Cynthia’s signature Pokémon is Garchomp, the land dragon.
This pseudo-legendary Pokémon from the Sinnoh region is a Dragon and Ground type.
In terms of power and potential, it’s no less formidable than tagross or Tyranitar, as all of them are pseudo-legendary Pokémon capable of ga Evolution.
What remains unclear is whether Cynthia’s Gabite has already evolved. If it hasn’t, Cain still has so confidence, as pseudo-legendary Pokémon only reveal their true potential in their final form.
But if Gabite has already evolved into Garchomp, then Cain is in serious trouble.
Cain walked to the position opposite Cynthia on the battlefield.
Cain had already explained to Skye that any challenger facing the gym leader could only use one Pokémon in a one-on-one battle.
After all, Cain only had one battle-ready Pokémon, Slowking; both Poliwag and Mudkip were still young Pokémon.
Cynthia had no issue with the rule. Regardless of how many Pokémon were used, she could adapt.
Cynthia was traveling through different regions to challenge the strongest trainers. The format of the battle didn’t matter much to her; her goal was to learn from the diversity of combat styles and refine both her own style and that of her Pokémon.
Cain couldn’t help but admire people like Cynthia.
Once both trainers took their respective battle positions, the battle began.
There wasn’t much dialogue; they would let the battle speak for itself.
The referee, standing on the central platform, saw that both were ready and proclaid:
"Now begins the Leafy Town Gym Challenge. The challenger is Cynthia from Celestic Town in the Sinnoh region, and the defender is Cain, the Leafy Town Gym Leader."
"The challenge will be conducted with one Pokémon per side. The battle ends when one Pokémon can no longer fight, or when one trainer surrenders."
"Begin!"
As the gym leader, Cain had to send out his Pokémon first, as per the rules.
"Go, Slowking!"
Cain threw the Poké Ball from his belt, and Slowking appeared on the field.
As Cain’s only Water-type Pokémon ready for battle and also his strongest, Slowking’s appearance surprised everyone present.
"Yadon!" Slowking roared confidently.
As Cain’s first Pokémon to participate in a gym battle, it was determined to give its all.
The w blood that Slowking had recently absorbed had significantly boosted its power, and now it was ti to showcase it.
Slowking is a rare Pokémon, as the thod by which Slowpoke evolves into Slowking has yet to be revealed to the public.
Aside from a few Slowking found in the wild, very few had ever seen one. Nobody expected the Leafy Town Gym Leader to have one.
When Cynthia saw Slowking, her eyes lit up.
As a trainer who doesn’t specialize in any specific Pokémon type, Cynthia had extensive knowledge of Water-types since she owned a very powerful one herself, the second strongest in her team.
She knew how rare a Slowking was. In terms of rarity, Slowking was even rarer than pseudo-legendary Pokémon.
However, in terms of combat ability and potential, Slowking wasn’t as strong as the pseudo-legendaries.
Still, Cynthia felt a surge of excitent.
A battle!
Her opponent wasn’t weak!
And it was a Pokémon she’d never faced before!
She was going to learn a lot from this experience!
Originally, when Cynthia arrived in Leafy Town, she intended to use her Water-type Pokémon for this battle and learn sothing new.
But upon seeing Slowking, she decided to change her plans and bring out her best ace.
With a confident smile, Cynthia threw her Poké Ball onto the field.
"Go, Garchomp!"
"Roar!"
Garchomp!
As Garchomp appeared, a dominant roar echoed throughout the gym, leaving everyone in awe.
The audience fell silent for three seconds.
What followed was an explosion of excited cheers.
The roaring crowd felt like a torrent that filled the ears of Cain, Cynthia, and their Pokémon.
This was a gym battle!
Cain felt a special thrill.
He had lived two lives in this world and had never experienced a battle like this. In Team Rocket, fights were more about ambushes or dirty tactics, with the sole goal of defeating the opponent.
But a gym battle like this was completely new to him.
The crowd was ecstatic.
They felt lucky to witness this battle.
A Pokémon as rare as Slowking facing the fully evolved pseudo-legendary from the Sinnoh region; it was bound to be an exciting battle!
So spectators were already ssaging their friends to co and watch, while others pulled out recording devices to film the battle. They knew that no matter when they shared it, this match would beco iconic.
Despite the recent system failure, which hadn’t fully recovered yet, so basic functions were operational, albeit slow.
Cain attempted to scan Garchomp as soon as it appeared.
He had to wait a few seconds before receiving the results.

Seeing Garchomp’s details, Cain couldn’t help but feel overwheld.
There was no comparison.
In terms of potential, Cynthia’s Garchomp was on par with Steven’s tagross. Steven only had the edge due to his infinite resources.
The fact that Garchomp was at level 48 indicated it had recently evolved and might not yet fully control its power, giving Cain a slight chance.
Garchomp, known as the Earth Dragon, had a major weakness. With its Dragon Ground typing, it was four tis weak to Ice and also took double damage from Dragon and Fairy moves, though exploiting these weaknesses wasn’t easy.
At the sa ti, Garchomp had double resistance to types like Poison, Rock, and Fire and was immune to Electric types, aning it had a natural advantage against most Pokémon.
Cain’s expression grew serious.
Soone help , this is unfair!
First Steven with his unlimited fortune, and now Cynthia with her overwhelming power!
