Cain had a suspicion in his mind.

As the Pokémon continued digging and uncovering more diamonds, that suspicion grew stronger.

He set aside so of the larger diamonds, leaving the smaller ones for Larvitar as a snack.

Additionally, Cain decided to call Aron out as well.

When Aron appeared and saw Larvitar frantically devouring diamonds, his eyes filled with envy.

Without saying a word, Aron simply sat next to Larvitar and started eating too.

Larvitar noticed Aron’s presence but didn’t say much, rely letting out a few sounds while chewing since his mouth was still full of diamonds.

Although both Larvitar and Aron could eat diamonds, compared to other minerals, diamonds were quite hard, so they ate them more slowly.

Moreover, diamonds contained much more energy, and both began to feel as though their stomachs were reaching full capacity, as if they might burst.

However, seeing the endless stream of diamonds being unearthed, neither seed willing to stop.

Suddenly, Larvitar had a brilliant idea. He took off his small red backpack, which had a fragnt of Groudon’s armor in the main compartnt but still had other empty compartnts.

Larvitar quickly filled those compartnts with small diamonds and hugged the backpack tightly, adopting a possessive attitude of "These are mine, no one touch them!"

Seeing Larvitar’s red backpack, Aron looked a bit puzzled.

He stared at Larvitar, then at Cain, as if silently expressing that he needed sothing similar.

Amused by their behavior, Cain couldn’t help but laugh. "Haha, it’s alright, little ones, no need to fight over this. After all, these diamonds are for you."

"But eating this many diamonds as if they’re regular food isn’t a good idea. You might have digestive problems. This will be the first and last ti. In the future, I’ll prepare a more suitable diet for you."

Aron, slightly embarrassed, scratched his tallic head, while Larvitar kept clutching his backpack, completely ignoring Cain’s words as though his only concern was his precious possession.

Laughing, Cain decided to recall the two mischievous Pokémon back into their Pokéballs.

"After eating so many diamonds, they probably won’t even need dinner," Cain thought. He could only hope their stomachs could digest them well.

After recalling the two little ones, Cain’s expression turned serious again. He looked toward where Drapion was still digging, a spark of excitent in his eyes.

As if responding to his gaze, Drapion struck the wall with its pincers once more, and suddenly, the wall collapsed, revealing a passage ahead.

The interior wasn’t completely dark; small, diamond-like stones embedded in the walls emitted a faint glow, illuminating the cave within.

Cain felt a surge of joy, convinced that his suspicion was about to be confird.

Climbing onto Drapion’s back, Cain and his Pokémon ventured into the cave.

He instructed Slowking to seal the hole they had dug, preventing other Pokémon from entering.

This passage seed to be part of a preexisting cave system, and now Cain had to decide which direction to take.

After observing the situation, Cain decided to head toward the area where the diamonds were most abundant.

All of Cain’s Pokémon accompanied him, as in this type of unknown environnt, there was always a risk of encountering danger.

The passage wasn’t very wide, barely enough for Drapion to walk through, so the other Pokémon positioned themselves either in front or behind.

Gengar hid in Cain’s shadow, while Weavile, being smaller and more agile, took the lead to scout for potential threats.

Slowking stayed directly behind Cain, ready to teleport them away if necessary.

Lastly, Honchkrow flew at the rear, keeping watch for any attacks from behind.

This was the formation they used to advance.

As they ventured deeper, the passage gradually widened, allowing the Pokémon to walk more comfortably.

Drapion, with its imposing height of two and a half ters, was finally able to stand upright as they moved.

After walking for about twenty minutes, Cain estimated that they had reached the heart of the mountain.

"This tunnel, though it seems flat, actually slopes slightly downward. Based on my calculations, we’re right in the middle of the mountain," Cain said, relying on data provided by his system.

Shortly after, they arrived at a massive underground cavern.

The tunnel walls were completely covered in diamonds.

At this point, Cain was 99% certain of his theory.

When he saw the first Pokémon inside the enormous cave, all his suspicions were confird.

The Pokémon that appeared before him was a Rock- and Fairy-type.

A common Pokémon in the Kalos region, but rare in other places.

It was a Carbink.

The body of this Pokémon was composed of stones and diamonds.

So, the stones and diamonds Cain had been unearthing were, in fact, fallen fragnts from these Carbink.

Carbink are born deep underground, under conditions of high pressure and temperature, and the glow of the gemstones on their bodies serves as a ans of protection.

One of the Carbink was manipulating sothing on the wall. At a glance, Cain noticed it was embedding the diamonds falling from its body into the walls to make the cave shine more brightly.

As Cain looked further, he saw many other Carbink doing the sa.

When Cain and his Pokémon entered the cavern, the nearest Carbink noticed them.

Its small "hands," or rather the ear-like structures on its head, dropped a diamond that fell to the ground with a soft clink.

The Carbink stared at Cain and his Pokémon with blue eyes filled with curiosity and confusion.

Curiosity about who these new beings were.

And confusion about why they were there.

The other Carbink also noticed Cain’s presence and stopped what they were doing.

They showed no signs of fear or hostility; they simply watched silently.

Carbink were pure-hearted Pokémon, without any desire to attack. They were very docile creatures, especially those living in peaceful places like this.
