it has lived here, teaching its group every day and never venturing outside," Steven explained, clearly admiring his grandfather greatly.

"To have such a powerful Pokémon under his command, your grandfather must have been an incredibly strong trainer!" Cain remarked, glancing at the towering Aggron again.

"That’s right. Although I don’t rember much about my grandfather, the stories I’ve heard about him speak of his great power."

"Wow... looks like capturing an Aron will be harder than I thought," Cain said with a resigned smile.

Earlier, when Steven ntioned the need for a Pokémon’s approval, Cain hadn’t fully understood.

But after seeing that Aggron, he could only laugh bitterly.

It definitely wouldn’t be easy.

Steven nodded, recalling his own struggles when capturing his Aron.
