The entire house was a single large room, which, relative to w’s size, could be considered a rather spacious mansion.
In the center of the house was a large, round cushion—more accurately, a soft bed.
Although w had been absent for an unknown amount of ti, the room remained remarkably clean. Especially the central cushion, which looked as new as if it had never been used.
Recalling Altaria into her Poké Ball to avoid any accidental damage to the valuable items within the room caused by her wings, Cain entered with Slowking. He activated his system to scan the area, hoping to leave no valuable object undiscovered.
Cain slowly approached the central cushion, which resembled a large, pink bed. Upon touching it, he noted how soft it was—anyone lying on it would sink deeply into its plush surface.
It seed w lived quite comfortably.
Aside from the bed in the center, there wasn’t much else notable in the house. However, the walls were covered with engravings: so pictograms, others ancient cave paintings, and a few inscriptions Cain couldn’t decipher.
Unable to understand their anings, Cain used his system to scan and store everything in the database. Although he didn’t comprehend the contents now, he hoped to uncover so secrets in the future.
This had been w’s dwelling, and Team Rocket would likely be able to find traces of its DNA. Whether on the engraved walls or elsewhere, with Team Rocket’s advanced technology, even the smallest strand of w’s hair would not go unnoticed.
Unless Cain decided to burn the house entirely to the ground—then perhaps no trace of w would be left, and wtwo might never be created.
Indeed, Cain had considered this possibility, but he quickly dismissed it.
Leaving aside the possibility that Registeel and Regirock outside the premises might unleash their wrath upon him for destroying the house, there was nothing to gain by preventing wtwo’s birth.
On the contrary, if Team Rocket focused its resources and personnel on researching and creating wtwo, Cain would have more ti to grow stronger.
It wasn’t just about facing Team Rocket; Cain needed to ensure he could protect himself when wtwo erged.
When the League and Team Rocket went to war, Cain wanted to be in a position to involve himself smartly, without his identity becoming a liability.
Cain respected Giovanni, yes, but if Giovanni tried to manipulate him into suicidal missions, Cain wanted the power to refuse.
That was the goal Cain had set for himself.
Whether it was Team Rocket or the League, he needed to ensure no one could control his life. Thus, the idea of destroying the house vanished as quickly as it had appeared.
In fact, Cain thought he should assist Team Rocket in finding w’s DNA and encourage them to pursue wtwo’s creation.
Witnessing the birth of an artificially created Pokémon based on a top-tier legendary would be imnsely beneficial to Cain’s system.
For wtwo’s creation, Team Rocket would assemble all the scientists they could, and their computers would be filled with invaluable data Cain could store in his system.
If he could scan that information...
It would be a massive breakthrough!
Therefore, before all of this, Cain needed to ensure Team Rocket found w’s DNA while continuing to strengthen himself and rise within the team’s ranks to gain access to wtwo’s creation process.
At the very least, he needed access to the computers where the data would be stored.
As Cain grew stronger, he realized the data in his system was no longer sufficient.
After all, in his past life, Cain had stopped gathering information after reaching near-elite levels.
Only in the Lake of Rage laboratory had he found substantial data, but even that was now starting to fall short. The system could no longer solve problems as effectively as it once did.
After scanning all the inscriptions on the walls, the system finally detected sothing of interest on w’s bed.
With white gloves and tweezers, Cain extracted a small strand of hair from the cushion.
It was extrely fine but long enough to be a tail hair from w.
What shocked Cain was that the strand had a faint... reddish tint?
Red blood?
w’s blood?
Cain examined the strand, noticing the faint trace of blood on it, feeling increasingly astonished.
After all, this was w—a top-tier legendary Pokémon. Could it have been injured and left behind a trace of blood?
This might be the only sample of w’s blood in existence.
The most intriguing question was: what Pokémon could injure w? Even wtwo, in its most complete form, hadn’t managed to harm w—their battle had been evenly matched at best.
Perhaps a ga-Evolved wtwo could, but now... what Pokémon could harm w? Cain had no clues.
Could it have been an ancient legendary Pokémon? Or an undiscovered one? Or perhaps... an Ultra Beast?
Could w’s disappearance be related to that injury?
Cain felt as though he was brushing against a grand mystery.
The system conducted a ticulous scan of the hair strand.
Item Na: Strand of a Mysterious Pokémon (Unidentified)
Description: Contains traces of blood from a mysterious Pokémon. Despite the passage of years, the energy in the blood has not dissipated.
Function: The energy in the blood seems to possess psychic properties and could greatly enhance the strength of a Pokémon’s psychic abilities.
Warning: Do not consu it without certainty of its effects; it may cause unpredictable results.
This was the information provided by the system. It was evident that the system was beginning to struggle to keep up with Cain.
Failing to identify the blood as w’s was understandable—after all, very few had seen w in person.
What frustrated Cain was the system’s inability to determine how to use this hair strand.
Holding a treasure in hand but not knowing how to use it was a rather awkward situation.
Even so, the fact that the hair’s energy had remained intact after so many years was astounding.
After all, while w wasn’t a battle-focused Pokémon, as a top-tier psychic-type legendary, it possessed unparalleled ntal capabilities.
If Cain could harness this energy, it could significantly enhance Slowking’s psychic powers—even his own psychic abilities.
